I thought this would be something cool for the community to do! The emo subreddit had done this some time last year, and it seemed to go over pretty well.
If it's alright with the mods, I'll be posting a new one of these daily until we reach 2026; then we'll have the ultimate list of albums sorted by year! The most upvoted comment 24 hours after a given post will be selected as the winner for that year.

Edit: Spiderland has won! I'm just waiting for mod approval before I'm able to continue and make the rest of the posts.

I've been long aware of their music, but am only now just realizing how great they are!! Rustic Houses and The Cycle of Days and Seasons have quickly become two of my favorite albums of the genre. I'd love to see them be brought up more often, especially in discussions of first-wave post-rock.
