Nexus Prime
Okay, so I've had this rolling around in my head for a bit; Age of the Primes Nexus, is an updated Heatwave/Central component.
I don't think he was intended to be stand-alone; I'm with the majority, if he was, then yes bad form from Hasbro.
Yes, he's based heavily on his TFO design, which was a glorified Blitzwing (honestly that's why I think the legacy release came with those silly hands) but he's not colored like the FunPub design.
Look at FP Nexus, the limb colors don't line up with AotP colors. But you know who does line up nicely? Heatwave. AotP Nexus, like some of the other Primes (I'm looking at you Prima and you Alchemist) is an amalgamation of his various interpretations. Yes, they severely underestimated the community love for Nexus. But, it was never meant to be, Nexus. He was meant to be Heatwave. Or, one of his Aligned parts; maybe Mainspring, who cares.
