Does this look like a termite?

I'm in Charleston, SC and I have seen a bunch of these inside the house on the floor of the bathroom and kitchen. Even a couple in a bedroom. I think they might be coming in from the AC vent because I have seen a couple on the ceiling. They always come out at night and I just vacuum them up.

Saw a few of these in an interior bathroom, do they look like termites? (AL)

Title. I was showering and killed a couple bugs, but could not tell where they were coming from. Does this look more like termites or something else? I’ve not had experience with them before. Apologies for grainy image quality!!

Are these termites?

Hi in Southern CA and see these around the patio door at night. Are these termites? Thanks!

Termites or ants? So cal.

Hi,
Sorry for the terrible pics. Found these guys coming through the cracks in the front door. It’s dark, so haven’t checked outside for damages or droppings. Don’t see any in the house. We’re in Southern California.

Are these termites? Save my new shed in Victoria BC!

These little jerks came in on the skids Home Depot used to stack my order. When the wood was stacked outside, we kept finding loads of them when we'd turn boards over - all of a sudden there'd be 50 of them running in all directions. Their frass is dark (dark brown or black) and granular - see the first photo. Not sticky as far as I can tell. Finding them today after only last week spraying everything down with the only insecticide we have (BugBGone) has me worried.

The blended thorax/abdomen is what really makes me wonder. Now, I've seen the big 3/4” long termites that live on Vancouver Island and turn logs to paper and these definitely aren't them - no orange, much smaller (maybe 5-8mm - the 2nd and 3rd pictures are next to shingles, so hopefully the grit gives you an idea of size). But these do remind me of the little termites I've seen in Ontario and Nova Scotia. But not being from the Island I don't know.

Another possibility is that they're earwig nymphs. Is that the case? I just built this shed and did a really good job on it - help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!

Are these termite alates?

Found these this evening by my bedroom window. I’m in South Florida. I’m thinking subterranean alates but not 100% sure. We had the other side of the house treated for dry wood last year.

It’s never ending is it?

Are these termites (or related)?

i’m in southwest florida and these guys have been appearing all of a sudden. i noticed that either the bug in the first picture or in the second had shed wings, but i’m unsure if this is some different kind of bug or termites.

one thing i did note is that i had cleaned my entire room, and yet they still keep appearing ... twice. they don't seem to appear on the same day after i clean, but appear the next day. i've been feeling rather itchy (which is unusual).

vinegar does not work for these guys, neither pesticides.

Hardwood Floor termites

House is in Florida. Backstory we are in a 35-year-old house with hardwood floors and part of the home about as old as a home. Saw some swarmer about a month ago and started looking into our issues. Had several companies come out to give advice and estimates. Several wanted to do the bait stations around the house, but we ended up wanting to do the trench system along with treating the inside of the house as well and drilling down outside under the slab in several areas. My question is I have seen several opinions on whether we should take up the wood floors first and then address the situation or try to address the situation first with the termites and then take up the wood floors. The company that we are going with is recommending we tear out the wood floors in the area of the problem which would be three large rooms and then they were coming afterwards and treat the slab with termidor and then we can close any cracks, etc. that we find and then they will do the foam inside the house as well as the trench system outside. I have seen several things online about never tear up wood floors before the termite situation is addressed as they will scatter to other areas of the house. These are subterranean termites and the company said there is a chance they could do that but also a chance they will go back into the soil out of the house into the colony while the floors are being taken up. Any thoughts? BTW, we are also planning to do a Dust procedure inside the attic and the walls with timbor along with everything else when house is treated.

DFW termite infestation - need help

Have a termite infestation. We have just noticed them coming through the wall over the past couple of days. Terminex is saying they are Formosan due to the shape of their head and they swarm in late May. But I’m not seeing any swarmers anywhere just workers behind these little areas. There’s 3-4 little holes where these dirt mounds poke out. Does anyone know a reputable company around me? What would the treatment look like? I’m not using terminex because they tried to say I need $15k worth of work due to them being Formosans and that I needed my insulation replaced out of precaution - even though they found none in my attic area. They also were only going to bait as far as I can tell. No trenching mentioned.

Termites in Mulch Pile, Should I Remove from Wood Fence?

My arborist took down our tree and then left all the wood chips. Along with wood chips from our tree, there were wood chips and debris from other trees in their truck so they ended up dropping a HUGE pile of mulch. We spread it in beds about 40 feet from our house, but we also spread it along our side yard against our wood fence. At one point as we got deeper into scooping the mulch pile, I noticed termites.

Now we have some concerns and questions. Do we need to remove all the mulch we set next to the wood fence? I don't want to treat the mulch with a harmful pesticide. Do we let the mulch pile dry out over time before using it or should we scrap the whole pile?

FWIW we are in San Antonio, Texas; we are on a slab foundation; and I've read that the termites may not last long once they are separated from their queen. I've also read that termites don't love mulch - the wood chips aren't substantial enough for them.

Termites?

Found termites in my mulch a few weeks ago. I asked my termite bond company to come check it out and they stated they only treat the house. When I requested them to spray around the house which is what the tech told me they would do as part of my contract they told me no.

This morning I saw my cat trying to get something in our carpet and found 2 of these. The same cat has been scratching up the carpet near the wall closest to where the mulch with termites is. I thought she was being a cat but now I’m worried there may be termites in the wall.

Drywood Termites - San Antonio TX

My house has drywood termites, we have identified at least 3 areas of the house that have them and had those spot treated successfully. It’s old so I really can’t tell what is an active area vs not active because there are spots with wood rot/potentially old infestations, etc. the most recently discovered spot had swarmers.

My issue is that they are rare enough in my area that NO local pest control companies fumigate. That’s correct. Zero. (Would love to be corrected by a fellow local and get a quote from a local company!!!) that means that tenting my house would be quite a bit more expensive than normal.

Have any central TX residents had success eradicating termites from their home via spot treatments? Or has anyone found a company that fumigates based in the SA area?
