Spurs/Wolves might be the only good series in the second round but damn is this some good basketball
Knicks/sixers, just blowout after blowout. Same with Thunder/Lakers. Pistons will probably just close it out in 5, but, even if not, Cavs just suck to watch play basketball
But at least 3/4 Spurs/Wolves games have just been incredible basketball. I love watching every single player on both teams. Everyone plays so hard. Here’s hoping Edwards stays healthy and Wemby doesn’t get suspended so we get more
I wish often that I had majored in english in college, but I know my school didn’t really emphasize this generalized understanding of the canon anyway. But, reading comments or essays by people who are always throwing out these names and what they represent and their various ideas or arguments on how imagination affects the perception of reality whatever… I wish I had that kind of encyclopedic understanding.
So what should I read to help increase that understanding ? I’ll even just read a textbook if that’s the best option.
Like I said, I’ve started “the western canon” by Bloom. It’s a bit more polemical (dare I say whiny?) than I expected. Even if I ultimately agree with his point about the canon, I feel that he’s a bit reductive when talking about its critics. But I’m mostly just ignoring those sections in the name of the descriptive content anyway. I’ll probably finish it, but what else should I read?
I’m just warning the sensible people here. With Ant and Divencenzo gone and Reid injured, the timberwolves have basically lost all their offensive firepower and the nuggets should almost be expected to take this to at least game 7. If they manage to win, which they very well may with all these injuries, people will scream and shout at you that this is more evidence of Jokic being a top 10 player of all time. All your favorite podcasts will only barely mention the actual context of the series when it’s over, but even worse will be the Jokic stans on reddit and social media
I’m sorry everyone but saying he doesn’t deserve as much credit for beating the timberwolves without 2/3 best offensive players and a 6th man of the year clearly hobbles does not make me a Jokic hater. It just does not.
