Some birds from an Avian August challenge that I decided to start tackling on another app.
Take this everlasting rose, to remind you of them. It will be painful to walk with your grief, but it is better than to forget.

Spent a good few hours on it, first time using my Polychromos pencils, I just replaced my Black Widow pencils with them as I wasn't enjoying them. Really happy with it, and didn't make it spooky for once :)
Whilst colouring I thought of the little poem thing. I've never experienced grief, myself, but I adore the sentiment of not forgetting, but walking with your grief. New Border Collie portrait finished. Had this one on the board for a couple of days. A really fun one to work on. Nice mix of light and dark with plenty of texture and room for subtle colours to pop the whole thing.
He’s 20 x 30” on Art Spectrum pastel paper and drawn with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and Windsor & Newton white calligraphy ink.
These are two residents at my local non-profit parrot sanctuary.
I only started using PastelMat paper less than a year ago, but I really enjoy it!
