Constant drop outs
I just switched to Fios after 14 years of being an optimum customer about a week ago. It just came into my area. Got the 1GB service and I was so excited to switch but I’m already regretting it.
I was told by the guy who sold me on it and the guy who installed it I would never have to worry about connection loss or slow speeds.
15 minutes after the tech left, the internet went out. After hours of rebooting, etc. it came back for another 15 minutes and went out again. Chatted with support, they sent the same tech the next day. He switched some dongle in back of the ONT, telling me they break all the time, even right out of the box. Not what I wanted to hear, but okay. Internet was back and it was fast. Awesome.
That smoothness lasted about 24 hours. Since then my service drops out multiple times a day. My Alexa’s are constantly telling me they have a problem, can’t stream a full movie a lot of the time without losing connection. Total nightmare. Never thought I’d go back to optimum, but I may have to. Before I call support again, is there anything I can try on my own to resolve the issue?
