I've spent a fair bit of time with The Far Seas now, so have finally decided it needs a review.

For the tl;dr version though - this is a great 2-player game. The solo mode I found unsatisfying - if solo is your focus, I'd only recommend this if you really like the historical setting.

I am very blessed that VUCA Simlutions let me take a look at The Far Seas before release. I've previously played the 80s original of this game that came in Strategy & Tactics - it was a great 2 player cat & mouse game of a huge allied fleet hunting down a dozen German vessels, but I could never get it t play solo well. VUCA have added revamped solo system so I cannot wait to get this to the table and see what they have done.

I know it's not got hexes, but this is definitely a wargame!
