Estamos próximos a migrar a Texas desde México por trabajo. Yo con visa TN y mi esposa con TD. El tema que tenemos es el siguiente específicamente con nuestros vehículos.

Yo tengo un Kia K4 GT Like turbo 2026 aún financiado lo saqué literal en diciembre, no debo mucho ya que si un 75-80% de enganche no recuerdo bien. Pero no es mucho lo que debo en cantidad máximo 180-200. Asegurado por la financiera obviamente, al ser financiado ellos ponen el seguro, el cual pago de contado.

Mi esposa tiene una Kia Seltos 2024, pagada y asegurada por nuestra cuenta.

Mi idea es andar con los vehículos mexicanos 1 año como máximo pero pues ahora si que no se que tanto riesgo corro. Se que migratorio no es tema es de multas principalmente.

Mis preguntas son

1. ¿Puedo contratar algún seguro extra para mis vehículos para cubrir esa parte en USA?
2. ¿En cuánto tiempo aprox puedo aplicar para otro carro dado basado en el credit score?
3. Alguna recomendación en específico para evitar multas o algo similar

Viajó de Coahuila, estado colindante con Texas. He viajado muchas veces con mis placas y no he tenido problemas sin embargo no he durado más de 1 mes. Tengo entendido que la ley de Texas te permite hasta 30 días. El objetivo que tengo es intentar tener un buen credit score para aplicar a un buen crédito y sacar carro. Sin embargo no sé en cuánto tiempo se consigue, haciendo eso ps vendería los carros en sin problemas. Solo me gustaría saber si experiencia sus recomendaciones.

I’m looking for experiences from people who had to deal with a TN visa appointment that was later than their planned job start date.

I have accepted a U.S. job offer with a start date of September 28. Right now, the earliest TN appointment I can find is around December.

I’m working with an agency that is actively trying to move my appointment to an earlier date. They are very optimistic that they will be able to significantly reduce the wait time, but of course there is no guarantee.

I have already discussed the situation with my recruiter both on a call and by email, so they are aware of the visa timing issue. So far, they have not mentioned moving my start date or suggested that my offer is at risk.

My main concern is what happens if I still cannot get the TN before September 28.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Did your employer simply move the start date until the visa was approved, or was there a real risk of losing the offer?

For anyone who has gone through this with a large U.S. employer, how flexible were they with visa-related delays?

I’m doing everything possible to get an earlier appointment, but I’m still worried about the possibility of a delay of several weeks or even a couple of months.

Any experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Estoy tramitando mi visa TN y la TD de mi esposa en México y tuve un problema con el pago MRV que actualmente no me permite agendar la cita.

El monto total que debía pagar por ambas solicitudes era de $6,660 MXN. Hice el pago en Scotiabank, pero el banco cometió un error y procesó inicialmente $6,600 MXN, por lo que en el sistema apareció un faltante de $60 MXN.

En cuanto vi el problema regresé al banco. Ellos reconocieron el error y corrigieron la transacción.

Actualmente ya tengo el comprobante bancario donde aparece el pago correcto de $6,660 MXN.

Sin embargo, en el portal de visas sigue apareciendo:
Monto a pagar: $6,660 MXN
Monto recibido: $6,600 MXN
Faltante: $60 MXN
Estado: Payment Error

Contacté a soporte y les envié los comprobantes corregidos. Primero me dijeron que no volviera a pagar, ya que habían escalado el caso al departamento de MRV.

Después me respondieron que debía pagar los $60 MXN restantes y que habían generado una nueva ficha de depósito, la cual supuestamente enviaron al correo asociado a mi cuenta.

El problema es que nunca recibí esa ficha. Ya revisé bandeja de entrada, spam, correo no deseado y todas las carpetas. También les pedí que me la reenviaran.

A estas alturas no me importa pagar otros $60 MXN aunque el banco ya haya corregido el pago original. Lo único que quiero es que se libere el sistema para poder agendar mi cita.

¿A alguien le ha pasado algo similar?
¿Saben cuánto tarda normalmente el departamento de MRV en corregir este tipo de errores?
¿Hay alguna otra forma de obtener la ficha de depósito o pagar la diferencia si nunca llega el correo?

Cualquier experiencia o recomendación me ayudaría mucho. Gracias.

Estoy en proceso de solicitar una visa TN en México y ya terminé mi DS-160. Ahorita estoy en la parte de pago y programación de cita.

Tengo dos dudas para quienes hayan pasado por esto recientemente:

1. ¿Cuánto tardó en reflejarse su pago por SPEI en el sistema de citas? ¿Fue cuestión de horas, el mismo día o tardó 1–2 días hábiles?
2. ¿Alguien ha logrado adelantar o expeditar una cita para visa TN en México?

Tengo una fecha de inicio laboral próxima en Estados Unidos y cuento con oferta laboral y soporte migratorio de la empresa/despacho, así que puedo comprobar la urgencia.

Si alguien logró adelantar su cita, me ayudaría mucho saber:

• ¿Primero agendaron la cita más cercana disponible y después solicitaron expedite?
• ¿Qué justificación o documentos presentaron?
• ¿Cuánto tardaron en responder?
• ¿Pudieron adelantar también a su esposa/esposo con visa TD?
• ¿Tuvieron más suerte revisando cancelaciones constantemente?
• ¿En qué consulado encontraron mejor disponibilidad?

Me interesan especialmente experiencias recientes, porque entiendo que los tiempos y disponibilidad cambian mucho.

I signed my offer about a week ago and everything else is moving forward, but EY Immigration has been completely unresponsive.

They initially opened my case under the wrong visa category. I emailed them to clarify, called their office, and was told to send another email, but I still haven’t received a response.

I already contacted my recruiter for support, but I’m concerned because immigration is probably the longest part of the onboarding process.

Has anyone dealt with EY Immigration through Tesla? How long did they usually take to respond or correct a case? Is there anything else I should be doing?

I recently accepted an offer with Tesla and I currently live and work in Mexico. I just submitted my background check through Employment Screening Services (ESS), and I’m curious if anyone here has gone through the same process while living outside the US.

The background check seems pretty straightforward, but I’m a little confused about the drug test process. During the ESS application, I was asked for my home shipping address and phone number, and the instructions seem to indicate that a drug testing kit will be shipped to me, followed by instructions for a collection site.

For anyone who completed Tesla’s pre-employment process from outside the US:
Did ESS actually ship a drug test kit to your home?
Did you then take the kit to a local lab/collection site?
How long did it take to receive the kit and instructions?
How long did the international background check take overall?
Did ESS contact your employers/university directly?
Were you asked to provide any additional documents?
What happened with your start date if the background check, immigration/work authorization, or other pre-employment steps were not completed by the original start date?
Did Tesla automatically move your start date, or did you have to contact your recruiter/HR to get it updated?

I already have a tentative start date, but since the process involves international background screening and work authorization, I’m not sure what happens if everything isn’t completed by then.
Mainly trying to understand what the process looks like from this point forward for an international candidate.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some insight from people who have been through Tesla’s hiring process.

I recently completed all interview rounds for an manufacturing engineering position.

After the final interviews, the recruiter called me and said they wanted to move forward. During that call, they asked me to send my career summary, education summary, relocation information, and a few examples of my accomplishments. I sent everything back the same day.

A few days later, another Tesla recruiter reached out to me about a different position, so I let my current recruiter know because I wanted to be transparent.
He replied:
“We’re working on approvals, probably want to hang tight.”

It’s now been about a week since that message with no further updates.

I’m curious if anyone has experienced something similar.

How long did approvals take in your case?
Is a week of silence after “working on approvals” fairly normal?
Did it eventually result in an offer?

I’m not looking for reassurance—I’m just trying to understand whether this timeline is common or if approvals usually move faster.
