Issues with "crossposting" or "suggested communities" function being completely wrong

I run a few very niche and hyper-local subreddits. These are r/nolaparents and r/neworleansmarketplace. These subs are clearly labeled and are obviously hyper-local as parents in New Orleans and marketplace shoppers in New Orleans don't really care about what goes on outside of the city. My issue is that for the past few months, we've been getting posts, not cross-posts but actual posts where people from COMPLETELY different areas of the country/world are posting in these hyper-local subs. For example someone is asking about schools in Olympia Washington or someone is offering tutoring services...IN BRAZIL!

Why is this happening? Who asked for this? Why does the reddit algorithm not pay attention to basic details like location when suggesting new places to post? I know that reddit is trying to drive traffic and post counts going up looks good on quarterly reports...but come the F on.

At first it was comical, but now it's getting really annoying.

New Rule. NO AI SLOP!

AI slop needs to go, and it has no place here. If you post something with AI slop, it will be removed. If you continue to do it, you will be banned.

If you see something with AI slop, please report it and we will remove it.

I'm teaching my teenager how to cook rice and gravy, but they hate onions. What do I sub in?

I'm slowly teaching my teenager how to cook. I'm sticking with basic dishes that are relatively easy, require few things to clean and can be made in bulk for "cheap". My first lesson was red beans and rice, and the next will be a standard cajun style rice and gravy. My issue is that said teenager hates onions and may even be slightly allergic. I can leave them out with rb&r, but rice and gravy is a whole other thing.

With that said, what can I use as a substitute or what can I do to make a good rice and gravy without onions? Can I just add more bell peppers or different colors of bell peppers? Tomatoes?

They are fine with celery, bell peppers, garlic, carrots etc. Just no onions. Also, we will be starting with a pork chop rice and gravy, but the idea is to give them bases for a dish that can be altered in many different ways.

Gris Gris to close at end of July

Per their Insta

IMHO it was a very mid place. I went there a 2nd time during Coolinary to confirm my mid diagnosis and I got food poisoning. I'm sad for the employees there and hope to see something inspired take the space.
