Hello. I‘m planning on start mending and especially start with patching and making my pants a work in progress.. but therefore I need ideas.

The pants might look old and they are.. but I believe it would be sad throwing them away, so I need some ideas on what I can do. It would be my first time doing it, but I‘m more than happy to learn something new.

A problem I definitely need to fix is seen in the last photo. Any ideas? I don’t want to make it look weird.
