A: ddx LF soft tissue injury/distal radius and ulna non displaced fracture.

P: rx rimidyl 25mg bid x 14, rx gabapentin 100mg 2 bid x 14, needs rads V/D and lateral pelvis/knees/hocks.

10/8/2026: Given Bordetella, Rabies, dewormer, Pyrantel, Advantage Multi, Carprofen 25mg, and Gabapentin 100mg. Heartworm test negative.

9/15 Stray - OTC | Labrador Retriever Mix | Neutered Male | 1 Year | 43.2 lbs | HW Negative

📝 Shelter Notes:

9/15: Beavis was described as very wiggly during intake.

9/17: Beavis displayed a loose, wiggly body and walked on a loose leash.

9/19: Beavis walked on a loose leash, showed interest in treats and remained quiet in his kennel.

10/6: Beavis greeted staff at his kennel door with a loose, wiggly body, fast-wagging tail and perked ears. He was easily leashed and walked on a loose leash to and from the outdoor runs. While outside, he got the zoomies and tried to play with neighboring dogs by play bowing and running along the fence line.

10/9: Beavis was standing at the front of his kennel when staff approached. He walked on a semi-tight leash to the outdoor run and back. Once returned to his kennel, he began throwing water from his bowl and watched staff while they attempted to clean it.

10/10: Beavis was a little vocal during morning feeding and cleaning. He greeted staff at his kennel door with a wiggly body, fast-wagging tail and soft, open mouth with his tongue hanging out. He walked on a loose leash to and from the outdoor runs.

🩺 Medical Notes:

9/15: Beavis weighed approximately 43 lbs and received routine vaccinations, deworming and parasite prevention. He tested negative for heartworms.

9/21: Beavis was neutered.

9/28: Beavis developed sneezing and nasal discharge. Veterinary staff diagnosed a canine upper respiratory infection (URI) and prescribed doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 10 days.

10/8: Beavis continued showing symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. His doxycycline treatment was extended for another five days.

💖 Beavis is barely a year old, and this happy, playful boy has so much life ahead of him! Shelter staff describe him as a wiggly, affectionate youngster who loves treats, walks nicely on a leash and gets the most adorable zoomies when he's outside. He's even tried to make friends with neighboring dogs by play bowing and running along the fence! Despite battling a respiratory infection, his playful spirit hasn't faded. Beavis needs a loving foster who can give him a safe place to recover, plenty of affection and the chance to enjoy being a young dog. He has so much love and happiness left to give. Please don't let his life end in a shelter. 💙

9/26/2026: Stray

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/4/2026: Approaching the kennel, Samson was standing in front of the kennel gate with a open mouth smile, fast wagging tail, ears up, wiggling body, and soft eyes. He was very welcoming and friendly towards me as I leashed him easily and walked him outside. Samson was walked on a loose leash and very energetic towards me as consistently jumping on me to and from the outside runs.

10/5/2026: Samson was standing in front of the kennel gate with a open mouth smile, fast wagging tail, ears up, wiggling body, and soft eyes. He was very welcoming and friendly towards me as I leashed him easily and walked him outside. Samson was walked on a loose leash and very energetic towards me to and from the outside runs.

10/6/2026: Samson will greet at the front of the kennel as he presents loose body, open mouth and dilated pupils. Once leashed he is a bit jumpy but able to redirect with treats. When placing him in the outside run he was jumpy and mouthy and was biting the leash and wouldn't let go. When place back in his kennel I took the dog next to him out and Samson was barking and snarling at him while the other dog did not react.

10/8/2026: Samson continously kept trying to chew the leash, and became mouthy when taking to outside run. Samson showed no interest in treats.

10/9/2026: Samson continously kept jumping up while on the leash. Samson also kept putting his mouth around my hand and tugging on my shirt sleeves. I could sometimes redirect with treats but he would go right back to tugging on my sleeves.

10/10/2026: Samson was placed in outdoor kennel in the morning due to Uri symptoms. while in kennel he was pacing with dilated eyes, panting, and vocalizing. when trying to leash he kept jumping up and was very mouthy towards my hand and leash. once leashed i gave a loud and firm no and he stopped the nipping but walked on a forward leash. once in his kennel i covered and provided a pig ear. he has been quiet all day but i will continue to monitor.

10/10/2026: Samson greeted me with a soft face, front paws on the door, wiggly body, wagging tail, dilated eyes, lip licked and play-bowed. He was easily leashed and walked semi-loosely, very excited, rearing, mouthy with leash and me, jumped up and bit my arm bruising it.

10/10/2026: While walking on the leash, Samson is very hyperactive, jumping and trying to bite the leash, bit employee on the arm, causing a bruise.

10/11/2026: 12:29 Walked with tight leash out to runs. When I reached down to unleash he turned, jumped up and was mouthing very hard on my hand and arm, jumping up and scratching down my back. Same when trying to leash him, had to push him down and hold him down to get leash on, then used leash to hold him away from me while he was still trying to mouth.

9/26/2026: Weighed 44.8 lbs. Intake condition normal. Given dewormer, DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies, HW test (negative), Pyrantel, and Advantage Multi.

10/10/2026: Weighed 44.8 lbs. Diagnosed with URI. Per ACT, dog is coughing, sneezing and has nasal discharge. BAR. Prescribed doxycycline 200mg SID for 10 days. DA2PP-V administered.

9/29/2026: Reported as a stray dog roaming the area. The caller stated the dogs were aggressive and would chase people and asked for assistance because the caller was elderly.

9/29/2026: Willow was tranquilized on her right side during intake. She was not bearing weight on her right rear leg and had a large open wound on the top/inside of her foot, along with an ulcerated wound on the bottom outside pad.

Further examination found her paw swollen with a large, deep open wound on the dorsal medial aspect of the paw and a smaller wound near the tarsal pad. Willow was noted to be very sensitive. She was prescribed carprofen, Clavamox and gabapentin for 10 days. Radiographs may be needed to determine whether there is further damage.

Willow tested HW- and received routine vaccinations, deworming and preventatives.

Laying at the back of the kennel, i baby tlked to her and she just layed on the floor, then slowly army crawl into the hallway.

She then froze i muzzle and carry her into a new kennel

Laying down, as I leashed she began to thrash o leash.

This dog addressed me laying on her blanket quietly. She let me leash her however would not get up and started to

tremble. She had kept the kennel clean overnight so i put in a fresh blanket and left her in place.

9/29/2026: Randy presented semi-tense with a worried look. Staff opened his kennel and leashed him, and he walked at a slow pace behind the handler to and from the runs.

9/28/2026: Randy weighed 49 lbs with a normal intake exam and received his DA2PP-V vaccine.

9/29/2026: Randy weighed 48.8 lbs. A limp was noted on his left rear leg. He received Bordetella, dewormer, flea prevention and was heartworm tested. HW-.

9/30/2026: Randy was placed on vet evaluation for the limp in his left rear leg. He appeared to walk okay but may have been slightly favoring that leg. The vet noted that he was very timid and fearful. Randy was prescribed Carprofen once daily for 7 days.

🔷Intake:

Koda originally entered BARC as a stray in December 2025 and was adopted. He returned to BARC on 9/21 as an owner-requested euthanasia.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

9/29: Koda approached staff at his kennel door by army crawling toward them. He allowed himself to be leashed and walked against the wall to and from the potty yard. Inside his kennel, he could be seen lying quietly on his blanket.

9/28: Koda was tense with whale eyes. Staff tossed treats while preparing to leash him to go outside. He walked quickly with a tucked tail but took soft treats and accepted caresses. He went potty outside, keeping his kennel very clean.

9/26: When approached, Koda held a tense face and low-hanging tail. He maintained whale eyes and a tight mouth while being leashed and walked with a low, curled tail. He remained hypervigilant to his surroundings while walking to and from his kennel.

9/23: Koda walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

🚑𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

9/30: Koda weighed 46 lbs. Radiographs of his right hind leg were taken and reviewed. He chewed up his original KDT dose.

9/27: Koda was non-weight-bearing on his right rear leg, and his right knee was noted to be thickened. Differential diagnosis included a right cranial cruciate ligament injury. He was prescribed Rimadyl, gabapentin and tramadol and needs additional radiographs of the knee.

9/21: Koda weighed 44 lbs and was noted as normal on intake.

Heartworm Negative.

Received routine intake vaccines, deworming and flea prevention.

💖 Koda is only 1 year old, and his notes paint the picture of a young dog who is frightened and unsure rather than a dog who has given up on people. He has shown clear signs of fear in the shelter — whale eyes, a tucked tail, hypervigilance and even army crawling toward staff — but he still allows himself to be leashed, takes treats, accepts gentle affection and has walked nicely on a loose leash. He also keeps his kennel very clean and rests quietly on his blanket. On top of being scared, Koda is dealing with a painful right hind leg injury that may involve his cranial cruciate ligament. This young boy needs a quiet, patient foster where he can receive the medical care he needs, decompress and finally feel safe enough to let his true personality emerge.

📝 Shelter Notes:

Noel has been displaying significant fear and stress in the shelter. In one interaction, he avoided the leash and, once leashed, began pulling in multiple directions. After being placed in a run, he went to the back and again avoided the leash when staff attempted to retrieve him. He ultimately walked back into his kennel without issue.

In another interaction, Noel initially accepted treats but stopped taking them during the walk. He stayed very close to the staff member’s legs, would pancake to the ground and then suddenly dart forward. Once in the run, he was biting at the outdoor run door and vocalizing.

Intake notes indicate Noel was found with two other dogs, including one reportedly suffering from severe lacerations. The caller reported the injured dog was lying down and not moving.

🩺 Medical Notes:

9/26: Noel weighed 44.6 lbs. His medical exam was documented as normal. He is heartworm negative.

💖 Noel is a frightened 2-year-old boy who appears overwhelmed by the shelter environment. His behavior suggests he is struggling to feel safe and does not yet understand what is being asked of him. He has shown some encouraging signs despite his fear: he initially accepted treats, allowed himself to be leashed and was able to walk back into his kennel without issue. His vocalizing and biting at the run door may reflect the level of distress he is experiencing in confinement. Noel would likely benefit from a quiet, patient home where he can decompress at his own pace, with someone willing to give him space, structure and time to build trust. 💙

📝 Shelter Notes:

9/29: Throughout the morning, Pepsi had been husky crying and pawing at his gate. Staff offered him treats, which he would eat before returning to the previous behavior. He presented with a panting, dilated eyes, ears up, non-stop whining/crying and a high wagging tail. Pepsi was walked on a loose leash and was friendly to and from the outside runs.

9/28: Pepsi was moved to a new kennel and walked on a loose leash. Throughout the day, he appeared stressed in his kennel, jumping on the walls, pawing at the gate and trying to force his head through the small space under the gate. He had dilated eyes, a high fast-wagging tail, heavy panting, ears up and consistent high-pitched whining. Staff covered his kennel with a sheet, but the behavior continued.

9/27: Pepsi displayed a wiggly body, tail curled over his back and wagging quickly, with an open mouth and tongue out. He walked on a tight leash to and from the runs.

💖 Pepsi is a young, friendly 30-pound boy who appears to be struggling significantly with the stress of the shelter environment. Outside of his kennel, his notes describe a wiggly, social dog who is friendly with handlers and has shown that he can walk nicely on a loose leash. Inside the kennel, however, Pepsi has become increasingly distressed—crying, panting, pawing at the gate and desperately trying to get out. He still readily accepts treats, and his behavior outside the kennel suggests there is a much more relaxed dog underneath all of that shelter stress. Pepsi would likely benefit tremendously from getting into a home where he can decompress away from the noise and confinement and finally feel safe. 💙

9/28/2026: Bell was sitting calmly in the back seat of the vehicle. Once leashed, she got halfway down from the car and just needed a little help getting down from the last jump. She walked on a loose leash into back intake. Bell remained calm and good for her workup and had no reaction to having her ears checked, though she was shaking her head frequently.

9/28/2026: Bell weighed 55 lbs. Generalized areas of thinning hair and swelling of both ears were noted.
9/28/2026: Both ear canals were described as having a cauliflower appearance with complete closing of the ear canals. Assessment was chronic otitis externa with complete stenosis. Topical ear medications cannot be applied due to the severity of the narrowing, and Bell will need surgical correction with a TECA procedure. She was prescribed carprofen for 7 days and Clavamox for 10 days.
Bell received Rabies, DA2PP-V and Bordetella vaccines, dewormer and flea prevention. Heartworm test was negative.

I genuinely don’t understand how this girl is still here. 💔

Fettuccine came into our rescue at just 8 weeks old.

She was a tiny little puppy who should’ve been scooped up immediately.

And somehow… she grew up here.

She’s now 6 months old, 30 pounds, fully vetted, and STILL waiting for someone to finally look at her and say, “That’s my dog.”

And watching videos like this makes it hurt a little more, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with this girl. Nothing that explains why she keeps getting overlooked.

Fettuccine is the kind of dog who is just happy to be included.

She wants to play.
She wants to explore.
She wants to ride in the car and go on adventures.
She wants to wrestle with her dog friends until everyone is exhausted. 😂
And when all of that is over, she wants to be right there with her people.

She is dog friendly, cat friendly AND kid friendly. She’s doing great with her house and crate training, walks well on leash, does great in the car, and genuinely wants to make you happy.

She’s goofy. She’s affectionate. She’s outgoing. She’s smart.

And she has spent almost her entire little life in rescue.

That’s the part that gets me.

Because Fettuccine doesn’t know she’s being overlooked.

She doesn’t know other puppies have come after her and gone home before her.

She just wakes up every day being the same happy, ridiculous little girl she’s always been — completely unaware that somewhere out there is supposed to be a family of her own.

We’ve gotten to watch her grow from a tiny 8-week-old baby into the beautiful girl in this video.

But we don’t want to watch her grow up in rescue.

She deserves birthday parties.
A spot on somebody’s couch.
Car rides that end at adventures with her family.
A person who knows all of her weird little quirks.
A home where she isn’t somebody’s foster dog anymore.

Just Fettuccine. Their dog. Forever. ❤️
