Hello fellow animal people! My bunny, Freckles Von Speckles, was recently diagnosed with cancer, a Thymoma on his heart. 💔

He's currently on steroids, but I am trying to raise as much as I can to go towards his radiation therapy soon, starting next week.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, even just sharing means so much to me, thank you. 🐰🫶🏻

I've shared on so many other platforms, but have started to lose hope, so I decided to re-downlaod this app, and give it a try, see where it goes. 🥲

Emergency Help Needed: Scared my cat's got an infected foot and may need amputation. Cost is worrying.

My cat is about 2 years old, an outdoor cat (as per my mother's wishes, not mine). Two weeks ago, I saw her nail has been fully ripped off. I thought it would heal, it did not. Its just been bleeding a little, growing red, swollen and black and she's been incessantly licking it. I put on a sock on the wound to stop her licking, except it got blood marks and when i took it off, it smelled awful. She almost certainly has an infection, is licking even more incessantly and will not let me touch her foot. She is still eating and drinking, no fever but I'm scared I've left it too long and she may nerd amputation as her foot, up to the knee bend looks swollen.

I'm 18, no job. Only my dad works, he isn't willing to spend more than 200 on my cat. We don't have insurance (because of my dad). We aren't eligible for Rspca or blue Cross help due to our post code. It is Saturday, tomorrow is Sunday and vet's are already closed now. We can NOT afford emergency vet.

I have about 200 I can spend, but about 70 of that would go to just a normal consultation, and the rest on medicine which is fine. My problem is what if I've left her foot untreated for too long and now she may need an amputation. I also have a problem with leaving it any longer. I'm so scared, what can I do?

My cat is sick and I don't know what to do

I adopted my cat Mushy about 3 years ago when he was 4 years old. He's the first pet I've ever had.

So far there's been no health issues, but recently he's been having issues pooping.

I had various tests done and it turns out that he has a mass in his rectum that could possibly be cancerous.

So far I've spent about $4,000 on all the tests, appointments, and treatments.

I got pet insurance but they have so far denied one of the two claims I submitted because the symptoms happened before the policy started, even though I submitted a claim for a date after the policy went into effect.

I could continue to do more tests to determine if it's cancerous but it's very expensive to do that.

I'm not sure what to do. If I can't get any held from the insurance, I don't think I can afford to do more tests or have the mass removed.

I'm able to give him some relief using laxatives, but it's not a practical approach to handle the problem as it's a struggle to get him to take it.

If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks.

TLDR: My cat is sick with what could be cancer, I can't afford testing or treatment, and I don't know what to do.

Difficulty dealing with our new (loud) cat

Me and my partner are having a hard time dealing with our new super chatty cat. Here is our situation, if someone has any idea what could help us (i'd like to note that we will see his vet in the upcoming days to talk about it and check his health and if he has any signs of physical discomfort).

First things to mention are: he is just 1 year old. He is neutered. We adopted him from a shelter 3 and a half months ago. He is very sociable with humans and apparently with other cats too (that's what the shelter told us). The shelter also described him as a calm and *quiet* cat. Getting a second cat is out of the question for now.

With that said; here are the details:

He meows constantly except at night or when he is sleeping. He is well cared for and almost never alone at home. We brush him, play with him when we can and he has access to outdoors a few hours a day (we only keep him inside at night because he has a habit of requesting to come in and out by meowing loudly and we'd like to have a peaceful night + there are roads around our house and we don't like knowing him outside with cars passing by at night (he's a entirely black cat)). He has been chatty since the week we got him but it's gradually getting worst. We don't think it's an attention-seeking behaviour because he will sometimes leave the room we are in to meow elsewhere, and he also meows when he doesnt see us. We tried ignoring him which doesn't work. We've now switched to rewarding him when he shuts up (note that he has very little interest in food) by giving him attention and cuddles, but it's not doing any good so far. He meows even when there are no stimulations around him and the house is quiet, but he does meow more when someone talks.

I think that's all the things to note but I'll answer any questions. It's kind of driving us crazy, we always had quiet animals and we are folks that enjoy peace and silence. It's distressing us not to know how to help him, and it's getting to the point that we are just annoyed by him and sometimes even regret we adopted him. We will never give up on him and we are willing to try anything to make it work, but if he stays that chatty forever it will for sure stain our experience of owning a pet a little and leave a bad taste in our mouths. We don't hope he will suddenly go completely quiet, but at least that he will settle down a bit.

Hoping someone will have advices ! Thanks for reading.

My cat consistently vomiting after dental surgery, need help

Hi everyone, I really need some advice or to hear from anyone who has gone through something similar.

My cat, Rob, is FIV+. He just underwent dental surgery last Monday. Since then, I have been finding vomit with hairballs daily. Because I live in a multi-cat household, I couldn't tell who it was at first, but today I finally confirmed it’s Rob.

He has now vomited for 4 consecutive days, exactly once a day, and there is a hairball in it each time. He is still begging for food, but he is licking his lips and gagging/retching quite a bit.

I have already reached out to our vet and am currently waiting for their reply. However, I am completely broke right now and don't have the money if he needs to go back into the clinic immediately. If the vet tells me he needs emergency care, I will have to find a way to fundraise for his bills.

Has anyone else dealt with severe, consecutive daily vomiting or major hairball issues right after dental surgery, especially with an FIV+ kitty? Could the anesthesia or post-op meds have triggered this? Any advice on how to keep him stable while I wait for the vet would be so appreciated.

hello, brief background about me so i dont creep everyone out here… i am a 5th year architecture student trying to keep up financially so i can pay all the bills that needs to be paid.

because of what i see, seeing my parents be stressed out studies ko, i took the initiative to not ask my parents for help with all the site visits i need to go to, boards that needs to be printed out or simply, when they give me allowance, that is what i only use and kapag may emergency, i take loan then pay it back when i get my monthly allowance.

recently, our dogs started having skin problems. dinala namin sila sa vet para macheck and umokay naman but suddenly their eyes started turning a little bit white and their skin is getting thick and they look so uncomfortable with how heavy it feels. one puppy even have her private part red and swollen.

i bought cage to isolate the one who has her private part swollen because one of her siblings started licking that part. i am really desperate to ask for help because school is starting days from now and i am running out of funds to attend school.

i am willing to give updates and everything. i am just so desperate.

my dog has heartworms i need help

Hi I wanted to write a very detailed explanation to our situation right now because I live in pretty much a 3rd world country and our vets even though they’re great people are not able to give us the good care.

So my dog used to be a stray dog. I’ve adopted her just over a year ago and she’s now around 4 years old.

She has always been a very lazy dog so it took me a long while to notice any issues. 2 months ago after exercises I noticed extreme fatigue and panting but when I talked to the vet, they said it’s summer now it’s normal. We did a blood test anyways and her liver values were not normal (ALT- 300) (AST- 56) also (WBC- 4.7). They decided to treat the liver by giving shots and medication so for the past 20 days we’ve been doing that.

So we did blood tests again and it became (ALT- 296) (AST- 44) (WBC- 4.7) The vet decided maybe there’s another problem so they sent us to another vet that does ultrasounds for liver and it was clean. That vet took her fever and said he’s worried about blood parasites. So we did a test for that but that kit also tests for heart worms apparently.

So we got negative for blood parasites and positive for heart worms. And there’s a few problems with that first is the medication for the fast kill method isn’t found here and we’re stuck with the slow kill method. I may try to obtain this medication from another country if it makes a bug difference.

The other problem is my vet said come back for another blood test but we’ll get the results in about 2 weeks. Waiting all this time without doing anything else is making me anxious, is this normal protocol. They said they send the test and results take time to come back.

My problem is that around 9 months ago my dog had jaundice and they did a bunch of things like xray and ended up just giving her iv and saying we good now even though i’m assuming around that time the heart worm maybe was the problem too… because there was one vet that said she wanted to test for blood parasites then too but the male doctor claimed it was something else and they just did iv fluids.

So I believe my dog has had heart worms for a very long time. I’m very scared for her because she has lost a lot of her energy.

how would a classic approach to this kinda case look? with antibiotics etc. I also saw some people recommend xrays online but my vet never mentioned that… so i don’t even know what to do where to start. any kinda info is appreciated.

Cat emergency dental

Hi everyone,

I’m asking for help for a stray cat that I rescued from the street.

When I found him he was living a hard life outside, trying to survive on his own. Over time he’s slowly learned to trust people and started to enjoy being safe. Seeing him finally relax and realise he didn’t have to fight for everything anymore has been amazing.

Sadly, he’s now been diagnosed with severe stomatitis. His gums are badly inflamed, ulcerated and bleeding, and the inflammation goes right to the back of his mouth. The vets have said he must be in constant pain, even though he tries so hard not to show it.

The only real chance of giving him a pain free life is a full mouth extraction. It’s a major operation and there are no guarantees, but the vets believe it’s his best chance. If the surgery can’t go ahead, his quality of life will have to be reviewed and euthanasia may become the kindest option. After everything he’s already survived, that’s absolutely heartbreaking.

I’m doing everything I can for him, but I can’t afford the cost of this surgery on my own. That’s why I’m asking for help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards his treatment and recovery.

If you’re not able to donate, please sharing this would mean so much. Every share gives him another chance of reaching someone who can help.

Thank you for taking the time to read his story and for giving this little stray a chance. He deserves the opportunity to live a life without pain.

Please help my dog Xiaoba with emergency vet care

Hi everyone, my 3-year-old miniature poodle Xiaoba is currently in the ER after vomiting, bloody diarrhea, not eating or drinking, and becoming very lethargic. He is only about 4.6 kg, so dehydration is a serious concern.

He has already had two emergency visits, and the total cost is now over $6,000. The doctors are recommending hospitalization, IV fluids, injectable medications, and monitoring.

I’m doing everything I can, but I’m struggling to cover the full cost. Any donation or share would mean so much and would go directly toward his emergency care.

Thank you so much for reading and supporting Xiaoba.

I dont have money for the vet what can i do

Hi so im 17 and currently dont have a job,i got my bearded dragon as a birthday present when i was 10 from my parents however they offer no financial help with him so i have to buy food ,bulbs, vet appointments etc by myself ,on Christmas Eve i noticed his eye looked off and his pupil had separated, that eye was always slightly bulged compared to the other but i thought nothing of it ,so i took him for a consultation and the vet said it probably cataracts and to just keep an eye on it incase there is a tumor behind his eye and now he is rubbing it against things and barely opening it so ik its irritating him and i need to bring him back to the vets but ive seen it can cost around 2-3 grand for eye removal and im assuming thats what will happen if it is a tumor as the vet explained but there is no way i can pay that amount of money ,so im wondering if theres any way i can get financial help from like a charity or like if anyone has been in this situation what did you do ? Ik my baby deserves to have a financially secure owner and im ashamed to have to make this post but he is literally my world and i just want the best for him -i made a post in December when i first noticed his eye and got some horrible comments from people with no empathy so im hoping this one will be different and i get some actually helpful comments -thanks for reading

He's been chained on hips, to the point it almost cut his body in half, would you care to help this poor baby? He needs help, he's now saved!

The moment we removed his chains, we felt an overwhelming sense of relief. How much more relief do you think he felt after finally being set free? 💔

A huge thank you to my brother for helping rescue him and putting an end to his suffering. Because of him, this sweet boy is finally safe. ❤️

He is now under my care, and I will do everything I can to help him recover. My next step is to bring him to the vet so his wounds can be cleaned and treated properly. I also want to have his blood checked, including a CBC, to know the full extent of his condition and make sure he receives the right treatment.

I'm humbly asking for your help once again. If you can spare anything for his transportation to the veterinary clinic and his medical expenses, it would mean the world to us.

To those who promised to help once I was able to rescue him, I'm kindly asking if you could fulfill your promise. 🙏

Every bit of support will go directly toward his recovery.
This baby has suffered enough. He deserves to heal, to be loved, and to finally experience the life every dog deserves.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying, sharing, donating, and cheering him on. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as we begin his journey to recovery. 🐾❤️

GI concerns and massive vet bill

Hi all! I’d really appreciate any help on the matter, I’m kind of at a loss. 2 ish weeks ago I took my Husky (~3 yo, Female) into the vet for green discharge from the eye. No biggie, needed eye drops. She ended up noticing that her anal glands needed to be decompressed, and asked abt her stool. Right before going, we had changed her food over between flavours. Her poops had been soft for a few weeks, but shortly after the food change her poops turned green. Abnormal for her fs. The vet immediately assumed it was stomach inflammation and/or Giardia and gave us a large enough dose of antibiotics to treat both “just incase” (she’s 150lbs lol). Suddenly we have a $500 vet bill with NO WARNING.

About 6/10 days into the antibiotics, I noticed her poop was almost a mousse like rubbery texture and yellow. I called the vet just to ask, and never got a call back (understandable, things happen). Well it’s now 4 days off of the antibiotics, and she’s having diarrhea and it’s green AGAIN. She doesn’t have a problem holding it tho, she’s acting completely normal, eating and drinking, but I’m concerned they just assumed without tests before and it’s a completely different issue now and I rlly can’t afford to take her in with that kind of price tag again. Any thoughts?

To add: we changed her to a (RLLY EXPENSIVE) low fat food while on the antibiotics, and my bf used the last of it on the final day. So to get her back on her regular food, we’ve been doing 2 cups white rice, 1 cup chicken, and ~.75 cup of her kibble, PLUS the purina one fortiflora powder in her food (which we’ve done the whole time). I rlly don’t think this is the cause, but just for context. I come from a family that doesn’t believe in the vet (besides the necessary ofc), so this is all rlly new to me and I’m trying my best to be trusting lol.

Friend's cat experiencing eye inflammation, and they can't get to the vet. Any advice appreciated.

Basically the title. My friend's cat is a domestic short hair cat who was a runt, about 8ish pounds, she isn't spayed (friend is 17, his mother is broke and refuses to get the cat spayed). The cat is roughly 8 years old.

Over the last few days, jewel's (the cat) left eye has swollen around the nicitating membrane and eyelids. Along side that, her eye has producing plenty of discharge. Before the swelling occurred, she was blinking more frequently than usual. The eye itself is fine, its more the tissue surrounding it that's concerning.

Her right eye is completely fine. Does anyone have any idea how serious this is/what could've caused it?

Pasig Cats 💔5 have now… 💔💔💔

We urgently need help for our rescued cats.
I'm heartbroken to share that five of the cats we rescued have now passed away, and four more urgently need veterinary care.

We placed them with a shelter we believed would provide proper care. Unfortunately, we recently learned that one kitten had passed away without us being informed. When our rescue assistant visited the shelter, we were told that several cats became sick after getting caught in the rain, and four had already died. We were never notified that they were ill, even though we regularly asked for updates in our group chat.

To be honest, I am angry. I am grieving.. I am so upset ;((

Our rescue assistant also noticed that the dogs we brought there have become much thinner since arriving.
The shelter owner explained that she lives about four hours away and relies on caretakers to manage the shelter. Sadly, another cat has since passed away, and our immediate priority is getting the remaining cats the medical attention they need.

I tried to raise support yesterday but wasn't able to secure any assistance.

I've already give. over $300 CAD to this shelter to help cover with our rescued expenses, donated a large cat kennel, and 40 kg of dog food, but the remaining cats still need veterinary treatment and food.

If anyone is able to help with their veterinary expenses or food, or has any suggestions or resources that could help, I would be incredibly grateful. If you'd like your support to go toward a specific need, such as veterinary care or food, just let me know.

Thank you for reading and for caring about these animals.

I got bit by a ferrel kitten, is it necessary to go to urgent care?

*UPDATE:
I went to urgent care, they soaked it in iodine, gave me antibiotics, and sent me on my way. They said rabies was optional but not a huge concern because, in my state, rabies is extremely rare. I was also up to date on my tetanus shot so they said I could get a booster but I didnt have to. I am currently taking the antibiotics!

My finger is bruised and i think it may have punctured my nail. I washed it in warm water with soap, cleaned it with alcohol, and put antibiotic. Im hesitant to go because urgent care is expensive, but I'll go if there are serious risks.

Help me get my pet emergency medical care

This is my golden retriever, Rosie. She turns 5 in August.

This morning I found a large, hard lump under her chin after she winced when I pet her. She’s been lethargic, drooling, barely drinking water, and seems to have trouble using her tongue.

I’m terrified because six years ago my previous dog developed a very similar lump in almost the exact same place. It turned out to be an aggressive cancer, and we lost her just two weeks later.

I’m trying not to assume the worst, but I can’t ignore how similar this feels.

The timing couldn’t be worse. I’m recently unemployed, my account is overdrawn, rent is due in two days, and I can’t even afford the exam fee to get Rosie seen. I’ve applied for CareCredit, loans, and every resource I can think of, but I’ve hit a wall. I currently don’t have pet insurance, and applying now would require upfront payment or a waiting period. I plan to get her insurance after this.

I called my local free clinic and explained everything. They were kind, but they only offer services to pets belonging to people who are unhoused or disabled. But because I’m not technically homeless… I don’t qualify for help.

I can’t even walk into a regular vet or emergency clinic without money upfront.

All I want is to take her in asap and ensure her condition doesn’t deteriorate. If you feel compelled, please help.

Thank you for reading. Hug your dogs a little tighter today. ❤️ feel free to look through pics of my goofball.
