Hearing device recommendations for healthcare workers using stethoscopes?
I work in the emergency department, and my mild-to-moderate hearing decline is becoming a serious source of anxiety. Between the blaring monitors, overhead pages, and general chaos, I am terrified of mishearing critical verbal medication orders.
My primary dilemma is compatibility with my medical equipment. If I get the typical over-the-ear (RIC) devices, I won't be able to insert traditional stethoscope earpieces. I know digital Bluetooth stethoscopes are an option now, but which hearing aid brands actually connect to them instantly without frustrating lag or dropping the signal?
Alternatively, are there any deep-fitting in-ear (ITC) styles that leave enough room in the canal for a standard stethoscope to seal properly? I absolutely cannot afford to drop thousands of dollars on a setup that slows me down during a critical patient assessment. What is the current go-to setup for medical professionals dealing with this?
