Hey there, Bangalore friends! Are you interested in a plant or cutting swap?

[Location - Bangalore] I have a few plants I'd love to trade with someone, probably because I've accumulated quite a few and I'm running out of space. Some I want to give away because I can't care for them in the low-light environment at my place. What are your thoughts on plant swaps? Open to hearing how plant parents from other regions feel about it.

Cheap online plants are not always cheaper in the end [Location - Bangalore]

[Location - Bangalore] I recently started looking for plants online, and after a few mixed experiences, I am beginning to feel that if you have a decent nursery nearby, it is still the better option.

About a month ago, I ordered a Philodendron Micans sapling from The Affordable Organic Store for Rs. 69. Technically, yes, it was cheap. But the plant I received was barely alive, with just one leaf, and even that had turned yellow by the time it arrived.

Last weekend, I went to a nearby nursery (and I live in Bangalore) and found the same plant for Rs. 103. On paper, that sounds more expensive. But the nursery plant was much more mature, healthier, and something I could actually see before buying.

That made me wonder whether a lot of these “affordable” online plant deals are only cheap because you are getting tiny, stressed saplings that may or may not survive. If a nearby nursery gives you a fuller, healthier plant for a little more money, is the online option really cheaper at all?

Curious what others think: do you still buy plants online, or have you also found local nurseries to be a better value overall?
