Not new to the game but new to the concept of building good looking factories. I played through the game before 1.2 and I always made these ugly ass giant bunkers made of just basic walls.
This time, I want to make actually good looking, neat factories even if it takes me much longer. However now I'm in the beginning, I just unlocked concrete and foundations and it's gonna take a while before I have the needed Awesome Shop tickets from the sink to buy all the stuff there and it will also take long before I produce steel, which you also need to make nice factories.
How do you guys build in the beginning then? Just place foundations, build your shit on that without paying too much attention to design and beauty and then just strip everything down and rebuild the early factories once you have steel and the architecture unlocked?
Any other tips you can give me?
Hi all,
Let me prelude this by giving you some background: I'm a 43 years old man. When I was a kid, I was the typical un-athletic, scrawny, brainy kid that was shit at sports. It's only in my early twenties that I got so sick of being a skinny twig, that I started lifting weights and now I'm a fairly athletic man with a normal, healthy weight. I say this because it's rather important: it's still hard for me to accept that I'm no longer a skinny, weak man like I used to be. That image of me is kind of baked in.
Anyway on to the question at hand: I practice Kyokushin. We spar a lot. I don't participate in competition, but we do spar a lot during trainings and I love it. I love this style. However, I keep getting contused ribs. Again and again. It doesn't take a hard blow for my ribs to get injured. No cracked ribs so far, but contusions on the other hand, in the 3 years I've been training Kyokushin, I've had 5 contusions.
Why does it hurt my motivation? It's not the injury itself. I mean, Kyokushin is full contact so injuries are to be expected. Even rib injuries can happen to the best.
What bothers me is that I seem to be the only one in our club to get them so often and so easily. It really doesn't take much for me to get injured in that area and it feels like my body just tells me I'm not cut out for this sport. That my body is too weak to practice this. And it saps my motivation.
One theory is that I get hit there easier because I'm tall. Like really tall: 6'4", 190lbs. And I have a long rib cage. I tower over pretty much everyone there and my rib cage is just the ideal striking height for like 90% of the people. But there's other people there that are also relatively tall and don't seem to get so many injuries there. I just can't shake the feeling that my body is just too frail for this sport and it makes me feel like a loser. To a point where I even got nightmares about this after my latest fresh rib contusion.
And I don't know what to think of this. I don't want to practice an other style. I love sparring and the mentality, it's just that it feels like my body doesn't follow. Mind you, I'm not asking for medical advice and I know I just have to let the contusion heal before sparring again so no need to elaborate on that. It's just purely the mental side of things I would like to hear opinions on.
