SBC City Shelter

We are trying to do everything we can to curb the overpopulation issue here in So Cal. We need your help everyone! The shelters kitties need help yes but so do the ones dumped and born on the streets. Let’s not turn our backs on them just because they aren’t euth listed. They are all in danger and hungry 24/7! Please help us. We can’t do it without support! If everyone gave even $1 $2 or $5 we could make such a bigger difference. Won’t you set aside a few dollars to make a difference in their lives? They deserve to live in a home not running around in a parking lot near a busy street with a few toys and sleeping in the dirt. We can change this. 🩷🙏🏻

Artie and Clint are on the urgent list at Devore Shelter and are at risk of euthanasia. Both kittens are sick with URI/eye symptoms and would benefit from leaving the shelter environment.

Medical notes summary:
Both kittens have been treated for URI/conjunctivitis with medication. They have had eye discharge, squinting, sneezing/nasal discharge, and flea dirt treated with Capstar.

Latest shelter notes say they are eating and drinking, but still showing eye symptoms. The shelter noted both kittens would benefit from being removed from the shelter environment.

Behavior notes:
Calm, no aggression. They allow handling and holding, but are low-energy, likely due to URI.

‼️🆘 Many urgents at Devore right now!

Sad news. All 4 were rescued yesterday however the 2 tiny ones were very sick and passed away this morning. So pledges are due for only 2 kittens.
Foster said they were skin and bones ever after 2 weeks in a Devore fosters care. They likely were exposed to Pan Leuk at the shelter or prior to arrival. Their names were Kanga & Roo. I’m so sorry little ones. We tried, but by the time we got them yesterday it was just too late. Rest well babies.🤍🕊️

Update: Kittens will be fostered until healthy. After a few weeks then back to the vet to see if eyes are healing, if not surgical removal will be needed. Once kittens are ready they will go to rescue.

RC community, we need your support! The crisis in So California is worse than ever. We cannot keep up. As many as we rescue the same amount flood into the shelters. It is exhausting depressing and never ending. We need to do more preventatively! The only way to help is to sponsor much more TNR & TVNR in these high volume areas. We can’t do it without community support though. As much as we need funds for the euth listed cats we need this more! It will never get better if we don’t promote sponsor & actively participate in TNR efforts. Please help us by donating to the RC Tansport Fund so we can purchase more traps pay transport to s/n appoints and book more s/n. Some of these kittens and cats need medical attention beyond s/n as well. It’s very sad out there, but we can help! The video above shows a great TNR effort. We won’t TNR friendly cats or kittens if we have spots open. Fosters can hold these ones until Petco & Petsmart space is open! We can make a difference but we do need backing. Please donate below.
