A piece I finished this evening 💗
I recently got back into arts & crafts. I felt like maybe a bit of nostalgia would do me right. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Any and all tips and advice would be grateful!
I’m still a bit in shock while writing this out, but I should probably start from the beginning. We moved to an island in the pacific (Guam) for my husband’s work almost three years ago. We are only here temporarily as his job requires us to move a lot, but his job put us into a housing unit that was built around the 40’s or 50’s. We had read stories online and in local groups about how ‘haunted’ these houses are, but we didn’t really think too much of it and didn’t mind living in one since we’d only be here for a set period of time. Around 6 months into living in this unit we were settling down for bed, got our toddler to sleep typically around 7:30-8 PM and afterwards we usually just binge some shows or game for a bit until about 10-11 PM ish. We were sitting on the couch talking about the series we were bingeing at the time and got interrupted by a super loud stomping noise outside our toddlers bedroom followed by what i believe to be a child’s laugh? If I had to describe it better it sounded more like something mimicking a child’s laugh because it started off deeper and ended in the same tone as a child (maybe like 4-8 years of age) would laugh like. I got up to see if our toddler was awake, but our toddler was still out cold. I instantly knew something wasn’t right. My husband who had also heard it was trying to brush it off as maybe one of our toddlers toys going off. I wasn’t buying it, because I didn’t know what toys our toddler had that would stomp like that?
The next day I figured i’d find the culprit of the noise since it had me a bit on edge the entire night prior but after going through our toddlers entire room I found no source to the sound. It had me a bit uneasy. Our toddler didn’t sleep with a TV on or any sort of sound devices. Just the usual ceiling fan to help make a source of white noise. I informed my husband of my findings, but was told that i was thinking about it too much. I eventually let it go, cause maybe I was just thinking about it too much.
Fast forward a year later, my toddler starts mentioning they’re scared to sleep by themself in their room anymore. I didn’t think too much of this as maybe it was just a phase that most kids go through, but they would mention monsters and such. I still didn’t think too much of it, and explained how they’re safe because they’re always with us and that no monsters could get them even if they tried because they’d have to go through me and my husband, etc. Then one morning during breakfast a couple weeks later my toddler started mentioning how ‘monsters were just friends and how they won’t hurt us because they’re always with us.’ I tried asking them what they meant and they said “they’re always with us when we are all together at home. they even watch us while we sleep so we are safe.” I looked at my husband, but he just shrugged it off. I didn’t think too much of it, because at least our toddler wasn’t scared to sleep in their room at night anymore.
Now to get to the latest situation. It’s the weekend, and my husband gets called into work around 9 PM ish, and our toddler is already asleep. I was finishing up a painting I had begun earlier in the day and my toddler wakes up and wants to join me in bed. I don’t mind because my husband won’t be home until the morning anyways. We get situated and comfy in my room and my toddler is already falling asleep beside me, and around 11:26 PM we get awoken to what started off as a hysterical child’s laughter sourcing from her room that turned into what sounded like some form of a child speaking gibberish??? My toddler beside be in bed sits up and says “Mama, who is that?” and mind you I’m in complete shock because I have zero idea what on earth could’ve made that noise. We have zero TV’s on, still no toys that could make those noises, no switches/tablets/etc on besides my phone that was in my hand. All I could do after hearing that was stand up and walk to my bedroom door and lock it. I walked back to my bed and sat there in shock making sure my toddler was comfortable enough to go back to bed.
I don’t know if anyone has had a similar situation like this occur, but I’m begging for advice. I’ve tried telling whatever this is to leave our house in the past. I can’t even have guests over without them mentioning if i’ve had ‘chilling encounters’ with paranormal here. It’s almost like you can feel it in the air when you walk in this house. Like you just feel like you’re not alone no matter what room you’re in.
I’ve tried contacting the housing office that runs our unit about changing units, but for different reasons. I fear mentioning this situation to them or to anyone because I don’t want people to think I’m crazy? I don’t know what to do about it anymore. Do I just wait it out one more year, because we leave this island in a year anyways? Any advice helps and is appreciated. Thank you.
