Another everyday day feeding the 130+ stray cats of the port…

I will speak to you today a little more personally and from the heart.

I am starting to get exhausted… I am also starting to get tired psychologically.

It has now been 13-14 years of daily effort, alone, without any substantial help, with my only support being my love for these creatures in need.

Every time I go to feed the kittens, it takes me about 3.5 to 4 hours. And if I have to look for a kitten that is lost or needs help, it can take 5 hours or more.

And yet… all these years, in heat, in cold, in rain, and even in snow, these kittens have never been left without food.

No matter what happened, no matter how difficult the day was, I knew that someone was waiting for me… that there were lives that depended on me.

And the truth is, if I didn’t have your support, I might not have been able to continue.

I’m uploading photos of the food I need to transport each time to be able to feed all these creatures:

🐾 8 kilos of dry food

🐾 24 cans of wet food

🐾 Food for the pigeons too

🐾 And I fill the three concrete containers with water 6-7 times, so that they have clean water to drink.

And all this… every day.

The need for food never stops.

The tummies get hungry again and again.

And the effort must continue

As I was returning from the scheduled feeding of the cats at the port on the corner of Xenophontos and Agisilaus, in Kallithea, I met a sweet mother cat with her three little ones.

The mother is blind in one eye, but she struggles every day to take care of her babies. It is truly touching to see how much strength and love can be hidden in such a small soul.

I left them canned food and fresh water, but unfortunately I cannot take on their daily feeding.

Tomorrow 16/07/26 in the morning there will be an operation to catch them all together and take their mother for sterilization at Mr. Perdikouri's veterinary clinic in Kallithea

Today, 06/29/2026, I went to the 130+ stray kittens at the port and gave them as little food as I could, so that I would have a little more left to go to them again on Wednesday.

Every end of the month things get even more difficult. There are a lot of kittens and, unfortunately, due to my unemployment, I can no longer respond as I would like.

There are no words to describe how much my heart hurts when I see them waiting for me hungry and I know that I don't have enough food for them all. I feel like I'm disappointing them, but even this small amount is better than not finding anything.

I hope with all my heart that some help will be found, so that I can give them at least some food in the coming days. I'm not asking for much, just that they don't go hungry.

Honestly, every time I have to ask for help, I feel very embarrassed. But, without your support, I will have nothing to offer them.

Unfortunately, he didn't make it. He suffered from pulmonary edema and died. I have updated my profile because today I can't go to the team and inform them that he has passed away.😭😭 Thank you very much for your valuable help. With your support, the doctor will be paid for the tests he performed on the kitten.

💔Unfortunately, our beloved "Kefalas" 🧿, the soul of the harbor, is currently fighting the hardest battle of his life... 😭

I found him in a tragic state and immediately took him to the vet. He can't breathe properly and is very seriously dehydrated. His condition is critical and all we can do is hope for a miracle. 🙏

He has already been put on IV and, as soon as he stabilizes a little, the doctors will start all the necessary tests. Every minute is precious.

Today I broke down with them…

Today I went to the 130+ stray kittens at the port and was only able to give them a little water. I had no food at all… not even a handful.

Most of them have had to eat since last Friday.

There are no words to describe how much my soul hurts when I see them looking at me hungry and not being able to help them. Waiting for a little food, a little care, and me leaving empty-handed and with a heart full of guilt.

Lately I feel like I'm collapsing psychologically. A few days ago I lost my beloved kitten, my Fanis, and since then everything seems more difficult. I'm trying to stand up for all these creatures, but I really don't know how much longer I can take it...

I'm even thinking about stopping going to the port, because I can't stand to see this hunger and abandonment anymore without being able to offer the basics.

I beg you from the bottom of my heart... if you can, help me even with the minimum, so that I can buy some food and go feed them tomorrow.

Good morning my dear friends,

Vasilakis, the stray cat from the port in Kallithea, Greece, went through a difficult and unprecedented ordeal.

He underwent a rhinoscopy — a procedure unknown to us until now, but which seemed endless. Time in the operating room passed excruciatingly slowly… almost an hour that seemed like an eternity, full of anguish and silent prayer.

The doctors detected something in his left nostril and proceeded to take a sample for biopsy. From that moment on, everything froze inside me. Thoughts are heavy, the anguish grows… and yet, somewhere deep down, there is still that small flame of hope that does not go out.

Hope that everything will be fine. That the results will be clear and that this difficult ordeal will be left behind, like a bad memory that we will one day be able to talk about with relief. I hold on to faith, to the strength that is born when you truly love, and I hope that soon we will see the light of tranquility again and smile with relief.

Due to unemployment, I have not yet managed to pay the cost of the surgery to the doctor.
