Wo Serien schauen ohne VPN.

Danke euch!

I have a huge family but it feels like I don’t have one.

My family never tells me anything, never informs me of anything, never invites me to anything, and never cares to involve me in anything. Yet then they turn around and complain about me all the time.

What triggered this post? My cousin is getting married today, and no one told me. It was a small wedding, only immediate family invited, so it was only the husband, the wife and their parents and siblings. That means it doesn’t include me anyways. But then last night, at 10pm, the night before the wedding, my cousin (the one getting married) texts me that my mom is invited and tells me I can “come too if I want to”. I asked her why she didn’t tell me earlier if they were broadening her guests list, and she told me (mind you it’s HER I grew up with and am related to) that the husbands mother and sisters specifically asked her to invite me and she had “forgotten” and only remembered at 10pm the night before because HIS mother texted her asking if I had already confirmed coming. I had no dress, no nothing. It felt like she didn’t want me there. On top of that, my mom also didn’t tell me she was going. Plus my mom had made me order some kitchen appliance for her that were meant to arrive today, meaning she needed to be at home at the time of the wedding. So instead? I was made to stay home to wait for the delivery, while she went to the wedding that I reminded her of the night before because she had forgotten. In fact, they’re there right now, and I’m at home, having just come home from my mother’s place to open the door for the delivery. Sadly this isn’t the first nor the last time this has happened or will happen.

Constantly this happens, it’s never my fault, and then I’m made out to be the “outsider”. They make plans and I only find out hehe they send pictures of whatever plans they’re currently in the middle of. When I ask about it, or someone asks why I’m not there, the response is always “I don’t know, she could’ve joined if she wanted.” Problem is, they never told me. “Well we talked about it openly it wasn’t a secret.” They talked about it when I wasn’t there. “Well why weren’t you there?” Because no one told me yall were there, I was at home not knowing what’s going on. Same shit every time. All my cousins my age are always invited, just not me. And I’m not not-invited. If I find out somehow and come with, no one says anything. But no one makes a point to invite me.

Plus it’s a big family of handymen. So whenever I need something done in my apartment, they say they’ll do it, but they never do. If I mention, or they find out, that I’m hiring someone to do it, they ridicule and belittle me. They tell me why I would do it, if I have the family, why I would be so wasteful to pay someone when they’re there. But when I asked for one of them to install my oven, they still haven’t done it until today. It’s been since April of 2025. I have a new oven in the kitchen. I’ve been cooking for a year without an oven. Cause no one installed it. As someone else in my family is currently moving out, they asked the same person to install their oven as well. It happened the next day. That persons apartment is a 3 minute walk from mine. “Maybe you live further away” or “maybe they’re busy” doesn’t cut it anymore.

Also my mother told everyone else in the family that my sister is pregnant, just not me. (This was years ago though). I found out sitting on the toilet, hearing her through the door telling the neighbour. No one had told me. No one. I was the last to find out my own sister was pregnant.

And the excuse is always that IM not trying hard enough to find things out, that it’s not like they’re hiding it from me. But they’re also not informing me either. They make it as an excuse that their plans weren’t secret, they were talked about openly. Yes. They were. Talked about openly. At a get together. That everyone but me was informed of. Hence why I wasn’t there. Cause no one told me it was happening, until after it happened and I saw pictures of it. I’m so done, with everyone, including my family themselves telling me I’m lucky to have such a big family, when it doesn’t feel like I have one at all. If anything, it feels worse. I’d rather not have a family at all, than to have a big one in theory, but in reality they’re just dangling pictures in front of my face of “what I could’ve had” if I was just important enough to be invited.

It’s better to not have a family, than to have one, yet not be part of it.
