What Mons are worth getting in the new pack?

I've been pulling packs for this set and I'm wondering if it's even worth it to keep at it where I don't see much value in the cards the ex cards they added.

Hisuain Zorark seems like a lot of fun but I don't know how good it will really be as a three energy. I will say I thought the step up battle using the new Caterpie line was a cool idea. Maybe there's some combo I'm not thinking of that works really well with them. I already have one.

Milotic seems like the best with it's solo energy generation but it's just another sleep spammer and it doesn't look to be any better than the Altaria/Espeon core that's been running around. I have zero of these so far.

Mega Diancie has potential with Gardevior and Carbink.

Dendenne looks ok but really gimmicky. Like it exists to synergize with all the new tool support cards but the second someone slaps Guzma down it's basically over, which I started running in response to all the new tool stuff running around. Hard to see it competing with the more efficient electric decks.

Mega Sableye seems like an awful gimmick for a mega with such low bulk.

Niche Balloon Situation

Just learned today that you can, as a solo, extract the first half of the boss token with the balloon, then go back, pick it up and then extract with the other half.

Got a very lucky run of wiping two teams and killing the boss. Someone else had grabbed the caged token and left. As I was about to extract I saw that the balloon was still there. Said "fuck it, I like more loot" and launched it. No one had grabbed the other boss token nor was anyone fighting the Hellspawn boss, signaling to me that the server was likely empty. Grabbed the spare boss token, killed big fireman, and got to extract with three tokens and got the Ambrose level 50 challenge done to boot.

I don't think I will ever get to replicate this again. Still wondering why they didn't launch the balloon to begin with.

1865 Carbine: Standard or FMJ

The 1865 has quickly become my favorite rifle and I've been debating which ammo type I prefer on it. I have been running FMJ a lot but played a match recently where I grabbed a standard 1865 off a body. I started to really notice the difference going back to standard.

On paper, FMJ seems like the way to go. Better penetration on a medium ammo weapon is always useful, the increased recoil is minor and it synergizes with the Scottfield/Pax for more ammo.

However I feel the loss in drop range and muzzle velocity hurts it more than it's worth at times. It already has pretty bad MV and DR to begin with and FMJ makes it even worse.

I probably should just use what compliments my secondary more, running shotguns and melee? Use standard for increased range. Maybe bring a secondary with better pen/range while using the 1865 for more mid to close. >! Or maybe I just use the Berth and join the cult of the long ammo /s !<

Curious what other 1865 Carbine enthusiasts think?

Vaule of Prestige And Some Questions Regarding It

I have been playing hunt a bunch for the past few months. My friend and I have been sitting at level 100 for awhile and both of us don't really see the value in prestige.

I looked through the wiki page and none of the rewards seemed particularly interesting.

The only thing I am not sure about (it's a bit unclear on both wikis), do I get to receive a random store weapon skin each time I prestige? Or is it every other level by the way wiki gg structures it's graph (meaning the first time I prestige I'll just get a bunch of rewards I won't care about)? Also is it only weapons skins or will it give me some fuckass spyglass skin?

Given how long it's been since I have had to actually level, how fast does it take to get to bloodline 50? (disregarding the current event and retiring hunters)

Part of me is tempted for the sake of something new to do but I will miss my loadout variety and do not want to go through the process of unlocking all the weapon variants again.

And knowing my luck I will end up getting a random skin for a marksman variant I'll never use.

To me the value seems to lie more in being an option to keep getting unlocks when you don't want to spend more money on the game's cosmetics.

I'm curious how others feel about prestige and whether they enjoy it/recommend it.

Why is the Knife So Bad?

Edit- I'm definitely missing something with the knife from everyone's comments. I only started playing a few seasons ago so I never was around for when the knife was meta. In my experience I never use the tool melees for pvp, I use full melee weapons, throwable melees and melee variants more than tools when I do melee pvp. I still prefer the pve advantages of the other options ultimately.

A massive 20 stamina consumption on a pathetic 52 damage attack that can't even one shot zombies in the head.

Tied for the highest stamina usage for heavies with the second highest damage that does pierce so good for it I guess.

Costs the second most out of 4 options with the Heavy Knife being half the price.

Has the combination of pierce and slash, which is neat I guess.

I fail to see why I would use this over the Dusters or HK. Dusters have better stamina consumption on lights and heavies, two light face jabs still kill zombies and you can swing 2.5 heavies with the dusters for the cost of one Knife heavy. And I get blunt damage for Immolators.

Meanwhile the HK is half the price, much lower light attack consumption for a damage threshold that one shots zombies, same heavy attack stamina consumption for more damage, better at clearing out barbed wire and the damage makes it arguably the best basic tool melee for stabbing hunters.

And if you really wanted that piercing heavy you have the knuckle knife which has blunt lights for Immolators and better stamina consumption.

I'm really curious as to why the knife is like this. You could just make it's light attack stamina consumption in line with rest of the tool melees and it would be fine, still outclassed, but fine.

A Psyduck Deck for my Favorite Little Bird

Psyduck being my favorite pokemon made me really want to find a way to make use of them. Thankfully they actually gave Psyduck a good effect on a colorless attack.

Basically built a control deck around Chingling, M. Absol and the duck. If you lock down the opponent early and strip key cards from them with MA you can essentially win through resources alone.

A couple things of note.

-Iono over Copycat since you typically leave the opponent with small hands.

-Nasty Notice over Red Card to force a discard over a reshuffle. Very useful to punish Entei/Suicune leads and early Oak usage.

-X Speed to retreat MA, can be made relatively safe if you manage to strip Cyrus. You basically sacrifice Psyduck and Chingling, especially to get Mars maxed out.

-Double Pop because keeping MA alive and healthy is critical.

-Dark Pendant to further limit cards.

-No room for Golduck. A shame since the new Golduck has niche value for chunking high energy pokemon like Miraidon.

Some potential edits I could make could include dropping Lisia or the second tool for basic plains or field blower.

It's Unorthodox But It Kinda Works

Been messing around with my singular Koraidon and found some fun synergy with Brock and company. More of an excuse to flash a couple shinies more than anything else. Might work better with double onix and a second Koraidon over Golem, but like I said, singular Koraidon.
