(TLDR): Is this jar safe for vanilla extract making. Also cheap vodka bad?

I’m trying to make my own vanilla extract and I’m curious if this jar is safe to do it in. The pictured jar will be my mother jar that I take from but the label says that it’s not for preserving? Will this jar still be safe for the application? I assumed since I’m not sealing the jar and just fermenting in it then it should be safe but I wanted a second opinion. Also if anyone has any better option on a good cooking vodka for this purpose I’m all ears because this is the only non-flavored vodka the store had
