💔 Delta almost lost her life because someone wouldn’t treat a skin condition that could be healed.
Someone looked at this sweet German Shepherd and asked for her life to end. She needed treatment. She needed care. She needed someone to believe she was worth the effort.
Thankfully, the vet refused to euthanize her. And because of that decision, Delta is still here. ❤️
Since we brought her home from the vet, she has had medicated baths every single day. Her skin is healing, and her beautiful black coat is finally growing back in. Every little patch of new fur means so much when you think about how close she came to never having that chance.
But the part that really gets me is how loving she is. After everything, Delta is still sweet, gentle, and docile. She’s wonderful with other dogs and kids. She has so much love to give, and it breaks my heart to think that someone was willing to let all of that disappear.
We can give her baths. We can help her skin heal. But what I want more than anything is to help her find a family who will love her for the rest of her life.
A home where she has her own bed. Where someone is happy to see her every morning. Where getting sick means being cared for. Where she is loved on the hard days, too.
Delta has already come so far. Now she deserves a home to call her own—and people who will never make her feel like she’s too much trouble to keep. 🐾❤️

Tragically, Burrata is running out of time. He is on the urgent exit list at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter with an absolute final deadline TODAY, October 11th at 2:00 PM PDT!
Burrata was brought in as a stray at the beginning of August. Outside of his cage, he is fantastic—he gets along great with other dogs, which you can see in his play videos! While at the shelter, he was involved in an altercation when forced to be caged with 2 other dogs in tight quarters. Forced kenneling and lack of proper socialization in high-stress shelter environments frequently instigate these behaviors, which are never representative of a dog's true personality outside of shelter walls.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
10/4/2026: Approaching the kennel, Samson was standing in front of the kennel gate with a open mouth smile, fast wagging tail, ears up, wiggling body, and soft eyes. He was very welcoming and friendly towards me as I leashed him easily and walked him outside. Samson was walked on a loose leash and very energetic towards me as consistently jumping on me to and from the outside runs.
10/5/2026: Samson was standing in front of the kennel gate with a open mouth smile, fast wagging tail, ears up, wiggling body, and soft eyes. He was very welcoming and friendly towards me as I leashed him easily and walked him outside. Samson was walked on a loose leash and very energetic towards me to and from the outside runs.
10/6/2026: Samson will greet at the front of the kennel as he presents loose body, open mouth and dilated pupils. Once leashed he is a bit jumpy but able to redirect with treats. When placing him in the outside run he was jumpy and mouthy and was biting the leash and wouldn't let go. When place back in his kennel I took the dog next to him out and Samson was barking and snarling at him while the other dog did not react.
10/8/2026: Samson continously kept trying to chew the leash, and became mouthy when taking to outside run. Samson showed no interest in treats.
10/9/2026: Samson continously kept jumping up while on the leash. Samson also kept putting his mouth around my hand and tugging on my shirt sleeves. I could sometimes redirect with treats but he would go right back to tugging on my sleeves.
10/10/2026: Samson was placed in outdoor kennel in the morning due to Uri symptoms. while in kennel he was pacing with dilated eyes, panting, and vocalizing. when trying to leash he kept jumping up and was very mouthy towards my hand and leash. once leashed i gave a loud and firm no and he stopped the nipping but walked on a forward leash. once in his kennel i covered and provided a pig ear. he has been quiet all day but i will continue to monitor.
10/10/2026: Samson greeted me with a soft face, front paws on the door, wiggly body, wagging tail, dilated eyes, lip licked and play-bowed. He was easily leashed and walked semi-loosely, very excited, rearing, mouthy with leash and me, jumped up and bit my arm bruising it.
10/10/2026: While walking on the leash, Samson is very hyperactive, jumping and trying to bite the leash, bit employee on the arm, causing a bruise.
10/11/2026: 12:29 Walked with tight leash out to runs. When I reached down to unleash he turned, jumped up and was mouthing very hard on my hand and arm, jumping up and scratching down my back. Same when trying to leash him, had to push him down and hold him down to get leash on, then used leash to hold him away from me while he was still trying to mouth.

10/10/2026: Weighed 44.8 lbs. Diagnosed with URI. Per ACT, dog is coughing, sneezing and has nasal discharge. BAR. Prescribed doxycycline 200mg SID for 10 days. DA2PP-V administered.

🚗 OUT OF STATE OR CANADIAN ADOPTION IS POSSIBLE - cost is typically around $600 USD (give or take). The fee includes transport, boarding, full medical, spay/neuter, and a health certificate.
We are a volunteer network dedicated to helping at-risk dogs. We are not affiliated with BARC. We connect at-risk animals at the BARC shelter with the adopters, fosters, and rescue organizations needed to save their lives. We can help coordinate out-of-state adoption through approved 501(c)3 rescues. * A small section of the left front tip of his tongue is missing. Staff noted that it did not appear to be a recent injury, and no treatment was needed at the time of evaluation.
* Received Advantage Multi and Pyrantel deworming.
* Vaccinated for DA2PP, Bordetella, and rabies.
* Needs veterinary guidance and appropriate follow-up for his heartworm status.

🐶 Behavior Notes:
Cody has shown he can be calm and quiet in his kennel, resting on his blanket, and has previously walked on a loose leash. More recently, he has been very vocal and over-aroused in the shelter, with pacing, panting, and jumping at kennel doors. His behavior appears to be affected by stress in this environment.
Cody is easily leashed, and on some walks he has moved comfortably without pulling hard. He needs a patient, experienced caregiver who can give him time to decompress and help him feel secure.

Shelter Notes:
9/17: Vinny stood at the front of his kennel door with a loose, relaxed body and high-wagging tail. Staff noted that he walks well on a loose leash.
9/29: Tapeworms were seen. Vinny was treated with praziquantel
9/27: Vinny was sneezing and had a honking cough.
He was diagnosed with CIRD/URI, moved to the treatment room and prescribed doxycycline 250 mg once daily for 10 days.
9/23: Medical exam documented as normal.
9/9: Vinny weighed 53.5 Ibs. His medical exam was documented as normal. He is heartworm negative.
Vinny is a friendly, relaxed boy whose shelter notes show some very encouraging behavior despite being in a stressful environment. When staff approached his kennel, Vinny was waiting at the front with a loose, relaxed body and happily wagging tail.
Even better, staff specifically noted that he walks well on a loose leash! There are no concerning behavior notes documented in his record. Medically, Vinny has been treated for tapeworms and is currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection, both of which are manageable conditions. This handsome boy would likely benefit greatly from a home where he can recover, decompress and show even more of his personality outside of the shelter.

His notice was sent 9/16 and is somehow is still alive. He will be euthanized tomorrow if nobody steps up right away. He already has a rescue willing to pull but they desperately need a foster/ adopter to do so. Transportation across the U.S is possible, you do not need to be in California.
