I deeply apologize for asking for help so often lately. This season, we are experiencing a severe wave of Feline Coronavirus (FIP/FPV) here in Morocco. Because of this, so many of my cats are falling severely sick with different illnesses all at the same time—both the ones I posted about before and others I haven't published yet. This has put immense pressure and heavy veterinary bills on me.

I am an independent rescuer in Morocco. I recently found a pregnant stray cat I used to feed bleeding heavily. She gave birth to some stillborn kittens on the street, and the rest unfortunately died inside her womb. It was a life-threatening emergency, so I rushed her to the clinic for an immediate c-section surgery to save her life.

Please note that this attached invoice is for the c-section surgery cost only, which is 1,200 MAD (around $130 USD). There are other additional expenses for her clinic admission, check-up, and X-rays.

Title: URGENT — Please help with advice or low-cost treatment options (India).

Hi everyone. I'm (19M) posting this as a desperate attempt to help my cat, Chintu (8 Months old, Female). I'm from WB, India, and my financial situation is very limited. I don't have the money or connections to access advanced veterinary treatment easily, so I'm hoping someone here, especially a veterinarian or someone who has dealt with a similar injury, can guide me.

What happened:

About two days ago, Chintu was attacked by dogs. After the attack, she couldn't walk properly, and her hind leg(s) weren't working and was kind of paralysed. We contacted a vet, who came and gave her an injection and medication.

Her symptoms since the attack:

- She cannot walk.

- Her hind leg(s) are not functioning.

- She is responsive and has been eating.

- She has been passing stool while lying down.

- As of my latest observation, she has not urinated since the attack.

X-ray report:

“X ray of hip, vertebral column of cat (Chintu) shows:

- Fracture of 4th Lumber Vertebral body and compression of spinal cord in the adjoining area of Fracture.

- Other findings are non contributory.”

We have been told that she will need conservative treatment because surgery is not available to us. I'm trying to understand whether there is a realistic chance of recovery and how to care for her safely.

Questions for veterinarians and people with relevant experience:

1. Can a cat with an L4 vertebral body fracture and spinal cord compression recover the ability to walk with conservative treatment?

2. What factors determine whether the fracture is stable enough to treat without surgery?

3. What does her inability to walk tell us about possible spinal cord or nerve damage?

4. How dangerous is it that she hasn't urinated since the attack?

5. What safe nursing care does she need at home while we seek further veterinary help?

6. Are there any government veterinary hospitals, veterinary colleges, animal welfare organisations, or low-cost referral services in West Bengal that could help us?

I'm not asking anyone to promise that she'll recover. I just want to understand her chances, prevent further harm, and find a way to get her the care she needs despite our financial limitations.

If you're a veterinarian or someone with knowledge, please let me know what information would help you assess the situation. If you've been through something similar with your cat, I'd be grateful to hear about your experience.

About 5 weeks ago I posted on here about a stray mama cat and her 5 babies that my mom and I unexpectedly took in. Thanks to an absolutely incredible member of this community purchasing from our wishlist we were set up with an extra litter box, litter, kitten food, food bowls, and a scratcher bed that all helped so incredibly much when the babies started exploring, eating, and getting litter trained. Since that amazing donation I’ve been able to stay on top of it financially and the kittens are doing so well!

Unfortunately Mabel (thanks to her creaky little old lady meow we decided to give her an old lady name and carry the trend to the babies) had 2 vet visits over the last 2 weeks, first due to bad diarrhea that required a round of dewormer and propectalin and then very restless behavior that ended up being a double ear infection that she had flushed and treated with a 30 day ointment compound. During this same time, our youngest cat, Luna, developed an abscess the size of a ping pong ball on her throat that had to be lanced and drained. Thankfully both of them are doing SO MUCH better (I literally knock on wood everytime I even think this) but back to back trips like this was a big hit financially.

I hoped that I wouldn’t have to post again but we are now in desperate need of litter and wet food. I used the last of the litter we had on Mabel’s box today when I scooped it, and we have 2 days of wet food left for them. The babies are still doing great with pate but Mabel loves all Fancy Feast and non-pate Friskies. I’ve updated the wishlist and tried to put a variety of different sizes of litter and food, but anything at all would be so so so appreciated. I’ve also included the updated Walmart wishlist as well.

Mocha, our dog, was just diagnosed with thyroid carcinoma, and I’m asking for help to get the surgery the specialist says she needs. Mocha is so much more than a pet to our family. She has been a true emotional support animal for us, especially for my wife and our daughter.

Our Daughter started her first semester of university in August, and while we did everything we could to make that happen financially, her leaving home has been a huge emotional blow for us, especially for my wife. I work long hours as a truck driver, and while I’m away, Mocha has been the one constant source of comfort at home for her now. The support and healing Mocha gives every day are hard to put into words. Which is why I let gofundme ai rewrite some of the paragraphs I wrote. It pretty much nailed it so kudos to them.

We first noticed a small bump on Mocha’s neck in June of 2026 and took her to the vet that same day. We were told it was likely a bee sting, and it seemed to go away. But about a month later, it had become a 5 cm lump, and my wife rushed her back. Because it was an emergency visit we didnt see her normal vet. They x-rayed her neck and came back with it could be cancer, malignant or benign and also resting on her esophagus. Further tests would need to be done but ultimately she'd need surgery. She gave us specialists to call for the tests. Turns out those specialist do not do the testing we'd need a diagnosis and then we call them. So we spent 200 dollars to not do the tests we needed for a proper diagnosis. We had to pay another 200 and waste a week waiting for her normal Vet to be in. Her normal Vet is Amazing. Got the tests, came back all clear. Except the biopsy. Thyroid Carcinoma malignant. We contact the specialist schedule an appointment... Another week wait. Of course I'm frantically researching and knowing the size and location, I know it's pretty unlikely the surgeon can save her. But to our Surprise she said the tumor is movable so she's confident that surgery will go well. But we need at least $6060usd.

We are financially stretched for the next few months. We used much of what we had to help our daughter start university, and the rest has already gone toward Mocha’s tests and put us into some debt just to get answers. Every donation will go directly toward Mocha’s surgery.

As a family we rarely use social media. Even our daughter typically uses it to share creative things she's done vs doom scrolling. This weekend we're going out with pamphlets door to door and asking local buisness if we can advertise and set up a fundraiser table. My daughter is making the pamphlets and passing them around her university. Even some extended family are taking time out to try some outreach in their areas. We really love our dog.
