My small wuji collection

My small wuji collection

It's not everyone's preference, but I personally really like the look of wuji (black chicken) jade. The bracelet is from Molly Gemstone, bangle from Syang, and the ring second hand from a friend. I've been looking for a thinner bangle with lavender as well as some earrings or maybe a pendant. I recently learned about muna (snowy looking inclusion) and have been thinking about maybe getting a pendant. My wishlist is ever growing 😂

Exploring another Tiktok seller

I've been watching a Chinese speaking Tiktok seller and I've been really digging their stuff. My friend ordered a couple rings from them and wasn't keeping this 925 silver Guatamalan (presumably foil backed) ring. So I bought it from her. Iirc she got it originally for 300 something rmb.

This is my first product from them. I'm trying to figure out the payment system and the logistics so I can buy from their stream. Thanks again to Amanda H Mei and all the super helpful jade ladies. I have learned so much about jade in the past couple months. Looking forward to reviewing this shop when I'm able to make a direct purchase with them.

Second hand jade/My experience with Dang Dang Studio

I know some people have mixed feelings about second hand jade (superstitions and all that), but I personally don't. I was recommended a jade shop that has consignment jade as well as new jade. I was recommended the shop, Dang Dang Studio Jade by Amanda H Mei (this is her Tik Tok and Discord name). She is so knowledgeable and helpful!

Dang Dang Studio has an online shop as well as a physical location where you can schedule to view jade in Foster City (near the San Francisco Bay area) in California. They are very responsive on their website chat if you reach out to them with any questions.

I saw this lovely 53mm oval on their website and I reached out to them because I was nervous about sizing. I can usually wear a 51mm but I've never been able to properly put on an oval. They were super nice and let me know if it didn't fit, I could return it and do an exchange.

After I purchased the bangle, they sent it out very quickly and sent me the tracking information. The first day I received it my hand was kind of sore from removing my D shaped 52mm, so I waited until the next day to put it on. On the advice of my friend, I massaged my hand a lot during the day before I put it on. I also watched a Baikalla Youtube video on how to properly put on an oval (you have to get it over the index and pinky joint, then turn).

I was super surprised by how easily (and painlessly) putting on an oval was in comparison to a circular bangle! I am really glad it fit because truth be told, I was planning on keeping the bangle even if it didn't fit because the quality was so nice for the price! All in all, I had a great experience purchasing from Dang Dang and would 100% purchase again. A big thanks again to Amanda and my group chat ladies for all their advice/tips. Being able to successfully put on a 51mm oval has opened up more purchase possibilities...for science of course ;)

My review/how to for Legendearjadeite

Now that all of my items arrived, I thought I would go ahead and do my little Tik Tok review/how to I mentioned about a week ago for the TT seller "legendearjadeite" with the seller's name being Lydia. I know many people buy from her, but after seeing a friend's purchases, I finally decided to try it out for ~~myself~~ science. I am very social media adverse but created an account on a blank device to check out different sellers. I started with legendearjadeite because the seller, Lydia speaks English. I also watch, but haven't purchased from a Chinese seller (my Chinese isn't good, I wasn't very successful in Chinese school as a kid) and I've been looking for Vietnamese speaking sellers as well. Feel free to drop your other recommendations in the comments or my DMs if you have any good ones!

So after you log into TT, just wait for legendearjadeite to go live (usually its around 6-12 edt). Her account photo will have a red bubble around it with the words "live" underneath. This seller sells pendants, rings, bangles, bead bracelets, jewelry boxes, etc. If you name it, she will let you know if she has it.

Photo of the Tktok account name

Depending when you log in, there may or may not be a line of customers ahead of you. If there is a line, just write a comment to her saying "I would like to be in line. I am looking for _____" and she will put you in line. There have been times where I was in line, and there are times when I logged in and was able to see products right then and there. Once it is your turn, type in the comments: what product you are looking for, what size (if applicable), what color, and what your budget is.

Make sure you provide size (if applicable) color preference, and budget.

After you give Lydia this information, she will let you know if she has the items you're looking for, and will show you a range of different products that suit your specification. You can ask her to use a UV light on the products, a flashlight, take it into natural daylight, etc. I find that her products look very true to what is shown on the live. No beauty filters. Lydia also will disclose the flaws. I liked a bangle, but with the flash she saw a crack and told me to pass on that bangle (and I did).

Lydia showing me bangle flaws with a flashlight

She will show you the items and you can tell her if you like them, or if you want to pass on them. You can also ask her to hold items for you if you are interested or unsure/don't have payment ready. Please note holding an item is different than claiming an item. If you claim an item, you are indicating you are going to purchase and will be under obligation to pay. Only claim an item if you are going to 100% purchase.

If you have for example, purchasing a ring but want a pendant, Lydia will ask you if you want anything else and you can say "I would like also like _____" and you can look at other items during your turn. Shipping is free over $50. Anything under that you will have to pay for shipping. All bangles come with certification. If you are looking at products and don't see anything you like, it is okay to say you're not interested and pass. But please don't ask to see a million different products for a long time and not purchase/hold items. Be mindful there are other buyers and often a line.

Me passing on items because I was waiting for the new shipment. Also, Lydia showing me bangles in daylight

If you do see an item you like, say "I want to claim that." After you claim you items and are done shopping, the assistant will send you a DM with payment instructions. I like to pay immediately after I claim, but I know some people wait. Just make sure you don't forget to pay! If you have a Shop account already, it makes the purchasing process easier. Follow the purchase instructions and the assistant will DM you a photo of your items. The shop usually ships items either same day or next day. Afterwards, all you have to do is wait for you items.

Example of claiming an item

Overall, I had a good experience. I found the quality good for the price and I liked that the items looked true to what was shown on the live. I did 3 separate purchases, one bangle, 2 rings, and 3 pendants. Each order shipped same or next day with tracking immediately sent to me. I liked that I wasn't pressured to buy, because I know some Tik Tok sellers operate on a bidding selling format, rather than a turn based one. With all that being said, I would say yes, I do recommend this particular seller.

Happy shopping/thanks for reading! If you want, you can tell Lydia that "Die Frau" sent you/recommended her.

Success with a (new to me) seller

Based on a friend's recommendation I tried out a (new to me seller) and I can say it was a success! I have a few more pieces coming from their shop. I'm excited to do a review once everything arrives. The pendant is very pretty with an 18k gold bail.

Anybody else love beads?

I work with my hands a lot so I find it easier to wear beads because they're easily removable. They're also good gifts for children because of that. I just picked up two more bead bracelets from Molly Gemstone. I'm looking to get some icy Guatamalan beads or bigger chunky beads next. I've been getting a bunch of these smaller colorful ones for my daughters.

Looking for some guidance/information about red jade

I am looking for some more information about red jade. I've read the post about it on Mason Kay Jade and I've seen comments from people on Reddit. I know that it's common for red jade to be heat treated. My sister has been asking me about getting a red bracelet or maybe a pendant but I really don't know much about it and I am trying to not get scammed or misled (again).

I have seen a couple people mention this seller on Reddit, Mollygemstone on Etsy. A few people mentioned her as reputable. I noticed she had some pieces labeled "red jade untreated." Is it that these are lower quality perhaps? Heat treated? I've seen a few other sellers on Etsy with similar listings and I'm just not sure. Would it be safer for me to tell her to get agate instead? Would love some more information as I'm newer to jade and still learning.

Small haul from Cuijuan Jadeite

I posted a review in the review megathread, but I thought I'd do a showcase post here too. I bought 3 nephrite bead bracelets and one wuji bangle (54mm) from Cuijuan Jadeite. I had been looking for a wuji bangle for a while now and went ahead and got this one from Cuijuan Jadeite's website. I had initially asked u/syang70 to find a 52mm wuji bangle for me, but I really liked the pattern and color of this one they already had in their shop. 51-52mm usually fits me comfortably, but the 54mm doesn't feel too big. The bead bracelets are super cute and my daughters were so excited I got them "big girl jade."

My order from Cuijuan Jadeite

Here is a small haul of 3 bead bracelets and one bangle I bought from u/syang70. 3 nephrite bead bracelets and one wuji bangle. These were two separate orders. 2 bead bracelets for my daughters and one bead bracelet to maybe give away at my family’s annual white elephant Christmas party. The shipping was super quick both times (the order shipped the day I purchased). The orders were packaged very securely and the photos on the listing accurately represented how the items looked in real life. I’ve been bait and switched a couple times so that part really mattered to me. All in all, these were very smooth and easy purchases.

A Follow Up to My Review of Yuan Jadeite

This is a follow up to post my review about Yuan Jadeite. A user named u/d0glover1 has claimed to have spoken to the seller u/militarygf1101. D0glover1 is claiming I received a refund for the 52mm green bangle picture in my review, and that I kept it. This is categorically FALSE. As you will see in my Paypal transactions, I was refunded $160 for the bead bracelet with the drill marks AFTER I put up my review yesterday. The seller initially asked me if I wanted a refund, and I declined. After she gave me the refund, I offered to ship the bracelet back. She declined.

I texted the seller’s personal number and she claimed she did not send this person to attack me and falsely claim I kept the bangle. I don’t know if this is true and I don’t care. This entire situation is childish and in EXTREMELY poor taste.

It’s human nature to be upset when somebody says things about you or your business that are not favorable. It's, however, not okay to lie and spread lies about the facts. I am not upset that the seller is calling me a liar, Karen, etc. That’s her opinion and that says more about her than it does about me. I called the seller a lovely person in my review. Now, I am not too sure.

It's It's very concerning that a seller would discuss a customer with another customer. I have no idea how much of my personal information was disclosed. This is highly unprofessional and unethical.

I waited a while to do this review. Initially I put up a review on the Jadeite subreddit but pulled it when someone questioned whether the bangle was burmese or Guatemalan but I chose not to put the review back up for several reasons. Firstly, there was entirely too much drama with multiple people (seller included) trying to bend my ear to gossip about this person or that person to prove this or that. There are people I have never spoken to sharing my story without asking me or confirming any facts with me. For that reason I have decided to post my own review so people can hear it straight from the source.

I like to keep my reviews and my transactions strictly business. I want to talk about the facts, and only the facts. First and foremost, my bangle is oily Burmese jade, not Guatemalan jade. As seen in these photos, the quality of the bangle is quite nice. Much better quality than a Kathy Jade bangle I purchased for around the same price.

While I personally find u/Militarygf1101 to be a sweet person, I did have several issues with my purchases. Initially, I bought a very nice looking 53mm oval bangle (priced $470). It didn’t fit, so Yuan Jadeite allowed me to make a free return, however I did need to pay the return shipping out of pocket. The bangle looked identical to the photos and videos I was initially sent. After this didn’t work out, Yuan Jadeite offered me a different bangle, a 52mm (priced $870) but I had to pay an additional $45 for shipping and the tariff. I also purchased a 7mm bead bracelet (priced $160).

As seen in these photos, the photos of the bangles I was sent appear to have an “E” marking in dark green, which the bangle doesn’t have in person. When I initially received the bangle I could not find the “E” marking anywhere and thought I was sent the wrong bangle. The color appeared different in the photo and the video I was sent. Upon closer inspection I realized it was the same bangle, but I do believe the photo/videos I was sent were edited. Let me be clear, I do not think this was done by Yuan Jadeite, as the oval bangle I was sent and returned looks just like the photos and videos. I DO believe perhaps the factory is editing the photos/videos and perhaps not disclosing.

Another issue I have is with the bead bracelet. Some of the beads are not circular, and have flat edges on them which I believe are drill marks. For $160 I wasn’t expecting the best quality, but I WAS expecting them to be circular. These flaws were not disclosed to me.  Aside from that I was repeatedly promised free products which I did not ask for, nor did I receive. There was also a discrepancy with pricing for another bangle that almost made me walk away from the sale completely. For this last bangle I purchased I did have to pay for shipping as well as the tariff while with the other products I did not. All in all the buying process seemed a bit unorganized and the products iffy. And for that reason, despite me thinking this seller is a lovely person, I will not be purchasing again.

After I put up my first review on r/JadeiteNephrite Yuan Jadeite did offer me a replacement/refund, to which I have declined. I have seen there being many accusations of “shills” and “fake accounts” on this subreddit. Let me be clear, I received no financial gain from my purchases or reviews, and I am a verified customer of Yuan Jadeite (please see photo 3 for a copy of my Paypal receipt). Everyone’s buying experiences are different. As I stated multiple times, I find this seller to be a pleasant person, but business is business.

You can see my original review here:

Edit: Yuan Jadeite offered me a refund for the bracelet yesterday but I declined. After my post today she refunded me the money for the bracelet. When I offered to ship it back she told me to keep it. She asked if I would edit my post to reflect the status of the refund and I have now done so.
