Could this be a shell/skin from a bedbug?
Found in a record sleeve, no other signs of bugs, but now I’m getting paranoid. The ”thing” is around 1.5 mm.

Hey guys,
My partner and I are quite familiar with bedbugs, we were plagued by them during our stay in China. We’ve been ever so careful as not to bring them home. But now… we find this creature on our bed most nights… it’s different than the ones we used to have but pretty much the same colour. What do you guys think?
so i moved into this brand new luxury apartment building about 5 days ago. i have never had bed bugs before in my life. i went to go take a nap this afternoon and saw a tiny speck on my headboard. i got it off with tape because i was scared it was a bed bug and sure enough. it wasn’t even 5 mm, maybe 2 mm and shed skin next to it. long story short, i disconnected the headboard and threw it out after covering it in plastic. washing and drying all of my bedding on hot. went to walmart and bought a zip up mattress cover. my bed is upholstered so the bottom is fabric as well, but i checked that and the mattress thoroughly and there was nothing. i covered my mattress during my move but my headboard was the only part that was uncovered during the moving process. my bed is about 6 feet from my closet. i work in healthcare and everyone knows our biggest fear is bedbugs and im quite literally freaking out. i have no bites myself. i ordered traps on amazon to lift my bed up on that will get here tmr. is there anything else i should be doing? do i need to wash all of my clothing? throw out the rest of my bedframe? thank you in advance for the advice.
How in the world is this not turning into a public health/financial crisis.
France alone is wasting so much money on this. Can't imagine how much China or the US have spent in the last years. ChatGPT says new treatments are not financially viable as research would put budgeting the ballpark of 1 billion euros.
How in the world are countries more comfortable wasting potentially tens of billions in the last 5 years when they could have all chipped in 1 billion together to put an end to this plague??
3 days of escalating bites overnight, find these lil round guys crawling away from the scene on the blanket in the morning. Bathed my dog and found them latched on between his toes. Did we stumble into a tick nest in the woods or are these bedbugs?
I spent yesterday following bedbug protocol, but wondering what I need to change if they are indeed nymph ticks.
Have been waking up with multiple bites this past week, failed to find anything so far. Found this crawling on my pillow this morning. Please help, is this a baby bed bug?
Found a small blob, smeared it and it looks like this
Found those underneath the bed of my airbnb after getting suspicious over the last few days (random spots on leg but nothing like those online, bloody spot on the sheets). Checked the matress and the headboard, nothing there as well but now those? Would appreciate some id'ing of those pics, i will be travelling home soon and would like to know if/what precautions i need (hopefully not) to take.
Kinda new to reddit so sorry if my post is weird/not right. So, some back story first. Never had bed bugs before. No signs or indications whatsoever leading up to this. Anyway, about a week and a half ago i woke up with 3 small itchy red spots in a line on my left forearm that looked like some kind of bite. As well as 2 side by side on my right forearm, and 2 side by side under my left collarbone. I sleep bunched up around with my arms folded so my forearms and chest/neck are always all right around each other. I had no other bites anywhere else at all and they didn’t have any other reaction. A few did swell a bit but nothing else. Just small red itchy bites. Again, no indication of bedbugs leading up to this so they didn’t even cross my mind. I also had slept with my window open that night and my assumption was that it was mosquito bites or something. I put rubbing alcohol on all the spots and continued doing that 2-3 times a day for about 4 days and they all went away. No additional spots/bites at all that whole time. They all went away eventually after the 4 days and i never got anymore. Still haven’t now either. There’s been no other bites whatsoever since those first ones. Well that was about a week and a half ago and i just came home from a bike ride and found the bug in the pic crawling on the outside of my pillowcase. Some googling indicated its most likely a female bed bug. Obviously my brains put 2 and 2 together now and i know the bites i had were most likely bed bug bites. But now I’m freaking out and trying to gauge how bad it could be. Everything I’ve searched says lone travelers/"hitchikers" are completly rare and that if you find one, there’s definitely more. I work overnights at a truck stop tho and you wouldn’t believe the things people track in with them. Is it possible its just the one? i searched my bed and floor and pillows and i didn’t find any other bugs at all anywhere, nor did i find any dark spots/smears, and i didn’t find any eggs or anything either. There’s no other signs anywhere at all. Just the one single bug crawling on the top of my pillow. And still no new bites since the ones a week and a half ago. Is it possible at all that it was just the one bug and its just been hiding or something since then? Or am i right to freak out and probably have a bigger problem? please help!! I’m absolutely panicking and any info/advice is appreciated!
Just got out of the shower and found it.
Hi all,
Me and two friends moved into a new flat in London in May. The first night we arrived, we found a live bedbug on the mattress of my room. Nothing had been moved into that room yet.
We immediately notified the landlord and the next day we had a pest control guy come and replace the bedframe, mattress and perform an insecticide spray in the room. They were gone for a week before I started being bit every night. We had to wait 3 weeks before he came and sprayed again. Even though I was being bit every day.
It has now been 4 months. We’ve effectively had one treatment a month. The bugs have moved to my flatmates room. And I found a live one in my room the other day. We believe they are in the walls or floorboards of our rooms. The hallway has carpet.
Our landlord has been booking the pest control, performing treatments and paying for them (as he is supposed to) and we get a 3 week period of waiting and hoping that they’re actually gone. They always come back.
The landlord is arranging a specialist to come inspect the flat. But we’re going to be pushing for a serious, more aggressive treatment like a fumigation or heat treatment. But it’s expensive and no landlord wants to spend that money.
He just suggested to us that if we want to move out we won’t have to pay rent while we look for a new place. We don’t want to do this, we have lucked out with the flat in price, location and a nice landlord. We don’t want to move, we want to get rid of the infestation.
What can we do?
Found this on my bed other week llms say it is not but am not convinced
Hello,
My boyfriend repeatedly got bitten/stung by an insect, causing rather bad rashes (he's also allergic to a lot of insect bites though). We do have rats (pets, not an infestation) and just found this louse (?) on his desk chair.
He also got bitten two weeks ago, he insecticed the entire apartment (he thought it might be bedbugs but hadn't seen anything), and then was gone for two weeks. Return yesterday night, new bites yesterday evening and today.
I have been bite-free so far. If you have any ideas what it could be, that would help us tremendously in trying to get rid of it.
So far, we're starting to wash everything in contact on 60°C and steam things.
Thanks a lot!
We have seen two adult bedbugs on our sofa in the past two weeks, shortly after I traveled and left suitcase nearby. Two exterminators have come out and can’t find any evidence of a breeding colony, eggs, droppings, etc in the sofa or bedrooms but both recommended treatment anyway.
Are these two molts anything suspicious? Would you pay for treatment?
