[TOMT] Fantasy Comic Book/Graphic Novel from the Late 1990's/Early 2000's with Woman Protagonist
Around 2002 I remember borrowing a book from my local library that I am trying to find. I am not sure if it was the first volume of an ongoing series, or a self-contained graphic novel. It was a trade paperback, but the height and width was of a mass-market paperback rather than that of a traditional trade paperback for comics, similar to a manga in height and width but not in depth. I am not 100% sure, but I believe it was on glossy paper rather than regular paper. I believe if it was a comic it was probably 6 issues worth, the book was probably around 180-200 pages. I don't think it was published by DC or Marvel from my knowledge of their series, but it could have been one of their imprints or an Image book. I thought it may have been published by Dark Horse, but trying to look through the Wikipedia page of comics published by them didn't return anything that sounded familiar.
I don't remember much of the actual content of the story. I remember it was western fantasy, with the basic story being a darkness spreading over the land from some villain. I know the protagonist was a woman, in my head I remember her as blonde, possibly wearing green. I remember the lines and colors looking more modern and done digitally in my head, and the art being western and read from left to right.
I apologize for how vague all this info is, I was probably around 7 when I checked-out the book and I struggle to remember if I got farther than a couple of pages in. Even so, I remember it sparking an interest in me to write. I believe if I figure out which publisher was publishing books in that style I'll manage to find it, but i have struggled to figure out what terms to use for the exact style of book I am looking for. If anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
