Harmony H620 vs Supro Blues King 12... vs something else in the same class?
So I've owned a Supro Blues King 12 for about 4 years, and while it's served me well as my primary amp, I've delved into the idea of upgrading into something on and off for the last year or so. While I'm totally content with still owning it, there's been a couple of amps that have caught my eye... specifically the Harmony H series. I primarily play a lot of blues-esque stuff (Magic Sam, Missisippi Fred McDowell, etc.) with a strat, and lots of fingerstyle guitar with a Gretsch (chet atkins stuff).
A shop nearby recently took in an H620, and when I plugged it in it was like a completely different animal. I could actually feel the difference when I'm playing. Now granted, my Supro has moments where I can feel it, but it was noticeably better through the Harmony. I'm not sure if it's just how I have my amp set up at home, or if it's just the nature of the amps themselves.... anyways, I don't know if going from the BK to the H620 could be a logical upgrade or not.
Something else that's a long-term goal of mine is to put together a Boss pedalboard and start gigging at my church with electric guitar. I love the idea that I could incorporate either of these amps into our DI interface, but I guess the Harmony has a bit of an edge with an attenuator? We also don't quite have a building yet, so something a bit more portable would be ideal if incorporating an amp would be a good idea (maybe the H605 could be a viable option?)
So yeah. I also have some interest in Peavey's Classic amps too, but there isn't one available locally. I tend to hone toward amps that aren't your typical Fender, Vox, Roland, Marshall, etc. Thanks in advance!!
