💔 Waiting 4 Years for a Forever Home ..I’m Scared They Could Be Separated. Bonded Mama & Baby Must Stay Together. 🥹It’s a long post, but I promise it’s worth the read. Location 📍:Charlotte,NC ,USA

⚠️ It’s a long post, but I promise it’s worth the read. ❤️🐾

Pet finder link: https://www.petfinder.com/cat/purrl-and-pawlette-momma-and-baby-df4197a6-a239-42ad-9c0e-fedf4a9d8a04/nc/charlotte/sunkissed-acres-rescue-nc1270/details/

Purrl & Pawlet — Mama & Baby, Together Always ❤️

I am scared. 💔

I am scared that if I have to move someday, Mama and Baby might be separated.

And after everything these two have been through, I cannot let that happen.

As I write this adoption post, my tears are rolling down my face. 🥲

It honestly feels like I am putting a piece of my soul up for adoption.

I have loved these two girls, cared for them, watched them grow, and promised them I would keep them safe.

Letting them go is breaking my heart.

But sometimes loving them means making the hardest decision for them.

I am breaking my heart now so their hearts never have to be broken later. ❤️

Their names are Purrl and Pawlet, but they have always known themselves as Mama and Baby. ❤️

And honestly, I think those names are part of their story. They aren’t just names to them…they are who they are to each other.

Mama and Baby have waited so long for someone to see them, love them, and finally bring them home….together.

Some bonds are simply too strong to be broken.

When I first rescued them, Baby was only 2 months old, and Mama was about a year old.

Today, Mama is 5 and Baby is 4. 🥹❤️

They are two of the funniest, sweetest, and cutest little girls you could ever meet.

They may take a little time to warm up to new humans, but once they trust you, you will discover just how special they are.

And honestly… they love EVERYTHING. 😂❤️

🐶 Dogs? ❤️
🐱 Cats? ❤️
🪑 Chairs? ❤️
🪴 Tables? ❤️
🌱 Plants? ❤️

Everything is their friend!

They also LOVE watching TV. 📺😂

Sometimes they sit together watching the screen like they are completely invested in the show. It is one of the cutest things to see.

They are incredibly bonded, but Mama has also made a very special friend of her own ..Ethan, another 2.5-year-old kitty. ❤️

Mama is basically still a kitten herself. She is energetic, playful, and always ready to play with kittens.

Baby, on the other hand, is a little more laid-back and sometimes gets completely overwhelmed by Mama’s endless energy.

Sometimes Baby is basically saying:

“Mama, no… STOP!”

And Mama is like:

“Just one more game!”

before running off to play with Ethan again. ❤️😂

They are also VERY food motivated. 🙈

I spoil them with wet food four times a day, and I know… I’ve created two little spoiled queens. 😂❤️

Mama has also trained Baby very well.

Baby comes first to demand treats… and then Mama comes right behind her.

And if I take my own supplements, they both immediately assume I am eating treats without sharing.

They will literally yell at me:

“Excuse me?! Where are ours?” 😂

Their three little demands in life:

🐾 A screened porch
🌱 Kitty grass every day
🐱 More cats in the family!

They absolutely LOVE their screened porch. They spend so much time there watching birds and butterflies, enjoying the sunshine and everything happening outside.

They also LOVE kitty grass and will remind me every single day that their grass is due. 😂🌱

And if they could make one final request, I’m pretty sure they would ask to bring Ethan with them too.

I know adopting three cats is not possible for most families, but these two absolutely adore their best friend. ❤️

Their story ❤️

Mama and Baby are shadows of each other.

Where Mama goes, Baby follows.

Baby depends on Mama so much, and their bond began with a story that still breaks my heart.

Mama was abandoned when her family moved away from their apartment.

She had only one baby — Baby — and she was raising her through a freezing winter.

Mama would sleep inside a cement planter and curl her entire body around her tiny baby, using her own body to keep Baby warm. ❤️

A kind woman saw them and wanted to help.

She managed to trap Baby first.

And then Mama realized her baby was gone.

What happened next is something I will never forget.

It was heavily snowing, and Mama stayed on that woman’s balcony on strike, demanding her baby back.

She cried through the night.

She didn’t care about the snowstorm.
She didn’t care about the freezing cold.
She didn’t care about anything except finding her baby.

Sometimes she would rest in the planter, gathering a little strength… and then she would get back up and continue crying, demanding her baby back.

She was not stuck.

She was on strike.

A mother refusing to give up on her baby. 😭❤️

After two long days, Mama was finally trapped.

And from that moment, we knew one thing:

These two would stay together. No matter what.

Years passed.

And still, no one came forward to adopt them together.

I have been fostering them for yesrs, and unfortunately, I am completely out of space.

I never came to this country expecting to rescue cats.

I came here without any cats at all… and somehow, along the way, I found myself fostering and rescuing so many lives. ❤️

My husband’s job may require us to move someday, and I have already postponed moving twice because of the choices I made and the cats I committed to.

Sometimes I lie awake and wonder:

“If I had to move tomorrow, what would happen to Mama and Baby?”

The rescue would take them back, but they are already struggling financially and are at capacity.

And my biggest fear is whether they would still be able to keep these two together.

After everything they have been through…

After everything Mama did to get her baby back…

I cannot bear the thought of them ever being separated. 💔

They have already waited years.

They don’t need another temporary place.

They don’t need another person to give up on them.

They need someone who will look at these two little girls and say:

“You are home. Both of you. Forever.” ❤️

They are ready for their forever family! 🏡🐾

Both are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and vaccinated.

🦷 Baby had some teeth removed last year.
🦷 Mama had a dental cleaning/polishing and a few teeth removed this year.

Adoption requirements:

🏠 Indoor home only

💵 $200 adoption fee for both ..
📋 Adoption agreement required
🩺 Vet reference required

They don’t need a perfect home.

They just need a home that understands that Purrl and Pawlet ..Mama and Baby ..come as a pair. ❤️

A home with a screened porch would make them very happy.

A little kitty grass would make them even happier.

And maybe, if they’re lucky, some treats four times a day.

Most importantly, they need someone who will never make Mama wonder where her baby went again.

A mother who spent two days crying in the snow for her baby deserves to know that her baby will always be beside her.

They waited for years.

Maybe their family is finally out there. ❤️

Please come forward for Purrl and Pawlet.

Please share their story.

Help these two little girls find the forever home they have been waiting for.

Together. Always. 🙏❤️🐾

A Difficult Time for Our Babies 💔 Floods, Illness & Empty Food Shelves Please Stay With Us & Keep Supporting ❤️

A little update from us❤️🐾
Hello friends. I’m sorry I’ve been quiet and less active these past few days. I haven’t been feeling well because of a bad upper respiratory infection and fever, and at the same time, many of our babies are also struggling with their health.
The situation has become even more difficult because of the continuous rain and flooding in our city. The damp weather and floodwater are causing more respiratory infections and other health problems among the kitties. We also have babies fighting **FIP** who need ongoing treatment and care. 💔
At the same time, a friend has been helping me with some much-needed **shelter maintenance work**, so we have been busy trying to improve and maintain the shelter for our babies. I’m extremely grateful for this help, but managing the maintenance, my own health, the medical needs of so many kitties, and the current flood situation all at once has been very challenging.
And now, we are also struggling with their **food supply**. Our food stock is almost finished, and unfortunately, we haven’t even raised enough yet to buy one full pack of food.
There is a lot happening at once, but I’m still here doing everything I can for them. ❤️
What I need most right now is your **continuous support**. Please don’t leave us alone during this difficult time.
If you can donate, even a small amount will help. If you cannot donate, please share our appeal, follow us, and keep our babies in your prayers. Every share can help us reach someone who may be able to help.
**We have so many little lives depending on us, and we can only keep going with your support. Please stay with us.**

Please help me find this stray cat a home. 757 -VA

Hi-I moved to Portsmouth, Va earlier this year. This kitten has been living in my backyard. I am not allowed pets. My niece would play and feed this cat. She even got it a flea collar. Checked with neighbors, the cat belongs to no one. Posted on Ring. No help. I have posted before, and received comments of how do you know it’s a stray? Call the local rescues. The school year is starting, winter is coming, and this cat is getting older. When we took a pic and put in google images asking - how old is this cat(we have NEVER HAD A PET). The response was 8-10 in July. Who can I contact and have pick up this cat? I will drop it off. I am desperately, seeking guidance. Please if you can take in this friendly cat, or help me find someone who will. Inbox me. Thanks for your time.

🌷Pepsi and Friends down to one last bag of food🐈‍⬛🐈

Hi Friends! How are you? I hope that you're all doing well.

All the rescues, indoor and outdoor are doing great!❤️

Pepsi and Friends, including the 12 permanent, indoor rescues, and the catio cats (the Cokie Cola gang) are about to run out of food, and need a few supplies.

We buy the pelleted litter from Tractor Supply for all the indoor cats, and it saves money.

Unfortunately, the catio cats (feral colony from my mom's old house) did not acclimate to the pelleted litter, so we have an added expense buying them clay litter.

Dreamsicle (Dreamie) and Sparkles were the two from mom's feral colony who we couldn't trap, despite all attempts, so they stayed behind in her old neighborhood.

Every evening my son and I drive over to that area to feed them wet and dry food, and they seem so grateful. Now, they wait by the sidewalk to greet us!♥️♥️♥️

We're so happy knowing that so far, they're okay. I would do anything to catch them, but there is no longer anywhere for me to place any traps, plus I don't wish to separate them, as they now rely on each other, nor do I want to break their trust. It seems as if this will be my new forever routine. We go even if I'm feeling ill.

We could really use your help. If you can please find it in your heart to send our sweet cats food and/or supplies, we'd be so very thankful, and so will the kitties.

Thank you RC, you're the best!♥️🩷💜♥️🩷💜♥️🩷

Please help 🙏❤️🐾 panleukopenia kittens 😓

Hi everyone,
I’m the founder of Luna & Nala Rescue Inc., a registered and active 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue. I care for more than 50 community cats and take in cats and kittens who need help, including those who are sick, injured, or have nowhere else to go.
These three little kittens are currently in my rescue care and are recovering from panleukopenia and coccidia. They are receiving treatment, but they still need medication, proper nutrition, hydration, supportive care, and close monitoring while their little bodies fight to recover. ❤️
Panleukopenia can be extremely serious, especially for kittens. It can cause vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, weakness, loss of appetite, and a dangerously weakened immune system. Coccidia can add even more stress to their already fragile bodies. Their recovery may take time, and I’m doing everything I can to keep them comfortable, hydrated, fed, and receiving the care they need.
The expenses for sick kittens add up quickly — veterinary care, medications, special food, litter, cleaning supplies, and everything else needed to keep them safe while they recover. As a small rescue caring for so many cats, I truly need help to keep up with it all.
I’m asking for donations to help cover the care of these three babies and give them the best chance possible.
For anyone who wants to verify before donating, I am approved for monetary donations in r/rescuecats, and my approval can be verified through my posts there.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing. Sometimes one share is what connects a rescue to the person who can make a difference. ❤️🐾
Thank you for helping me fight for these little lives.

Two cats in need of rehoming

Hey everyone. Reaching out for some mutual aid.

I am a life coach who works with adults with disabilities. Currently I have an unhoused client who resides in Missoula that has an opportunity for housing but they do not allow cats due to allergies.

They are 2 males who are not bounded

Romer - a black short hair

Pappy - An orange cat

Both will need some vet care, Likely all 4 have intestinal worms and several may also have fleas. My client can offer $30 for each to assist with this cost.

We are looking to re-home these cats in the next two weeks. We have already reached out to Animeals, Missoula Animal Control, and the Humane Society. Two of the three are full due to Kitten season, with the third - Missoula Animal Control - is also near capacity. They encouraged us to seek other options.

This is my clients first opportunity for housing after 6 years on the wait-list, and she will lose it if we can't re-home these cats. If any of you are able to assist please feel free to DM me. You're also welcome to share this with your communities.

Attached are photos of the cats provided to me by my client with permission

EDIT:

Edit 1: I have already reached out to Advocats (no response), Missoula Mutual Aid (kept denying my post approval and wouldn't explain why), Animeals (won't work with our timeline), Humane Society (won't work with our timeline), and Missoula Animal Control (full up).

Edit 2: Looks like Humane Society now has an opening -- they said no for weeks and then called us back today -- so we have a tentative plan to surrender the cats on Sunday. Hopefully they won't have to back out, but just in case I'm looking for backup options still.

Semi-feral 5yo mom separated from her 14 WK old kittens. 5 days later she hides all day. Did we make the wrong call?

Hi! I'm fostering a semi-feral mother cat and her three male kittens, and I'd really appreciate input from people experienced with adult feral/semi-feral cats, especially moms.

This is a bit long, but I want to give the full context because I'm struggling to understand whether what we're seeing now is normal decompression or whether separating her from her kittens has negatively affected her.

About mom:

Rhea is approximately 5 years old and has lived outdoors her entire life.

We know she has had at least three litters before this one. We managed to neuter one of the males she was breeding with in the area, although obviously we can't know whether there were other males in the places she travelled to.

She is now spayed as well.

She wasn't living in an established cat colony. She came from a construction site/field-type area.

I'd describe her as semi-feral, although very much on the fearful end of that spectrum.

She will slow blink at us, but if we approach her she hisses/spits very intensely. She has never charged, attacked or swatted at us. Her response to humans is essentially avoidance and fear rather than offensive aggression.

She does not allow touching.

She won't take treats from our hands.

Even on vet-prescribed gabapentin, we cannot approach closely enough to pet her a lot (just a bit). One of the biggest improvements we saw with gabapentin was that she became comfortable enough to eat while we were in the room and to sit much closer to us for example when we were playing with the kittens.

So when I say that she seems "shut down" now, I don't mean that she used to be affectionate or playful with us.

The kittens

She has three boys who are now approximately 14 weeks old.

They're extremely active, eat a lot on their own, play, clean themselves and are making progress with us.

Two approach us quite a lot from the start. They still don't particularly enjoy being touched, but they're curious and very willing to interact.

The third will play with us but absolutely does not tolerate being touched yet. This one was copying mom's behavior the most, hiding with her.

As the kittens became increasingly comfortable approaching us, mom was very anxious about it. It felt like she wanted to monitor/protect them but was also far too frightened of us to actually come close.

She mostly watched them.

She would play with the kittens herself, but never with us in the room (only at night).

Their first 14 days indoors

Mom and the kittens spent their first 14 days indoors together.

They were housed in our kitchen because we have another foster cat in the house who has recently finished treatment for chronic bronchitis, so keeping them separated from her was important.

Unfortunately, the kitchen also contains our washing machine, air fryer and dishwasher.

We immediately moved our air fryer to another room when we realized how terrified mom was of the noise.

We found a very quiet setting for the dishwasher, but we can't relocate the washing machine. Even on the lowest spin speed, the spin cycle frightened her badly.

Our vet prescribed daily gabapentin for her, and we did see improvement. She became relaxed enough to eventually tolerate the machine.

She still didn't want any interaction with us herself.

Then the kittens got sick with conjunctivitis.

Around day 14, all three developed eye symptoms. We took them to the vet and they were diagnosed with herpesvirus/conjunctivitis and prescribed treatment.

Because they're still spicy about handling, giving the medication means catching them and making kitten burritos to safely treat their eyes.

This was extremely stressful for mom to witness.

Whenever we had to handle/restrain a kitten for treatment, she would run away and hide inside a box.

The kittens themselves also hide afterward but they recover and go in play mode. They play, eat extremely well, interact with us and generally seem completely fine aside from needing their treatment.

Why we separated them

After discussing everything with our vet, we decided to separate mom from the kittens.

The reasoning was that the kittens are already around 14 weeks old, eating independently and need regular treatment and human interaction.

Meanwhile, mom was adjusting to indoor life for the first time at ~5 years old, to humans, dealing with unfamiliar household noises, monitoring three extremely active kittenss, watching those kittens increasingly approach humans she is terrified ofw and seeing us restrain them 3 times a day for medical treatment

We wondered whether removing the responsibility of constantly monitoring her kittens might allow her to decompress and start adapting to indoor life at her own pace.

Our biggest ope, if possible, is eventually to socialize her enough that she could be adopted.

However, we're also trying to be realistic about what is fair to a ~5-year-old cat who has lived outdoors her entire life. We don't want to force months of extreme stress on her simply because we would prefer an indoor-adoption outcome.

Mom has now been separated from the kittens for 5 days.

She is in a different foster home entirely, so she cannot see or smell her kittens.

There are two resident cats in that home, but they do not enter her room.

Her foster has provided multiple safe hiding places and is giving her space.

For the first few days after separation, mom meowed/called for her kittens.

Now she spends almost the entire day hidden.

She mostly comes out at night.

She doesn't play.

She doesn't really explore while people are present.

Sometimes she seems to simply sit and stare.

She is eating, drinking and using the litter box normally.

The kittens, meanwhile, appear completely fine without her. They're playing constantly, eating extremely well, interacting with us and continuing their treatment.

The part I'm struggling with

Before separation, mom wasn't comfortable with humans either but she didn't spend time hidden and staring into nothingness

She already explored primarily at night.

She never played with us.

Her main daytime activity seemed to be watching and monitoring her kittens, and she would play with them.

So I'm wondering whether what looks like "shutting down" is actually just the absence of the kittens revealing what her baseline behavior around humans currently is.

Or did we remove the only source of security/familiarity she had in an environment that was already terrifying to her?

It's only day 5 in the new foster, after only 14 days indoors before that, so I realize this is an incredibly short amount of time for a 5-year-old semi-feral cat.

For experienced feral/semi-feral fosters, I'd really appreciate your thoughts:

  1. Would you consider this behavior normal at day 5 after both separation from her kittens AND moving to a completely new environment?

  2. Would you continue the separation and give her more time to decompress, or would you consider reuniting her with the kittens after their treatment is finished?

  3. Could her kittens have been functioning as a social buffer/security blanket, or could keeping them together actually make it harder for mom to adapt because she's constantly focused on monitoring them?

  4. What specific behaviors would you use to distinguish "terrified cat decompressing" from a cat whose welfare is genuinely declining in foster?

  5. How long would you personally give a cat with her background before evaluating whether indoor socialization is realistic?

This is probably my biggest question:

  1. At ~5 years old, after living outdoors her entire life, having at least three litters, and still getting user to human approach even with gabapentin, would you personally continue trying to socialize her for adoption? Or would you start considering whether a safe outdoor/community-cat placement would ultimately give her better quality of life?

We're not expecting her to become affectionate in days or even weeks. Slow blinking at us and eventually eating in our presence already felt like significant progress!!

I mainly don't want to mistake "this cat needs much, much more time" for "this cat is miserable and we're pursuing the wrong outcome for her."

Our priority is her welfare, even if the best outcome for her ends up being different from the indoor-adoption outcome we originally hoped for.

I'd especially appreciate experiences from people who have fostered adult semi-feral mothers after their kittens were weaned/separated.

Three cats - tested positive for calici virus and herpesvirus (Deira)

I know I had said in my previous post that I would not be able to continue rescuing. And honestly, I never intended to take on more.

But I had to take these three cats to the vet as they couldn’t eat much.

Milo -Calicivirus + herpesvirus, with severe dental decay Teddy -Calicivirus + herpesvirus Twinkle -FIV + calicivirus + herpesvirus

I have tried asking for help locally, but so far, I have received no support for them.

They were taken to HudHud Clinic yesterday and are receiving the care they need. I had to request the doctor for some time to arrange the payment, but I urgently need to raise funds for their medication.

Consultation and test cost: AED 1993.95 Medication cost: AED 900 (yet to be added in the final bill)

I am asking for your help because I cannot manage this alone.

I can also share the direct vet payment link if you would prefer to pay the clinic directly.

Thank you.

Please help Julie and Forest with some dental care -USA

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for helping in the past with our cats. We have two more that could use some help now, please. We are only asking for the lower end of the estimate I have been given.

Julie is 14. Lately, her front top gums have become red and swollen. We brush her teeth and she doesn't really seem to be in pain but due to her age and a lower immune system I would really like them to be looked at soon, in case any have to be removed.

Forest is almost two. He has struggled with gingivitis most of his life. We brush his teeth which helps, but his breath is starting to smell bad and I notice he eats his food kind of gingerly. I think a good cleaning would tally help him.

Currently my mom is the only one employed and we are caring for several cats, some of which require special diets or medicine. She also cares for a colony near where she works. I am trying to help save up for their treatments, too. We try to take care of our cats, but we could really use a little help. Thank you.

Edit: Well now we have been told that a third cat needs dental work with possible extractions. https://gofund.me/0118cd3b1

Need homes for 5 elderly cats

Sadly, I need to find homes (preferably one home, but I'm being realistic) for my Mom's cats. She passed in 2022 (fuck cancer, one week from today will be 4 years). My brother was living in the home she had, with her 5 (now elderly; 10, 13, 14, 16 & 17) cats. Unfortunately, he's about to lose the home to foreclosure. We don't know how much time we have, but it's not long. He's moving in with our dad, stepmom, and younger sister. The cats can't go with him, as our sister is *insanely* allergic to them. I can't take them, I have a small place that's barely enough room for my 2 cats. I can take them temporarily if need be, but my landlord would lose his mind if he found out. Our stepmom has a friend who works for a sanctuary, but she can't find homes for cats as old as they are. I really don't want to drop them off at the shelter. All 5 are the sweetest little bugs. The youngest has bursts of kitten energy still, but doesn't get crazy. They're well behaved, not a destructive bone in their bodies. Would anyone be able to give me some advice? Or is anyone looking to love on some old kitties? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm way in over my head with everything that's going on. Her storage unit that had 100+ year old furniture thats been in our family forever is most likely gone, and now the house she absolutely loved. Now, all I can do is just make sure my brother and these cats have safe & loving homes.

Rosiah the Missing Trucker Cat

Hello everyone!

I wanted to try to help out my niece. She is a trucker and her overly- adventurous cat, Rosiah, jumped out of the truck yesterday and has been missing ever since. She is heartbroken and has been searching constantly for her ever since.

I am hoping if anyone has seen/sees Rosiah near the Lowe’s parking lot at 1101 N Saint Augustine Rd in Valdosta, GA, they can please reach out to her at the number on the flyer on this post, it would be really appreciated.

Even if not, thank you for taking the time to read this.

The cat who went through 8 years of abuse before finding her forever home: meet munchkin.

meet munchkin, the 8 year old cat who spent 7 of those years being abused and tossed between homes. when she came to us in the first picture, she had pieces of her fur torn out from stress. she was limping and covered in fleas and terrified of any sudden movements. since then, with the help of a veterinarian team, weve been able to bring her to the second image, where shes cuddly, confident, and flea-free! we are now working on getting her trained and registered as an ESA because of her naturally affectionate personality helping me with my panic attacks. after 8 years shes finally gotten her happy ending and we are so happy to be permanently accepting her into our home!!

Fundraising for our cat shelter in Romania

We've never had so many calls for help, for abandoned and sick kittens and cats. This year we've reached our limit and we really need help. The pictures speak for themselves, but to those who dont know about our shelter, we have a detailed website with the story, lots of videos on youtube, and hundreds of daily posts on patreon and facebook.

Any help for our +80 rescued kittens and tens of sick cats would mean a lot.
