May ‘26 Instructure Hack Phishing Email.
Did anyone else who is currently going to/did go to TSC get this email?
I got a financial aid refund email from Instructure (Canvas) a few minutes ago. The sending email is real/correct BUT the sender couldn’t be verified, and it doesn’t show recipient info so I can only assume that the email headers are being spoofed and the email was formatted horribly? I could be wrong on this part though, I’m not an expert in this area.
To me this was obviously fake but I’m sure to some this may not be. Think people, why would Instructure be emailing you about aid, the email has no body and only an attachment, said links in the attachment is wrong and not the real site for TSCs refund service, you never have to manually claim/verify or click a link to approve a financial aid refund and on top of that, for me, the refund amount in said attachment is more than my aid for this summer in general.
I know this is r/fsu but I’m an FSU student taking classes at TSC this summer and I know there are others in the same situation. Plus I’m sure this wont be an isolated thing to just TSC.
