Canadian Rockies Study

Finally done, at least for now. Not sure if I'm satisfied with the brook. It was the last thing I did bc I was very unsure how to do water with pens and I knew I had one shot as I could only use the lightest gray pen. Oh btw... My first image using light gray, medium gray and black. So there was a lot of learning going on here.

I also found that my flatbed scanner does a terrible job reproducing this piece. It pushes the contrast so that medium and black pen marks appear the same color. if anyone has pointers on how to digitize this let me know. I'll add a post of the reproduction and a post of the artwork above with pens I used to produce it. The image above made with my phone.

If you feel moved to do so, let me know your thoughts.

Canadian Rockies in 3 levels of grey, light, medium, black fine liner.

Haven't posted for a long time.

I'm about 8 hours in on this. This is the base light grey. I'm going to try creating the image in light grey, then adding medium , then black.

All my prior work has been strictly black.

Based on constructive advice on one of my pieces, a Redditor mentioned checking out a video about how to construct landscapes. So the plan is to use more contrast in the foreground or at least be congnizant of that.

This is going to be a long project, so I hope the results will reflect that. Either way, I hope to learn a lot.

I will post back as I go along if anyone's interested.
