Just had my ICL surgery on 24th and 25th June!

I recently underwent ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) surgery on June 24th and 25th, and it has truly been a life-changing experience. My doctor recommended performing the procedure on two consecutive days, one eye at a time, to ensure greater safety and minimize any risk of error.

Before the surgery, I had high myopia, with a prescription of -10 in my right eye and -7 in my left eye. Living with such a high power meant I was completely dependent on glasses for even the simplest daily tasks.

Immediate Results After ICL Surgery

Right after the procedure, I was amazed — I could finally see clearly without glasses! However, it truly hit me the next morning. For the first time in my life, I woke up, looked at the clock, and realized I didn’t have to reach for my glasses on the side table. That moment was incredibly emotional and unforgettable.

Recovery Process and Eye Care

Post-surgery, I’ve been prescribed regular eye drops, which I need to continue for about a month to support proper healing. The recovery has been smooth so far, and every day my vision feels clearer and stronger.

Life After Vision Correction Surgery

What excites me the most is the new freedom I now have. After years of limitations due to poor eyesight, I can finally:

  • Go swimming without worrying about glasses or lenses
  • Enjoy hiking and outdoor adventures
  • Step out in the rain without discomfort
  • Experience everyday activities with complete ease

Though I had the option to get this done earlier, I’m glad I took the step at 35. As they say, better late than never!

Final Thoughts on ICL Surgery

If you’re struggling with high prescription glasses or contact lenses, ICL surgery can be a transformative solution. My journey so far has been incredibly positive, and I’m excited to fully embrace this new phase of clear vision and freedom.

The haircut at salon disaster, what should I do?

I wanted to get a stylish bob cut for summer... I trusted the salon, but turns out the haircut is too short for my face, I have abig oval face and I'd told him I would need the hair to touch my Chin n nape however, it looks super short and childish on me as after styling it looks even shorter and my face looks bigger. What Should I do to grow my hair faster, does oiling help? If yes which? Can I take hair supplements to grow my hair faster?

Confused if I should go ahead with Toric ICL or is my cylindrical eye power negligible and I should ask for ICL instead of toric ones

This is my eye power and based on this my Dr has advised me to go for Toric ICL. Please note that I have had Retina Detachment in Right Eye in 2013 and has barrage laser Lattice Removal in Left eye. Both the retinas are good. The dr. said I can go for either of the treatments but I want to know which one is best/safest for me.

Planning to get ICL surgery, complications are that I have had retina Detachment surgery in my right eye in year 2013 and a laser to remove lattice in my left eye. After Retina detachment my eye power became -9.50 in my right eye and -6.50 in my left eye. I also have minor cylindrical eye power in my right eye. I am 37 years old and have high screen time due to my job. I want lead an active life without spectacles, swimming, underwater diving etc..which I couldnt do because of my specs. Tell me if ICL is good option, what about cataract and short sightedness after 40 years.
