Swarmers outside in Massachussetts
Hi! Found a pile of swarmers yesterday, about 3-4 feet from the front of our house on an old log (outside). We also have carpenter ants, in the same area outside and throughout the inside of our house. Had Orkin take a look and there are no signs of termite damage inside.
They recommended treating preventively for both termites and carpenter ants.
My husband is hesitant to spend the money ($2100 approx) but it feels important to me as preventive, given the proximity of the swarmers to our house. What do you think? Would you do this to prevent an active infestation or am I being overly cautious?
Also, can you explain why we need to treat both swarmers/termites AND carpenter ants? The Orkin guy made it sound like we can't do one without the other
