Canal City Build
Hello! I was recently admiring someone else's city, and was invited to share mine. I've been meaning to post a few pictures for a while so this is a great chance!
I tried to think about what I would want in a city like this-- wide streets, lots of infrastructure, abundant plant life and open spaces, easy transportation. Trees and green spaces are especially something I can't stand getting rid of, I almost always pick some areas to be "nature reserves" and wall them off before anything else. And I tend to break up chunks of activity with bands of forest and orchard. Can you tell I come from a rural area??? Lol
(Funny story: my spouse lives in a capital city, which can be stressful for me, but his house is next to a huge urban farm field. So sometimes I go stand at the window and look at it until I calm down like an upset horse, lmao.)
So I have buses built everywhere, double-wide streets and canals for moving goods and people, and and underground pathway entrances! The botanical garden and zoo are positioned so that even my more suburban farmers can easily visit, while the museum is closer to the artisans and engineers/inventors. I forgot to take pictures, but I also always build rest areas and "cafeterias" in industrial zones for my workers, so it's not relentless smoke and metal.
What do you think? Are there things I could improve? I think my city is just a little too uniform to be really visually interesting, but I'm not sure what I could change without sacrificing too much efficiency.
