How come I can take food out from home in morning and eat lunch with no problems?

People say you can’t take meat out for more than a few hours before it goes bad but for example:

I have a BBQ

Cooked chicken, beef ribs, vegetables.

It’s in my fridge at home. I leave at 8am with it in a lunch bag not insulated/cold. Eat around 12-1pm and it’s fine. It’s not sitting in a fridge either. Am I missing something?

Edit: it makes me think of all the food I see in places like south east Asia or Latin America, not just the street food as that’s often continuously heated but lots of food is sitting in warm enviroments outside

Fibers found in Schneiders Chicken Dip

I was eating this dip when I noticed these fibers. There are hundreds of them. It doesn't look like stretched cheese or chicken. They don't break easily.

Does anyone know what these fibers are?

What’s the prognosis here - ground beef burger

Post locked - plz message if you have advice!!

Cooked yesterday on grill by a friend, internal temperature was never checked. Sat on counter for 30-40 minutes before going in fridge.

I packed for my lunch today and reheated in microwave.

It wasn’t until I had already eaten most of it that I looked down and noticed how pink it was… convinced myself it was fine and kept eating.

Showed these photos to coworkers who said I should not have eaten.

What to expect? Likelihood this doesn’t end well for my stomach or toilet? Hahaha

I love this weekend and have the busiest work week ever.

Anything I can do now?

Left Chick Fil A (mac cheese, fries, nuggets) in warm/hot car for 20-30 minutes. Is it safe?

Hi all! I picked up some Chick Fil A for me and my kids (age 1 and 3).Food items were Mac and Cheese, nuggets, and fries. Ran into Costco on the way home and ended up inside for about 25-30 minutes. Thought I left food in the car with AC running but it seems like the AC cut out while I was inside. Turned on AC on blast immediately upon returning to car and we all ate the the food as soon as we got home, which was a total of about 1.5 hours after we picked it up from the resteraunt. At first I thought the food is definitely ok since it was less than 2 hours after getting it but now with the hot car excursion im not so sure. It is about 85-90 F outside, not sure exactly how warm the car got while I was gone. Felt warm but not super hot when we returned.

Thoughts? Was this likely ok or no? 😆

Should I wash this lettuce?

Was sitting at my counter eating lettuce from this container when a thought occurred to me: is lettuce clean? According to google, lettuce is generally not considered clean when purchased, and it’s best to wash and dry all lettuce in a salad spinner, even prepackaged “triple washed” lettuce. Is this really necessary, and if so, why?

Looking back at the container in front of me I can see that it clearly states “no need to wash” on the front, but now I’m not so sure. I found a small fly in this lettuce the other day, which isn’t unheard of but still it got me thinking, maybe I should’ve been washing it this whole time?

What’s inside my chicken gizzard?

I slow cooked some chicken gizzards of various sizes. There were some large ones that still came out relatively firm after 5hrs of cooking. I decided to cut them into slices and put them back in the oven to tenderize them a little more. One of the larger ones wasn’t just fibrous but had “stuff” inside it. What is this stuff and should I scoop it out and discard it?

Is this safe to eat?

Hi I’m new here. My family member was gifted a ham since this person works at a food bank.

I’m being instructed to cook it but I notice the ham looks weird. I’m not sure though since I don’t eat meat, so I’m not used to what it should normally look like.

Some parts had meat juice inside and a little slimy in other areas.

Also the ham was refrigerated and sealed the entire time but it’s past its use by date of 7 days. Plus this product says there’s no preservatives.

I really have no idea about this situation. Please advise. They want to feed the dogs some of this as well.

Dent to worry about?

I only noticed this on the bottom of canned tomatoes after I poured it into my dish. Is this a dent to worry about or considered unsafe, considering the location? The smell is almost metallic/acidic, but I can’t tell if it’s the fact that it’s tomatoes or due to bacteria from the dent

Possibly printed wrong?

Got this antipasto platter delivered today (19th May) on my food shop from Asda, the use by says 1st May. Surely there’s no way there would be back stock from that long ago on the shelf still? Is it possible it was printed wrong? I had a slice of salami before I noticed and it didn’t taste or smell bad. I’m guessing I should probably throw it away🥲 But is it possible that it’s still okay to eat?

to serve or not to serve.

I made my birthday cake on Saturday and there’s a lot of leftover. I decided to make cake pops for a party that I found out today about happening on Thursday. I rolled out the cake, should I freeze them and then thaw tomorrow night to be on the safe side? It’s been in the fridge the whole time. No fresh fruit fillings or other fillings, just red velvet cake (which was a bit dry to begin with) and ermine buttercream. It's been in the fridge the entire time except when I cut it so out for like 2-3 hours total.

Still Good?

For starters, I do apologize in advance because I’m sure this type of question has been asked before but this seems like a little different scenario.

Picture this. You are staying at your in-laws house. You love your in-laws very much so you have a great dinner of ham, squash casserole (fantastic if you’ve never heard of it, but that’s a different thread), and homemade Mac and cheese. You all decide to drive to a town 20 minutes away to watch a movie. When you return home, you find that your in-laws have covered the Mac and cheese with tin foil and left it in the oven (turned off) while you were gone because it was far too hot to put in the fridge. You go ahead and take it out of the cold oven and find that it’s still somewhat warm after about three and a half hours. You put it in the fridge to hopefully preserve it and post on Reddit about it later.

Would you still eat that Mac and cheese?

Brown fuzzy stuff in tangerines

I've opened 3 tangerines from the same bag and they all have these brown fuzzy stuff and some brown beads in the middle. I have eaten a lot of tangerines in my lifetime, and they never have this brown thing. FWIW, the tangerines don't have any visible damage on the outside. They smell normal.

I've heard about endoxerosis. Is this that? Or is it mold?

Newly opened Aldi applesauce. Is this bad or just some sloppy packaging?

It smells the fine/the same. The seal wasn’t broken that I could tell
