Is this a bed bug?

Found found on the frame of our bed. I can’t find a single other husk or Liv bug, but I have been getting little bites on my arms. The bites seem smaller than what most bedbugs cause but I have been so anxious and then I found this on our bedframe today.

Is this a bedbug? I checked the pinned ID guide and unfortunately it looks very similar to a 2nd instar...

Was working in my home office when I noticed this on my desk. I blew on it lightly and it started moving around. It was very small, around 2mm.

I checked the pinned bedbug ID post, and it looks quite a bit like a 2nd instar, due to its size and that triangular pattern on the abdomen: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CEz7hfdUEAE1Dwr.png

I couldn't count how many segments were on the antennae. These were the best photos I could get. I also captured a video: https://imgur.com/a/7gjVdoI

My girlfriend and I live together and neither of us have any bites. If it is a bedbug, what is the next step? Thank you very much in advance.

Mold or bedbugs? Rented a countryside house in Sweden

Rented a house in the countryside in Sweden. Noticed small black dots here and there on the mattress protectors. They’re completely dry — no smearing at all when I rub them with a wet wipe. Found them in two of the rooms, not just one.

The dots aren’t evenly spread. They come in two tight clusters. Some of the individual dots have frayed, blurry edges where they seem to have soaked into the fabric. Other than that we flipped the beds, checked all the seams, under the beds — no live bugs, no shells, no dots, nothing else.

Mold or bedbugs? What do you think?

I have some evidence and I have some questions.

Okay, So. I finally did a search of my couch seams.... I want to say "please don't tell me it's bedbugs", but...

If there's this many casings and multiple nymphs, how long do you think they've been around?

I didn't start noticing possible signs until around the latter end of a heatwave this past week and I didn't even notice any possible bites or anything until this morning.

I moved in here to my first apartment in March and that's when I got the couch second hand, too.

Could it have gone that long without me noticing it?

What should I do?

I know I have to tell my landlord, but I'm honestly scared. I've kept up my rent this whole time, and been an honest tenant, and my landlord seems to be a nice person. What do you think the likelihood of him evicting me for having these is?

I love where I live a lot. It's everything I was looking for in an apartment and I'm settled.

And I'm scared in general of the entire thing.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:

I've only seen anything on or around the couch in the living room.

Do I have to get rid of all of my fabric items? I keep most of my special ones up on a high shelf in my bedroom.

And I have a very important event in two weeks, do you think if I shower and put on clean clothes just before I leave I can still go to it?

Need help identifying tiny insect - worried about bed bugs

I know photos of damaged insects can be hard to identify, but I’m hoping someone can take a look.
I stayed in an Airbnb where I was concerned about possible bed bugs. I had bites. When I got home, I dried all of my clothes and bedding on high heat and moved into a home with brand-new furniture (new bed and couch).
Since then, I haven’t found a confirmed bed bug, cast skins, fecal spots, or eggs. I also haven’t had a clear pattern of new bites at home.
I found this tiny insect and took it under a microscope. Google Lens says it’s a bed bug nymph, but I’ve also found Reddit posts with what looks like the same insect where people identified it as a grain beetle or another small beetle.
Questions:
Does this insect look like a bed bug nymph, or does it look more like a beetle?
If it’s not a bed bug, what do you think it is?
Based on these photos alone, would you recommend continuing to monitor with interceptors, or would you already consider this enough evidence to call pest control?
Any help is appreciated. I’m trying to be objective and avoid overreacting, but I also don’t want to miss an early

Are there any bugs that look just like a bed bug in its 1st instar? (read body text)

So for context my dad house (my sister bed, not my bed) got infected with bed bugs so we went to my mom house for around a month while the house got treated. everything was fine and then we got back yesterday and i was just laying down in my bed with the lights on at around 10:30 and i saw a bug that looks just like the photo of the first instar on my pillow (transparent with blood in the body). i didnt snap a photo (i thought i did but it was so blurry) because i was panicked and just smashed it with the hardest thing i could find. there was a lot of blood that came out. i told my dad about it and he said he’d come look. so i told my sister and she showed me a bunch of photos and i said that the one in the first in star. we don’t know how it would have blood cuz no one was there for a month except my dad unless it bit me while i was still awake. i also have bites on my arms but they could be mosquito bites.

Found a bedbug…

Well…I’ve been getting mysterious bites on my arm for two weeks. Not every night, just a few nights. Checked multiple times for bed bugs and couldn’t find anything. Only noticed bites on the same arm every time it happened. This morning I roll over in bed and noticed my arm was super itchy again, I could feel a couple of new bites…turned my phone flashlight on and sure enough, there’s a bed bug right there on my pillow.

After a mild panic attack, I searched my entire bed and pillow. Can’t find a single sign of more bugs, but I know I should assume there are more. There is no poop or anything else. I don’t know if this is a male or female, or the age of it. I just know my child had them at her dad’s house two months ago and now they’re in my house. I can only imagine they’re upstairs in my daughter’s bed too if they’re in mine.

I can’t believe I’m dealing with this right now, I have been up for hours and it’s not even 7 am yet. I have a large household and don’t know how to handle all of this with very little money or help from anyone. There are multiple beds, furniture, so much bedding, clothes, etc. I just bought a brand new couch this year. I don’t have a dryer with heat at home. Spiraling thinking about everything that we could lose because of this.

I’m at a loss

To preface my partner and I live with her parents and they both refuse to do anything about the bedbugs. The most they have done is spray their mattress with $5 spray from Walmart. We have begged them to get an exterminator and they refuse because it’s too much money or they completely deny that we even have them anymore when I kill at least 5 daily. They still invite family over for get togethers or let people stay the night without even telling them. This is the most frustrating thing I’ve ever been through and I genuinely feel like I’m developing PTSD from this. Is there literally anything I can do to make them realize how bad this infestation is???

Bed bug nymph?

Help please! In my 4th week after exposure to bed bugs at a hotel and just found this tiny bug in my bed after going away for the weekend. Could it be a bed bug nymph? It seems to have either 6 legs and two antennae or 8 legs or maybe even more? The head area looks orange and the bottom looks darker. When I spotted it on my bed it looked bright red. Got it on a piece of tape upside down, so its back is harder to see, but it looks like it has two black dots mid-back. The first two photos show the belly side and the last two show the back through the translucent tape. Hard to get good pics of something this small, but I am scared any help appreciated!

What do we think?

Noticed a number of possible bites this morning. Found this guy after inspecting. He seems a little thin but wanted to get some further opinions.

I've no history of previous infestation and could find no further bugs/eggs/etc from the quick look around I've seen so far.

However there's the risk I get exposed to the bedbugs via work so I'm nervous about it.

Tiny orange bugs in bed.

Someone please tell me what this tiny creature is in my bed? They seem to magically appear 2-3 at random. It doesn’t look like bed bugs based on google searches.

What is it? Does it bite?

Say it ain’t so

My GF found this today. We leave for vacation on Friday.

Edit: I have very intense OCD around infestations, Bed Bugs being one of my biggest fears. I need to know if it is unrealistic to resolve this before Friday. I straight up will not let my GF into my house if I’m not confident it’s safe. I will cancel the trip. Please, if I get bedbugs it will send me into a month long spiral

Found this crawling in my bed this morning, the day after getting back from camping.

I went camping in the new forest Saturday night and got back Sunday afternoon. We did a few long walks (me and my dog). Went to bed early Sunday night and for context my dog sleeps in my room, on the bed (I know, I know, not ideal). When I got up this morning at 5am I saw this out the corner of my eye. It was bright red and about 1-2mm. I had to take a photo of it to zoom in. Google and ChatGPT says it’s a bed bug so I of course am freaking out. My bedding has been put on a 60 degree wash as will all my other clothes. I’ve inspected the mattress and I can’t see any droppings, or other bugs. Is it possible this was a hitchhiker after my camping trip? I’ll be getting pest control out anyways just to be on the safe side.

ID Check Please

Yay? Nay? I’ve seen a lot of this type of bugs everywhere, but I am hoping it ain’t so.

That being said, I’m inclined to think that it is.

NE Pennsylvania.

Thanks in advanced.

Bed bugs or carpet beetles? Or something else?

Hello people of reddit,

long explanation following but we suspect we might have bed bugs, professionals however have told us (based on all except the last two photos) that it‘s more likely to be carpet beetles. If you have any knowledge of either, please give us some feedback/estimation!

I got a couple of bites/red marks about a week ago, thought it was mosquitos bites first (spend a couple days in a row at the lake) but I woke up every morning with new ones, a couple of them in „clusters“ and a short google research later, everything pointed towards bed bugs :( we searched the bedroom and actually found some sheds/skins in the bedframe, later on also at the couch. We immediately called exterminators and got scammed by a firm not actually certified to do exterminations.
We called some more professional firms since then but it’s super hard to get an appointment rn. However we send them photos and they said they thought it was much more likely to be carpet beetles, since we haven’t been traveling or getting new furniture or had someone over who was known to have bed bugs and they are super uncommon to have in private households (based in Germany). We also found dark stains in the storage unter the bed and a pillow, but both haven’t been checked/cleaned in a long time and they told us it could be mold too (see pictures).
Today we checked the traps we bought and found a tiny beetle (nymphe?) in one of them and one very light colored one on the wall. No other live carpet beetles or bed bug so far.
We‘re going crazy rn waiting for an exterminator to come check, not knowing if we are dealing with bed bugs or not, constantly washing everything we wore on high heat and sleeping on the couch.

If you think you can give us an educated estimation, please help! Thank you!!!
