RTINGS was right about Hisense U7
Before buying this TV I went pretty deep into reviews, especially RTINGS and a few roundups like Tom’s Guide.
What stood out to me in the RTINGS review wasn’t just the score itself, but the overall verdict and breakdown. Things like strong HDR brightness for the price range, solid contrast performance with local dimming, decent black levels, and generally good gaming responsiveness with low input lag.
It was basically described as one of the stronger mid-range options if you care about brightness and overall value rather than perfect cinematic accuracy.
That said, I was still a bit skeptical because real world usage is usually very different from test charts. My living room is pretty bright during the day, and most of what I watch is compressed streaming content, so I wasn’t sure how much of that would actually translate.
After using the U7 for a while though, it actually lines up with a lot of what RTINGS pointed out. The brightness holds up well in daytime conditions, HDR content looks solid for the price range, and it feels very consistent without needing much adjustment.
Curious if anyone else here ended up buying based on RTINGS conclusions and felt it matched or didn’t match real world use?
