Abandoned Dog in Need of a Loving Home

This poor dog was left outside our neighbor’s gate here in Boni, Mandaluyong. He looks stressed and frightened, but he is gentle and not aggressive at all. He hasn’t moved from his spot, as if he’s still waiting for his owner to return, which is truly heartbreaking 😭.

He seems to be an indoor dog, as he’s scared of passing vehicles. Sadly, I cannot take him in because my apartment is too small and I already care for senior dogs and cats.

I’m hoping someone with a kind heart can welcome him into their home. I am willing to cover the pet transpo costs to help him reach his new family.

📍 Location: Boni, Mandaluyong

UPDATE: I checked on him around 12:30 a.m. and noticed he had moved from his spot and was roaming around the area. Whenever I try to go near him, he would walk away. I observed him for a few minutes, then saw him follow a man and goes down the alley.

I truly hope he just got lost and wasn’t abandoned, especially since he still has a leash. 🙏 Hoping he finds his way back home if he really is just lost.

10month old Blaze is on 7/7 euthanasia deadline ‼️ NYC Shelter 🚨

Please comment share pledge foster adopt rescue

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1NqaxvSmdY/?mibextid=wwXIfr

TO BE EUTHANIZED 7/7/26 IN NYC

BLAZE is a sweet, friendly, playful PUPPY who has spent his time at the ACC hanging out in the staff’s office. Quite frankly, we are shocked to see him on the dreaded list to be euthanized but here we are. Please watch his movie and read his staff notes. Blaze needs you now! Please message our page ASAP to foster or adopt this stellar boy.

MY MOVIE:
BLAZE, ID 253264❤️FRIENDLY BOY
https://youtu.be/JT32lQQpfAk

A staff member writes:

Meet Blaze! This handsome 10-month-old boy is full of potential and ready to find a family to call his own. Blaze is an alert, intelligent dog who enjoys learning and already knows several basic cues, including sit, stay, wait, slow, and no. His previous owner described him as eager to learn and ready for training, making him a great candidate for someone interested in continuing his education and helping him reach his full potential.

As a young dog, Blaze loves staying active and enjoys running, playing with rope toys, and relaxing with his favorite people after a day of fun. He is looking for an adopter who can provide him with regular exercise, enrichment, and consistent guidance.

Blaze's previous owner reported some resource guarding around food and toys. Because of this, we recommend a home with no children under the age of 13 and adopters who are committed to using positive reinforcement training and appropriate management techniques. With structure, patience, and understanding, Blaze has the potential to be a wonderful companion.

If you're looking for a smart, energetic young dog who is eager to learn and grow alongside you, Blaze may be the perfect match!

PLAYGROUP SUMMARIES: DOG TO DOG:

6/30: Blaze greets a F LMB dog at the gate offering bouncy play behavior. He paws at her face and is walked away.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:

Blaze is a very active, playful dog who loves being around people and enjoys plenty of attention and affection. He can be quite vocal and is highly social, preferring to spend most of his time either near his family or in his crate, though he experiences high anxiety and does not do well when crated for extended periods. Blaze allows his family to bathe and brush him without issue, but he is fearful and uncomfortable with nail trims. On walks, he is a strong puller and can be somewhat difficult to manage on leash, typically enjoying walks that last 20–30 minutes without a set schedule. During car rides, Blaze may have occasional accidents, including both urinating and defecating in the vehicle. He knows several basic cues, including sit, stay, wait, slow, and no. His previous owner’s favorite thing about him was that he is alert, eager, and ready to learn through training. Blaze’s favorite activities include running, relaxing, and playing with rope toys.

7/2: Blaze was given frozen enrichment. Blaze sniffed the enrichment, then looked at staff. Staff reached out a finger to pet Blaze. Blaze quickly went to bite the staff's finger, with a snapping biting motion. It was very quick and when staff pulled away, he began to eat.

7.1: Blaze was at the front of the pop-up crate with a wiggly body. He was let out into the secured room and immediately began jumping up and down on staff. When staff attempted to leash him, Blaze began biting the leash and engaging in a game of tug-of-war. Staff released the leash and began calling his name to redirect his attention. Once his name was called, Blaze would immediately release and continue walking. Staff were eventually able to leash Blaze, and once leashed, he turned his head and applied slight pressure to a staff member’s leg with his mouth before slipping out of the leash. During the process of re-leashing him, Blaze nipped at the staff member’s hand but did not break skin or leave any marks. Blaze was then taken outside for a walk, where he grabbed the leash a few times. Once his name was called, he would release the leash and continue walking. Once the walk was over, Blaze returned to his kennel without any issues.

6.30 Blaze is exuberant in his pop up when staff approaches, loose body and wiggly, jumping up as staff leash him. Blaze remains high energy with a soft body on his walk. During his walk blaze grabs items her finds on the sidewalk and holds them, needing to be distracted with treats and a squeaker for staff to reclaim the items. Blaze's leash is easily clipped and he is returned to his pop-up

6.26: When staff approached Blaze’s kennel, he was jumping up and down with a loose and wiggly body. Staff made multiple attempts to leash him due to him wearing a cone following his neuter surgery. Once leashed, Blaze was taken outside for a walk where he walked side to side while exploring his surroundings. On the way back to his kennel, he pulled moderately on the leash. Staff was able to remove his leash without issue and provide him with a treat.

6.21 Blaze is at the front of his kennel. he has a soft and wiggly body when approached, and is exuberant jumping and pushing out of his pop up when approached. Once leashed Blaze is taken for a walk.
Blaze has a soft body and pulls a mild amount while on the walk. He ignores people passed and is easily returned to his kennel.

6.19 Blaze is at the front of his popup crate barking as staff approaches. He has stepped or jumped in his feces and gotten them everywhere. Staff attempts to leash him but he keeps jumping and they can't get the leash over his head. Staff closes off the meet and greet room and opens the popup; when he heads for the door, they slip the loop over his head easily and take him for a walk. He walks with loose body and minimal pulling, but does veer back and forth quite a bit. Staff attempts to encourage him to walk through the grass to help clean his hind feet of feces, but he shies away from it. He walks eagerly, sniffing occasionally. He is very interested by a small box truck, and keeps trying to look up into the cab. He pulls towards several members of the public with high wagging tail and soft face: a group of young adults, a young man, and a middle-aged woman. He ignores offered treats but is easily redirected verbally and with a gentle tug. He returns to his crate without incident and eagerly investigates his toys. He barks for several minutes after his crate is covered but then settles.

6.18 PM Blaze is at the front of his kennel as staff approaches. He is wiggly and bouncy as the staff attempts to leash him, and keeps tangling his legs in the leash. After several tries, staff is able to slip the loop over his head and take him out to the yard, where they attach a drag lead. He explores the yard some, playing with a tennis ball. He tucks his ears back each time he approaches the bench where staff is sitting and shows little interest in treats. He relaxes on a snuffle mat and chews on the tennis ball, although he keeps flinching at loud noises or when the strong winds shake the tarps along the sides of the yard. When staff approach to leash him again, he evades them with a loose and wiggly body. Staff grabs his drag leash and re-leashes him eagerly, then returns him to the building, taking him to a pop-up crate instead of his previous kennel. He needs coaxing to enter the crate but does go in to investigate the toys and treats. For the rest of the evening, he keeps barking and crying when his crate is not covered (and even sometimes when it is).

6.18 Blaze is at the front of his kennel. He is exuberant with a soft and wiggly body as staff attempts to leash him. He allows staff to adjust the leash in a different room before, still keeping his exuberant and soft body, while being taken on a walk. Blaze walks with a soft body with mild to moderate pulling and is responsive to the handler.

INTAKE BEHAVIOR
Date of Intake: 17-Jun-2026
Summary: very energetic, friendly

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR
Date of Initial:18-Jun-2026
Summary: Friendly, high energy, sits for treats, allowed handling with gentle restraint

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Level 4

Recommendations:
No children under 13

Recommendations comments:
No children (under 13): Due to potential challenges, we recommend a home with no children. Blaze lived with an older small dog and was reported to alert bark, lunges, hard barks and/or growls, and snaps. Blaze has done well greeting other large dogs at the gate. We recommend slow introductions and keeping resources separated should he go to a home with another dog.

Potential challenges:
House soiling
Resource guarding
Basic manners/poor impulse control
Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition
Anxiety
Leash-biting

Potential challenges comments:
House Soiling: Blaze is reported to have accidents in the previous home. He will need guidance and consistency to learn to eliminate outside. We recommend crate training (the crate must be made positive and never used as a punishment), frequent walks, rewards for eliminating outside, consistent feeding schedule and careful monitoring when inside. Accidents should never be punished as it will likely make the problem worse. Please see the handout on House Soiling.

Resource guarding: Blaze finds food & toys of a high value. He has a tense body or hovers over them, snaps or attempts to bite, growls or hard barks. We recommend Blaze be left alone when eating. Nothing should ever be taken directly out of his mouth. Should you have to remove something from Blaze, we recommend always trading for something of an equal or higher value. He should be taught the “drop” cue and trade-up games. Please see handout on Resource Guarding.

Basic Manner/Impulse Control: Blaze lacks basic manners and impulse control. It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Leave it", "Sit/Stay", "Down" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward-based training only is recommended. Please see the handout on Basic Manners and Impulse Control.

Mouthiness/Poor Bite Inhibition: Blaze is quick to put their teeth on skin. This is likely an attention-seeking behavior, but it should be replaced with an alternative behavior as it can frighten people. We recommend never playing with bare hands – always with a toy - and ending play or attention whenever Blaze puts teeth on skin. He should be rewarded with attention and treats when he stops and/or when he is seeking attention in alternate ways. Please see handout on Mouthiness and Poor Bite Inhibition.

Anxiety: Blaze is reported to have anxiety in his previous home. If Blaze displays anxious behavior in his future home, we recommend puzzle toys, long walks, and giving him other things to focus on to alleviate his anxiety. Positive reinforcement, force-free training only should be used. Please see the handout on Generalized Anxiety.

Leash Biting: Blaze is quick to grab the leash in his mouth. We recommend walking him with treats or a toy to dissuade him from grabbing the leash. Positive reinforcement, force-free training is advised to teach him to focus on you rather than grabbing the leash. Please see the handout on Leash Manners.

• Julian #A1289807

• 2 years old

Bio

Julian is looking for a patient adopter who can help him settle in at his own pace. The shelter has been a scary place for him, and he has been observed feeling overwhelmed in his kennel while preferring the comfort of his bed. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, Julian may begin to build confidence as he adjusts to a new environment. He is waiting for someone willing to give him the chance to decompress and show his personality in a quieter setting.

Due to capacity at the shelter, this pet is currently at risk for euthanasia. We are urgently seeking placement through adoption, foster, or approved rescue.

If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing this dog, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov as soon as possible. When emailing, be sure to include a callback phone number so our team can contact you promptly.

📝 Shelter Notes:

6/30/26: During placement on the euthanasia list, Alex was observed pancaked against the back kennel wall with a tense body, pinned ears, and whale eyes. Staff were able to place a leash over his head and attempted to comfort him with baby talk and treats, but he remained shut down. He was lightly muzzled and carried to the runs. Outside, he displayed a somewhat more relaxed posture and sniffed neighboring dogs, but largely kept to himself. Staff had to carry him back to his kennel, where he again pancaked himself against the back wall.

7/2/26: Alex tucked his head into the corner of his kennel and pulled his legs underneath himself when staff opened the kennel door. Staff slowly knelt down and offered treats, but he showed no interest. When a leash was placed on him, his body became even more tense. He was lightly muzzled and carried to a new kennel.

🚑 Medical Notes:

• 2-year-old intact male weighing 32 pounds

• Heartworm negative

• Received tranquilizer at intake

• No other medical concerns documented

💙 Alex showed some curiosity toward other dogs when outside of his kennel, suggesting there may be a social and affectionate dog beneath his fear. He urgently needs a quiet, patient environment where he can decompress, feel safe, and begin to build trust.

No one had come for Arlo. He has just 20 hours left to live. Euth 7/5 11am Downey ACC,CA - pls message me, email Isabeldesiree8@gmail.com or text 657-424-7580 if you can foster (temp & free) or adopt Arlo. Out of state possible

His to family chose to surrender him after he didn’t get along with their small dog.Instead of trying to fix the problem, they rather got rid of him..

🆘His final notice already expired.
His time has run out and he is scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow morning if no foster or adopter will be found 🆘

Arlo A5779814 1yr Male Shepsky 72 lbs.

Surrender notes:
Very attentive to things around, he loves watching birds, he loves stuffed animals and although he’s big, he loves to cuddle
He was friendly with larger dogs / a German shepherd in particular, but didn’t do well with smaller dogs
Playful with children, good in the car, pulls on leash and barks at other dogs on walks,
Knows commands: sit, paw, wait, take it
His favorite toys are stuffies and his favorite activities: tug of war and playing with stuffies

On 5/27/26 A5779814 climbed out of its enclosure and had an incident with the 3 year old Dachshund causing a little wound to the right shoulder.

The behaviors described today reflect the dog’s responses in a shelter environment. It may differ significantly from how they behave in a home.
Arlo (Intact) was at the front of the kennel with a calm demeanor when the runner arrived. He allowed himself to
be leashed with ease and then exited the kennel on his own. However, Arlo was barking toward his neighboring kennels,
with a tense posture along the way. Arlo was then allowed into the yard, where he stood with a stiff posture as he was greeted by some of the dogs. Arlo then
lunged toward one of the dogs but stopped when the handler intervened with a correction tool.
He was unable to coexist peacefully in the yard and was then returned to his kennel; however, firm leash guidance was needed as he refused to enter on his own.

Can you foster or responsibly adopt him?

Adorable 7-year old boy Miller is on euthanasia list at BARC, Houston, TX 1 PM 7/2/26. Sweet, loves humans, easy to walk, simply the perfect, more mature boy past rambunctious puppy phase. All he needs is a good home. Please help

🆘💙 MILLER IS LOSING HIS LIFE FOR BEING STRESSED IN A SHELTER 💙🆘
Miller (#A2081273) is a 7-year-old Staffy mix who was surrendered by his owner and now finds himself on BARC’s euthanasia list.
The shelter environment has become overwhelming for him, but underneath the barking and kennel stress is a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to be with people.
🐶 MILLER #A2081273
💙 Staffordshire Mix
💙 Male
💙 7 Years Old
💙 63 lbs
💙 Heartworm Negative
Staff consistently describe Miller as:
✨ Wiggly and friendly
✨ Easy to leash
✨ Walks well on leash
✨ Loves human interaction
✨ Relaxed outside of his kennel
✨ Sweet and affectionate
One of the most telling notes described Miller greeting staff with “tappy paws” and a wiggly body when they approached. ❤️
Another noted that after returning to his kennel, he calmly laid down and relaxed.
Miller’s biggest struggle is the shelter itself. Like so many dogs, the constant noise, activity, and confinement have led to vocalizing and over-arousal when people pass by. But staff repeatedly observed that once outside his kennel, he is calm, responsive, and easy to handle.
💔 Miller has already lost his home.
Now he’s about to lose his life.
⏰ DEADLINE: THURSDAY, 7/2 AT 1 PM CT
⚠️ BARC has stated there will be NO extensions.
🏡 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, OR RESCUE
🚗 Out-of-state and Canadian adoptions are possible through rescue partners. Transport typically costs around $600 USD and includes boarding, veterinary care, spay/neuter, health certificate, and transport.
📩 If you are out of state or in Canada and interested in adopting Miller, please send us a message. We can help connect you with the appropriate rescue partner to facilitate the adoption process.
Miller doesn’t need perfection.
He doesn’t need a huge house.
He just needs someone willing to give him a chance to leave the shelter and be the loyal companion everyone there knows he can be.
Please share, tag rescues, and help us save Miller before time runs out. 🙏
