MacBook Air M1 display changes colour depending on lid angle — flex cable or display?
I have a MacBook Air M1 and recently started having a display issue. The screen changes colour/glitches when I move the lid to certain angles. When I move it back, the display becomes normal again.
I took it to a local laptop service shop in Chennai and they told me I need to replace the entire display. I don’t want to replace the whole display without knowing if that’s actually necessary.
I’ve seen similar issues where people mentioned the display flex/ribbon cable or connector.
Has anyone with an M1 MacBook Air experienced something similar? Was it the flex cable/connector or did you actually have to replace the display?
I’m looking for a technician in Chennai who can properly diagnose the issue and, if possible, repair the cable/connector instead of replacing the entire display.
