So many teens here

Maybe it's my own vision of it, but scrolling through i always see posts in very... gen alpha language. And it feels strange to think of teenagers labeling themselves as involuntarily celibate, because while it's average for people that age to have relationships for the first time, it's also normal for teens to not be out and about in the world if they have protective or strict parents. Plus, while beauty standards are quite strongly inspired by children, teens aren't hot. No teenager is (or should be, at least) attractive to anyone other than a teenager. And it's a small age pool cause you don't date people much older or younger as a teen.

Anyways, this is all to say, reading what i assume to be many teens on this sub complaining about not getting dates or attention from men makes it feel a bit sadder for me as someone grown. I feel like i should've by now, even being ugly and fat, gotten SOMETHING, like this should've been a little teen phase of discomfort that should've ended.

Every day i go into work and college thinking, fearing, how will my patients treat me? Will people be uneasy to have me as their doctor? Would they be able to trust me despite how i look? Being ugly as an adult is just as bad if not worse than being ugly as a teen, because adults bully too and no one cares anymore. Not even gonna think about dating anymore because i've given up on that at this point.
