Home office with limited space

Made a home office work with only 1.6 × 2 meters

With a kid on the way, we’ve had to rethink how we use the rooms in the house. I ended up giving up most of the available space in my office for other things, leaving me with a little 1.6 × 2 meter footprint for my actual workspace.

I managed to fit in a sit-stand desk, a comfortable chair, some bookshelves, and a few posters/decorations without making the space feel completely cramped. It’s obviously not the biggest home office, but I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

The biggest challenge was finding the balance between keeping it functional and still making it feel like my space. The books and posters help a lot with that — otherwise it would just feel like a desk squeezed into a corner.

It’s definitely a downgrade in square meters, but an upgrade in motivation knowing I’m making room for the little one.

Curious what you guys think.

Last month's haul

Hi guys, after seeing so many of you getting lucky in thriftstores i tought i'd give it a go. At first I didn't find anything good, but after a couple of duds I finally got lucky and found the start of my CD collection. (Not all in one place, I'm not THAT lucky)

What do you guys think?
