Several roads in southeastern Baltimore County will close Tuesday afternoon as President Donald Trumpvisits Sparrows Point to speak on Anduril Industries’ planned submarine manufacturing facility.

The northbound and southbound Peninsula Expressway from Merritt Boulevard through Bethlehem Boulevard will be closed from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Interstate 695 ramps at Exit 43 also will be closed during that period, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Just left theater 6 with 2 bug bites on my ass cheek.

I threw everything I was wearing into the washer and dryer. I tried to call the theater but was met with an endless list of menu options and the one I picked said it was unavailable. I’m not trying to get anyone in trouble I’m just paranoid bc I’ve dealt with these suckers before.

Anyone else? Just me? Ok, maybe a mosquito or two got me under my clothes while I was watching a movie, right? Hahaha

I'm hosting a group of about 15 people for a late brunch/early lunch. Aside from being able to accommodate a group of that size, I need a restaurant that's reasonably priced (no more than $20-30 per person, not including alcohol). Ideally, the restaurant would be east west, northeast northwest, or north of the city. Anywhere between Ellicott City and Timonium. Thanks!

I am a former student at Catonsville High School. i graduated in the class of 26

I am angry.

I am sickened.

Mr V was one of the only staff members who gave a fuck about any of us.

They fired him for speaking up about the abuse and mistreatment in our school, mainly with SPED students.

I will not let our voices be drowned out

. We all need to stand up to make our schools better.

The teachers were speaking inappropriately and doing inappropriate things, and Mr V spoke the truth.

They silenced him

but they can't silence all of us.

"Mr. V was more than just a hall monitor at Catonsville High School; he was a mentor, a confidant, and a friendly face who genuinely cared about each and every student. On Thursday, October 1st, he was wrongfully dismissed from his position—a decision that not only affects him, but also deeply impacts the lives of the students he has positively influenced.

Mr. V was terminated for "keeping it 1000"—for speaking the truth. He had the courage to bring to light unacceptable behavior happening within our school. Teachers were allegedly behaving inappropriately with students and neglecting their responsibilities, especially those crucial for the care of kids in wheelchairs. Instead of addressing these critical issues, the administration chose to silence the voice of righteousness by firing Mr. V. This is not just unfair; it is a grave injustice. 

And Mr V was wrongfully terminated for just doing his job keeping children safe

For me, and many of my peers, Mr. V was someone who always had time for us, always asked how we were doing, and never hesitated to offer guidance whenever needed. Losing him not only hinders our school environment but also negates a reliable support system for countless students.

The responsibility of any educational institution is to protect and nurture its students, not to hide behind closed doors when allegations arise. It is imperative that Catonsville High School reinstates Mr. V, conducts a thorough investigation into these allegations, and takes appropriate action against any misconduct.

Let's call on school administrators to do the right thing. Mr. V stood up for our welfare and safety.  now it's our turn to stand up for him. Looking for apartment/housing recommendations - Catonsville/Ellicott City/Elkridge area for single mom + toddler

I know people frequently post here looking for housing or apartment recommendations, and I did do an initial search of the subreddit. Everyone has such different circumstances, budgets, and expectations that I thought it might be worth asking with a little more context about what I’m looking for.

I’m a newly single mom to a toddler and going through a very difficult separation, so I would genuinely appreciate some help taking a little of the mental load out of this search.

In short, I’m looking for somewhere that feels safe, clean, family-friendly, and ideally somewhat walkable. I’d love to be able to put my son in the stroller and take a walk around the neighborhood without feeling like we’re surrounded by major roads, gas stations, car dealerships, industrial/maintenance buildings, etc. It doesn’t need to be directly next to a park or trail, but having green space or somewhere nice to walk nearby - even within a short drive - would be a huge plus.

For context, I lived in Catonsville from 2015-2018 in a second-floor apartment that was part of a single-family home. The owner and his family lived downstairs, and I absolutely loved the arrangement. They were incredibly kind, the apartment was lovely, and I loved the location. I think I just got very lucky finding it on Craigslist at the time. After that, I became a homeowner in Catonsville from 2018-2015, and I eventually moved to northern Baltimore County. I’m now hoping to move back toward the Catonsville/Ellicott City area.

I work in Adelphi. I know some people will immediately say that the commute is too far, but I did that commute for years and personally found it manageable - especially compared with my commute from northern Baltimore County now.

Another major factor is childcare. I’ve already toured a number of daycares between Ellicott City and Adelphi, and I’ve consistently felt most comfortable with the options around Rt 100.

As far as housing itself, I’m very open to different arrangements as long as my son and I would have the apartment/home entirely to ourselves. I’d happily rent from a private landlord again, including an apartment within someone’s home (though unsure of willingness for a landlord to rent to me with a small child), and I’d also consider a townhouse, condo rental, or traditional apartment complex.

I won’t actually be moving until summer 2027, so I realize it’s much too early to look at specific private rentals. Right now, I’m mainly hoping to identify apartment complexes, neighborhoods, communities, or even specific streets/areas that I should keep on my radar when the time gets closer.

I know these areas run $2,000-$3,000/month. Ideally, I’d love a two-bedroom, but I’m willing to consider a one-bedroom that I share with my toddler if that makes the most sense financially.

My biggest priorities are:

• Feeling safe and secure coming and going as a woman living alone with a young child
• Clean, well-maintained housing
• A family-friendly/residential feel
• Trees, sidewalks, green space, or pleasant places for stroller walks
• Ideally a 2BR, but a good 1BR is fine too
• Approximately $2,000-$3,000/month
• Apartment complexes or private rentals are both welcome

If you live in the area and there’s a particular complex or neighborhood you’ve loved - or one you think I should avoid - I would be incredibly grateful for the recommendation. Even just giving me a few names to research would help tremendously.
