I just can't figure Phoelix out! What's his deal?
He's supposed to be the counterpart of Phoebe, the most honest, down to earth princess in Ooo. Despite this, he doesn't seem to adopt a lot of her qualities, more specifically, regarding his romantic relationships.
He breaks up with Fionna (in a text message of all things) because his feelings were getting too intense, starts dating a girl who looks almost exactly like Fionna, begins falling in love with Fionna again while in a relationship with Fennel, and doesn't even push back when Fionna kisses him.
Fionna and Phoelix turned out to be a better example of a toxic relationship than Finn and Phoebe ever could've been. And in an ironic twist, the Flame Prince ended up blowing it with both girls.
Phoebe would never do something like that. I have a couple of theories, but other than that, what could their connection possibly be?
