Finalized this small piece yesterday. It’s mostly polychromas (and maybe two black edition pencils for a bit of color variety).
Really liked how the background came out. The reference photo was showing it as blurred due to the horses moving. Was fun to go for that effect.
Also the horses I really enjoyed layering the different colors to get the look I wanted.
Next time I need to do bigger than maybe 4*6 so I can get more detail done especially with the eyes.
It’s a small piece maybe 3*6 but was a lot of fun doing the coat pattern! Used the basic set of prismacolor. Definitely want to expand the colors I have!
It’s to be the front of a card for a horse organization to send out to clients. They wanted black and white. But it was a fun challenge to use different shades of grey to create the layers.
I have mainly done pencil and ink drawings in the past so was happy with how this came out!
