I’m M23 stuck between my girlfriend F21 and my best friend of 10 years M23, I don’t know what to do
So basically I’m stuck in the middle between my girlfriend F21 and my best friend of 10 years M23 and I don’t know what to do. My best friend reposted a TikTok that my girlfriend thought was misogynistic/offensive. She replied to him saying something like “you’re never getting a girl with that mindset.” Then my friend replied saying “I wouldn’t want to date a girl like you anyway.” My girlfriend got upset and came to me about it, saying she wants him to apologise. My friend says he doesn’t tolerate disrespect from anyone anymore and thinks she started it by commenting on his repost in the first place. Now I’m in the middle because I understand why my girlfriend got offended by the repost, but I also understand why my friend felt attacked. At the same time I think he went too far with the comeback. The problem is my girlfriend still brings him up sometimes and insults him to her friends and to me, and my friend sometimes rants about this to our boy friend group and he still stands by what he said and doesn’t think he should apologise. I don’t know how to handle both sides without upsetting one of them. Do you think my friend should apologise or was my girlfriend wrong for commenting on his repost? Also what would you do if you were stuck between your girlfriend and your best friend?
