I left Canada late November 2025, and had to file taxes manually from my country, then had my friend helped me mail my taxes. The NOA came back in July stating I'm owing them 10k, which isn't possible since my income was only around 45k. I did not have any investments, TFSA/RRSP or any other side businesses. I realized there might have been some miscalculations with my T1, so I applied for a reassessment. Aside from that, I've also filed another claim to request relief of interests. I have not heard back from them.

Will calling them directly help resolve this faster? Will they let me refile taxes and remove the false amount? I'm concerned even if the matter is dealt with, the interests still stand.
