Lunch left out

I have emetaphobia and I forgot to pack an ice pack in my kids lunch box this morning. I packed cottage cheese, sliced cheese, summer sausage, watermelon and grapes. Should I be worried? It was in her lunchbox for about 4.5 hours before she ate it.

This is not okay, right?

The chef was trying to tell me this was perfectly sanitary and I feel gaslit. That bin is a bussing bin we use for dirty dishes and I don't know if he cleaned it, and he took the chicken out of the plastic packaging it was in so it was in contact with the bin and the water directly

A lot of white "stuff" floating around in my store bought cabana lemonade?

I had a bit of it and it tasted fine enough, but not really quite what I was expecting it to taste like. I then saw there was a whole lot of this white stuff that sorta looked like mold, but I'm not sure if that's just pulp?

Dried prunes in honey syrup turned into this (?)

So for morning smoothies I like prunes to be soft and easy to blend so I put them in a homemade honey syrup. This time I had boiled the water, mixed with honey and added prunes. Left for vacation for two weeks with apartment at 81f (27c) and came back to this beautiful organism on top of the prune/syrup mixtures and flipped it on its back.

I suppose it's yeast? There are three gorgeous layers to this:

  1. The walnut looking part
  2. The granular clumps
  3. The beautiful black powder on top

Can someone explain what happened? Tempted to still eat the prunes but know it's a bad idea.

Could I still cook and eat these brussel sprouts? Kept in the fridge, currently raw

Wanting to bake them at 350 for 15 minutes, simple seasonings. They smell like brussel sprouts, just amplified, none of them are super bad or slimy.

Yum, pink chicken 🤢

Got a chicken burger, had a couple of bites and asked the server if it should be that pink. He said they cook everything to a set temperature for a set time, but offered to put it back on. It came back really dry with the breadcrumbs basically burnt. He then said I could keep that one or switch to a beef burger. I went with the chicken.
My father mentioned it was probably frozen, which can sometimes leave it looking pink even when cooked. It was still pretty hot when I ate it, but the texture wasn’t tender and the coating tasted burnt.
Anyone have experience with chicken burgers coming out pink like that, or know why places know it's safe to serve them that way? Curious if this can lead to food poisoning. Got a flight tomorrow so hoping tonight goes smoothly.

Spaghetti squash has bad spots on them, is it mold?

I had them for less than a mth, its about 78f where i live

Are they safe to consume? I removed the sticker from the other as that was where the bad spot was and on the 2nd squash it had 2 bad spots with the 2nd spot being under the sticker and that looked the worst

What is this in my hard boiled eggs?

Y’all I’m stressed! I ate part of this rubbery substance in my fully cooked hard boiled eggs. It was in a pocket not near the yolk. I tossed the rest but did have a nibble. Anyone with chickens have an idea?

Is it safe to eat parma ham that was left out overnight?

Bought it at 9pm and forgot about it, woke up and put it in the fridge at 11am/12pm. It's in my fridge right now, unopened. Is it still fine to eat or nah ?

Left my pasta out

I spent 4 hours making a bolognese sauce last night, put it away in a container and somehow forgot to put it in the fridge. I just realized and put it in, but at this point it’s been sitting out for about 13 hours. The container was sealed, and when I first put the sauce in it was pretty straight from the stove so pretty hot. Should I throw it out

Aluminum foil melted on cornbread?

Last night I made cornbread in a cast iron skillet. Covered it with aluminum foil after we were done eating and it was pretty much completely cooled. Just got home from work, went to get a piece of cornbread and it almost looks like the aluminum foil “melted”? onto my cornbread??? All of the little grey/metallic spots on the cornbread perfectly match up with the holes in the foil. It was also covered by a second layer of aluminum foil bc a single piece wasn’t wide enough to cover the entire skillet, the holes are only in spots that were covered by the second layer so I know that there’s no way something hot got onto it, the holes weren’t through both layers. Can someone please tell me what the hell happened?

Is this jar safe to use?

(TLDR): Is this jar safe for vanilla extract making. Also cheap vodka bad?

I’m trying to make my own vanilla extract and I’m curious if this jar is safe to do it in. The pictured jar will be my mother jar that I take from but the label says that it’s not for preserving? Will this jar still be safe for the application? I assumed since I’m not sealing the jar and just fermenting in it then it should be safe but I wanted a second opinion. Also if anyone has any better option on a good cooking vodka for this purpose I’m all ears because this is the only non-flavored vodka the store had

m&ms left outside overnight in the rain

I ordered some snacks last night via delivery but fell asleep before they were delivered. Woke up this morning and it had rained last night. The bag with the m&ms was under my porch so it only got slightly damp, but my m&ms now have slightly discolored. It was also fairly hot last night (108f≈42c) and even hotter today so maybe that’s why? I’ve already eaten half the bag and they taste almost normal , besides being a little less sweet than typical. the thing is I ordered 3 more bags and don’t want to have to throw away so much candy. is it safe to consume?
