My 18 month old was diagnosed today
Hi all,
I don't know how to feel. My 18th month old was diagnosed today but won't be given a level until he is 3 years old.
I saw it coming. I saw the signs. I knew he is autistic. But it still hurts to see it on paper. It still hurts to read he has the language level of a 5 month old. The social skills of a baby.
The doctor also said he lacks stimulation. I feel like shit because that is my freaking fault, I solo parent every day from 7 am to 8 pm, I'm a sahm, and still wasn't able to correctly stimulate my son. That was my responsibility.
We are going to start therapy 3 times per week, I just hope the world is kind to him.
