Why do people lie about values?
Before i get downvoted to reddit hell, I am not talking about the people that don’t obsess and check values constantly. I’m also not talking about people using different value sites,
I’m talking about the people that insist they’re using [VALUE SITE] and proceed to lie about the values on there. I’m talking about how a low-value pet has oh so suddenly skyrocketed and i need to cough up an overpay while im sitting there with their value sites open and that is not at all what it says. I am always truthful about values, even when I’m under. I’m going to assume this is more common in richer players ingame. Despite not being rich, I still get these trades. To show you what i’m talking about, Heres a fairly recent (unfortunately real) interaction
”oh sorryy (pet) is 2 now. can u add the chicken?”
”last time i checked it was 0.27 i think..?”
”yea it shot up in value”
”oh, what values do you use?”
”elve!”
”im looking at elve and it says here (pet) is 0.24 and my chicken is 1.25, are you sure youre using elvebredd?”
proceed to an awkward silence and then a decline
am i missing something? do you get these types of trades or is it just me? is this a non issue?
