greyhound or not: cam edition

hello! my partner and I just submitted an embark DNA test for our 1 y/o 60lb puppy, Cam. we rescued Cam about a year ago and were told that she is a Dane/German Shepherd mix, but I don’t really see it. personally, I believe she could be a Greyador or something along those lines, but I’m not entirely sure. what do you guys think?

will update when we get her embark back!

EDIT: for context- we live in the SW United States :)

some traits about Cammy girl:

-uses her paws for everything
-powerful tail
-deeeeeeeep chest
-deep bark
-runs fast af
-ears can be floppy, both straight up, or one up one down
-very smart and learned basic commands within a week of living with us
-long flat snoot
-short and slick black coat with occasional singular white hairs
-front paws have white patches with black spots
-never stays still
-just a good girl

Looking for proven Counter-Surfing prevention solutions

My previous Lab never did this but this 3 year old is brazen. He even has a sweet tooth (I've never seen that before) taking cakes and cookies off the counters.

I have researched a few ideas but thought I'd ask the community for solutions that actually worked.

Thanks in advance.

New Girl

This is my new girl Kona! One of the few pics I’ve got that did not involve land shark activity.

They grow up so fast!

We've had Buddy since he was 6 weeks old, and he just turned 6 months old last week. Our boy has grown *so* fast! He's a real bundle of energy.

Leash pulling advice

I was hoping to get some advice or suggestions on leash pulling. My 72 pound lab kicks my ass when I take her on walks. She’s 1 1/2 years old and has the power of a horse. I tried a harness and it helped, but she is still able to pull a lot. I tried a prong collar and it helped, but I didn’t feel like it was a good permanent solution. She also still pulled when she saw other dogs or cats. I tried a slip lead and that just makes her almost choke herself. I’ve tried shock collars but unless I really turn it up, it doesn’t change her behavior. And I don’t want to always be shocking her as the solution. I’ve also tried the vibration option on the shock collar as well and that helped but she’d pull as soon as she saw another dog or cat. She’s such a good dog and is so great at listening when SHE feels like it. But I’m at a loss on what to do for leash pulling 😭😭

Need health advice for my old man!

hi everybody! never posted on here before but i need some advice. my lab named max will be turning 13 in october and is starting to develop some health issues. he was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis in february of this year, he coughs a lot and wheezes on occasion. yesterday he had a really bad coughing/wheezing episode so we took him to the vet. they told us about a surgery that could potentially help his throat and gave us examples of one dog who extended their life by 4 years, and another who’s life was cut short due to the surgery. we can’t decide what to do, we’re leaning towards only doing the medication that was prescribed to reduce inflammation, and not doing the surgery due to his age and declining health. overall he’s in good health, just slowed down and his back legs are getting weak. his biggest issue is this throat thing. of course they said they would do bloodwork before to confirm he’s eligible for the surgery and make sure there’s no underlying issues. i really need advice from other people who have had to make this decision. i need an outside perspective bc this is my childhood dog, we got him when i was 8, so im trying to make a decision that’s best for him and not me if that makes sense. this is the first big decision we’ve had to make based on his age. thanks in advance for any advice given.
