Strange and Vile Changes I would make to Hunt to the benefit of Myself Specifically

Hello. Hunt Showdown is my favorite game, and I spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about it. Here are 3 ways to make the game worse for everyone but me. I hope you find these ideas entertaining to think about.

I also would love to hear your similarly esoteric ideas that you recognize as a generally bad but would love anyways.

  1. Heavy melee with Poison, Fire, Flash, and Hive bomb now swings with the bomb directly, causing it to shatter and unleash the bomb's effect directly upon impact. Light melee would still be an anemic little punch.

  2. Martialist now allows you to wield a non-thrown melee tool (and maybe machete/sabre!) in your off hand when using one-handed items, such as pistols, revolvers, hand crossbow, and some possibly even some tools/consumables. To do this, you would first equip the gun, then press the button corresponding to the tool of interest. This would then bring you into this dual-wielded mode. You could then press the gun or the tool once more in order to swap exclusively to one or the other. While in this dual wielded mode, the weapon's light and heavy melee attack is overwritten by a melee strike from the tool, causing identical damage, stamina consumption, status effects, etc. Using this stance would disable fanning for single action revolvers while active.

  3. You gain a max ammo increase for having empty weapon slots (something like 5-10% per slot). This is to benefit freaks who only like to only bring in a couple revolvers, or a revolver and a melee weapon. It would also inadvertently benefit people who opt to bring no secondary. Picking up a weapon mid-game will immediately reduce this bonus accordingly, causing your overcapped bullets to vanish into the aether.

I Made an Interactive Quiz that Generates Strange RPG Character Stats

I'm working on a TTRPG system for a MUD-like RPG thing I plan to host one day before I grow weak and feeble. I am pretty proud of how it turned out, so I wanted to share it here.

I wanted character generation to be silly and cool, so I put together this semi-stylish, 15-question quiz which generates values for 7 stats (henceforth referred to as virtues).

Each question in the quiz has a raw value that it attributes towards 1-3 of the virtues. At the end of the quiz, the program uses EPIC MATHEMATICS to normalize the raw scores into values between 0-5. It then ensures that the total sum of virtue scores add up to 22 by arbitrarily distributing or removing a few points if necessary.

Finally, it reports these scores to the player as a series of weird looking in-universe symbols which add a layer of frustrating obscurity to you, the player. They can be translated to their numerical values using the hints provided in in the project description, if desired. Alternatively, if you post your results here, I will give you a reading. >:)

It will also output the player's chosen "Prophet," which is a little bit like a character "class," but a little more vibes-based than anything mechanical. Each prophet has variable-quality, digitally-painted Quin-art that will be displayed alongside the prophet name.

There are 22 possible Prophets in total, but each iteration of the quiz will only show you 5. This, paired with the arbitrary nature of the virtue-distribution above, means that every quiz session is a little unique, and you will often roll slightly different characters even if you choose all the same answers.

Let me know if you like this thing, or wanna learn more about the TTRPG project as a whole. It is my favorite thing to talk about.
