You guys confirmed my bug - now I need reassurance that my life isnt about to fall apart😭

Found one bug after weeks of bites (i assumed mosquitos) but no signs of bed bugs- I desperately need advice and help, please. 😭

I feel like im about to snap 😭

I live in a duplex with four units and discovered a bed bug last night.

I tore apart my bedroom not too long ago to clean, the thought of bed bugs crossed my mind a couple weeks ago, stripped my mattess, took it off the frame and inspected it, and moved shit and vacuumed and moved stuff from under the bed and found no sign of bed bugs at all.

(I have no headboard or box spring, just a metal bedframe and a mattress, hardwood floors, it's a century old house)

I actually caught a mosquito and thought I found the culprit! Thinking it was just mosquitos getting in from my bedroom window AC unit after all the rain.

Found the bug crawling up on the couch last night.

Bagged up all my shit. Went to a hotel. Reported to my leasing office.

I still see absolutely zero signs of bugs anywhere. If I hadnt seen the adult bug last night and caught it and killed it (i kept it for evidence, confirmed its a bed bug), I wouldnt have thought anything of it.

Now...Im back home and just sobbing and dont know what to do.

I have to cut liners out of all my furniture and bag up all my shit and go to a laundry mat with absolutely everything I own to prep for extermination. (No on site laundry)

My property management company is currently working with pest control.

I dont have a ton of clutter or stacked clothing or anything, I keep a clean house with a lot of open space. It's an old duplex. All hardwood floors.

I feel like I just lost my life overnight. Nothing feels safe. I cant stop having panic attacks.

I just need to know that the pest control companies can handle it and that I dont have to abandon my whole life.

I just want to have hope. 😭 Hopefully it doesnt sound like a huge infestation? Please help. Success stories would be wonderful.

UPDATE 1: Pest Control is scheduled soon, they gave me guidelines to prepare for treatment.
