Strange ingame occurrence
So, this post will probably be all over the place. Because I don´t even know how or where to start. So let me start with a question, or perhaps two:
- Did you ever encoutered anything strange or eerie in a game? And by that I don´t mean general bugs, I mean something truly bizzare.
- Is there any... creepypasta or something akin to that about Hunt? Some fringe internet/reddit legend?
With that out of the way, let me tell you a story. At first it doesn´t sound weird, creepy or anything of the sorts. Also before I start, I am truthfully retelling what I have experienced in this very game, played on Xbox Series S. And every good story needs a name, right? So let me call this...
The Ghost Battle at Pelican Island Prison. Quite the name, eh?
I encoutered this... phenomenon twice already. First time it was last year, after DeSalle was reintroduced back into the game. Second time it was this week, couple days ago. Both times I was playing solo (as usual for me) and was having a pretty normal game, avoiding gunfights, lurking in the back, waiting for other players to either die or extract, that sort of thing. It was getting closer to the end of the game, so I had to make a decision: to try and grab the bounty that was left, or go home empty handed. First time I think it was Rotjaw, second time the bounty in the Stronghold, so I had to work for them (kill/banish). But before I could reach them, I suddenly heard shots being fired. Not one, not two, but numerous, almost never-ending barrage, coming from one place: Pelican Island Prison. Naturally, I went to cover and was waiting, if they would get any closer. But they didn´t. And as I was getting farther and farther away, so were the sounds of the shots. They never moved, or didn´t moved that much. Not even after I picked up bounties and was making my way to extraction points. They just... continued, like nothing ever happened. And in both times, before I could even get to the extraction point, last five minutes of the games begun. Yet not even this fazed them, if they were players anyway. They just... fired their shots, again and again and again.
What do you all think of it? Before anyone comments the obvious: I know that probably they were just newbies, unaware of what happens after the time runs out. You might even say that it was a lenghty rookie fight, none of them landing shots, right? But at least the second time it happened, there was only one hunter left with me on the map, if it was a hunter. How do I know? Two rookie hunters killed a banished boss pretty quickly, and they left. Third hunter was me. Fourth hunter ran away from Moses Poultry like hell itself was chasing him. And I found the body of the fifth hunter dead in the Med supply point. I looted him, then burned him, I watched him the whole time.
What are the odds, that something like this could happen? Same map, same compound, same behaviour. And if it wasn´t done by the hunters/players, then who fired the shots? Maybe next time playing you will hear them too...
I noticed the writing on the upcoming gamescon post on Hunt’s social media and decided to translate it.
I’ve solved the latest boss or hunter. You’re welcome.
How to get into Hunt? In need of tips
Hello everyone,
After sleeping on this game for some time now I am very tempted to jump in after watching some videos on yt.
I am in need on some tips how to get into it and best way to approach it
For my gaming experience I have been playing fps games for 20years…. CS for about 8k hrs and got into extraction shooters only this year
Started with Arc with about 300hrs, then Arena Breakout with about 100hrs (didnt really like it) and then the final boss Tarkov with about 700hrs ( so I know what pain is 🤣)
Also if there are some people that want to take me along I wouldnt mind 😁
I am 27yo, EU based, very chill guy
Cheers guys and happy hunting
Just a boss idea.
Why is there no boss that mess with you dark sight.
It could force you in to dark sight while in the compound or lair and make you hear Gun shots, running, death screams or see shadows of monsters and hunters?
Would it be a annoying mechanic? Probably but i think it would be very cool.
Design wise, i would make the boss be based on the Wampus cat from American folk lore.
some fun shotgun ideas?
i know shotguns are not everyone favorite weapon but i came across one that i feel would fit really well into hunt!! the model 1839 shotgun, a revolver shotgun from 1839!!
originally it was a percussion shotgun similar to the 1851 Colt but due to how Hunt has turned all percussion weapons into bullets that use a primer i think they could do the same with this shotgun?
if you want to read into this gun!

What’s the general consensus?
Since the two weapons already have almost identical stats, I wanted to ask what the community thinks.
Which of the two do you consider the better weapon overall, and why?
I'm deliberately ignoring the fact that the Ranger 73 can be used with Levering
I'm only talking about the weapons without any Trait additions
the Bornheim Match SHOULD count for this Challenge?
IF the Doltch counts the Bornheim should.
I’m playing assassins creed while everyone else is playing hunt showdown
I don't know WHAT changes to MMR have been made, but I am feeling like a sacrifice lately
Playing with randoms on West Coast and I swear the last two weeks or so, the hunt gods decided I was to be a warmup
Who the hell decided puting the Maxim damage was a good weekly challenge?
Specially since bounty clash no longer seems to be at the fort anymore.
Half the Normal Hunt games i'm trying to run to the fort to pick up that weapon, the game i get it either no one comes to fight or i carry it around to the main boss to get sniped from miles away.
Seriously Great Idea....
Have the developers already discussed cross-platform progression?
I know this isn’t available right now, but is it being considered for implementation in the future?
Having played 800 hours on PS5 since the 2.0 update and planning to switch to PC, I’d be disappointed to lose all my progress.
Is there an official way to forward this request to the developers?
Thank you.
Why yes, I do enjoy the devil card
I just came to the fort to get my subsonic quest done, I left with the bounty and a slight improvement to my K/D
Interactive Compound Wishlist
Feeling a bit nostalgic for the electric generators that used to control the compound lights.
So, now I'm thinking of what other fun bits on certain compounds might be fun to interact with.
Healing Waters, Arden Parish, and First Testimonial already have bells.
So some potential ideas I have for interactions:
Mill Wheels: The wheels at Weeping Stone, Sweetbell, and Split River can be disengaged or engaged with a lever, creating the noise famous at Weeping Stone
Lumber Mills can have the saws turn on and off, making noise and being a hazard.
Foundries like the Iron Works and Brickworks can have the furnaces ignited or extinguished. When lit, they make a loud blowing burning noise as air is sucked in through the intakes.
Spotlights at the Railyard and Prison should have an actual blinding effect when aimed, but need to be actively held in order to keep them supported.
I wouldn't mind some of the cannons or certain emplacements retaining a charge and load from years back, but the placement should be random, and they can't be reloaded during the match.
Just my thoughts. I doubt any of them will actually come to pass, but they're fun to think about.
Any other ideas as to what compounds might have a cool interaction aspect?
