I've always wondered if the vocals featured on most of the genre are something specific and unique to it, or if they are the exact same vocals you would find on Death and Black metal but simply with more effects or slight tweaks to them. I do beg your pardon for a question as ignorant as this one, I barely know stuff, if anything at all, about vocals in general so this is just to have a materialized and labeled goal for me to reach at some point.

For what is worth as well and if this helps to narrow down the scope of reference, some of my favorite vocals are the ones you will hear in Revenge, Primitive Warfare, Abysmal Lord, Archgoat, Deiphage, Profane Order, and that's just to name a few!
