Churro removes id band even when a new one is placed on. Very jumpy in kennel , along walls and vocalizing. On the
leash dog walks on a semi tight leash. Once placed in the runs presents dilated eyes and tongue out with heavy panting,
jumping on kennel door vocalizing . On the walk back walked a little more relaxed. In kennel still being jumpy and vocal.

Emerson is one of our longest residents, and he’s had zero interest. The chance of him making it out before his euthanasia date is so slim and it’s making me so sad. Emerson is a senior dog that clearly had a family and then was dumped. He’s in rough shape, has some lumps and bumps around his body, but he is so extremely resilient. Emerson doesn’t hold a grudge against people, he just loves everyone. Emerson is a big “scary” looking dog, but in reality he’s got a just as big heart. He’s never once been mean or scary. He literally just wants to be cuddled.

At 8 years old, he’d rather wear pajamas than act tough. SOCIAL w/ CALM DOGS in playgroup. He Didn’t engage when a dog went after him. With humans he is the softest, most affectionate giant lap baby. All he wants is cuddle time and he’s so happy just to get a few moments of love . Then the yard time is over, and he goes right back to waiting. He knows basic commands; Knows sit & gives

6/20/2026: Greeted handlers with a wagging tail and walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

6/23/2026: Recovering from surgery. Howled and cried frequently after her spay; kennel was partially covered to reduce stimulation.

6/24/2026: Vocalized in her kennel but remained relaxed and walked well on leash.

6/25/2026: Similar behavior-vocal in kennel but friendly, relaxed, and easy to leash and walk.

6/26/2026: Vocal during feeding and cleaning but approached handlers with a relaxed body, wagging tail, and open mouth. Walked well on a loose leash.

6/27/2026: Quiet most of the morning. While outside she reacted to a neighboring dog that barked at her but otherwise did well.

6/28/2026: Walked calmly on a loose leash, stayed neutral around other dogs, allowed petting, and remained relaxed during handling.

6/29/2026: Whined and howled in her kennel before her walk. Walked well on leash, accepted petting, but was not interested in treats.

6/30/2026: Walked nicely on a loose leash and remained neutral toward most dogs. Later became vocal, lunged, and bared her teeth at dogs passing her kennel, but relaxed and wagged her tail once they moved away.

7/1/2026: Walked on a loose leash with a relaxed body but became vocal toward other dogs while outside.

7/2/2026: Quiet in her kennel for most of the day. During an evening walk she barked at dogs passing by.

7/3/2026: Calm and quiet throughout the day while resting comfortably in her kennel.

7/5/2026: Calm in her kennel and walked with a loose leash to and from the runs. Curled up on the kennel floor for a nap before moving to her Kuranda bed and falling back asleep.
🚑 Medical Notes:
6/18/2026: Intake exam noted Heartworm Low Positive. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, and flea prevention applied.
6/23/2026: Spayed. Recovered from surgery without complications.

💛 MARBLES IS STILL WAITING 💛

Oh my gosh... how is this sweet, middle-aged Golden Retriever still sitting at the shelter?

Marbles has been available for a couple of days, and I'm honestly shocked no one has come for him yet. He is 6 years old and should be enjoying the comfort of a home, not waiting behind the doors of a shelter kennel.

There is something incredibly special about adopting an older dog. They have so much love to give, and giving them a second chance is one of the greatest gifts you can offer. Please keep in mind that as dogs get older, they can come with medical needs, so only adopt if you are prepared and able to provide the care they may need throughout their golden years.

Someone, please come get this sweet old man out of the shelter. He deserves a soft bed, a loving family, and the chance to spend the rest of his life knowing he is finally home.

Medical Notes:
Summer is heartworm negative and appears to be in good overall health. She has received her DA2PP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, has been dewormed with pyrantel, and treated with Advantage Multi for parasite prevention. No significant medical concerns have been noted.

Behavior Notes:
Summer is a fearful young dog who has shut down in the shelter environment. She stays at the back of her kennel, avoids eye contact, trembles, lip licks, and keeps her tail tightly tucked. She will often pancake to the ground and has shown little interest in treats or encouragement, making it difficult for staff to move her. On multiple occasions she has needed to be carried because she was too frightened to walk.

Lorraine was a Move Adopt this morning and was walked to South C by another ACT. She made a mess in her kennel as I
was walking dogs and allowed me to go in to clean it. She showed tense body, brows furrowed, and low hanging tail.
Throughout the morning, laying down on her cot quietly before starting to vocalize back towards a puppy who insitagates it
on the other side of her guillotine for a short time before stopping.

Bio

Starfish is a gentle female dog who arrived at the shelter unable to use her back legs. She does have deep pain perception, and there is some movement in her hind legs, giving hope that with proper medical care she could improve. Starfish has also been noted to have an enlarged heart, which adds to the urgency of her medical needs.

Despite everything she’s facing, Starfish remains calm and trusting, looking to people for comfort and reassurance. She deserves a chance at proper care, safety, and a place where she can heal.

Miller (#A2081273) is a 7-year-old Staffy mix who was surrendered by his owner and now finds himself on BARC’s euthanasia list.
The shelter environment has become overwhelming for him, but underneath the barking and kennel stress is a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to be with people.

Staff consistently describe Miller as:

One of the most telling notes described Miller greeting staff with “tappy paws” and a wiggly body when they approached. ❤️
Another noted that after returning to his kennel, he calmly laid down and relaxed.
Miller’s biggest struggle is the shelter itself. Like so many dogs, the constant noise, activity, and confinement have led to vocalizing and over-arousal when people pass by. But staff repeatedly observed that once outside his kennel, he is calm, responsive, and easy to handle.

Now he’s about to lose his life.

Hi everyone,

A few days ago, I came across an anonymous post in a Philippine animal welfare Facebook group about a Husky with a leg injury who urgently needed help.

I immediately reached out to the original poster, hoping they would message me. Thankfully, they did. The person who contacted me was a family member of the dog's owner.

They shared concerns that Angel had not been receiving the care she needed, including inconsistent feeding, untreated injuries, spending most of her time confined to a cage, and little opportunity for exercise. They also said the cage itself had contributed to some of her injuries. As a Husky living in the tropical climate of the Philippines, I was especially worried about her welfare.

The Husky had never even been given a name.
So I named her Angelina Julyie, since she was rescued in July. We call her Angel. Again, it makes me sad when they never had names :/

One of my biggest concerns was that, because she is a Husky and has not been spayed, she could end up in the wrong hands and be used for breeding. I was incredibly grateful that the family member trusted me and accepted my advice not to give or sell her to just anyone.

I immediately organized a rescue mission, arranged pet transportation, and contacted one of the trusted shelters we work with. Its the same shelter caring for Baci and Isabella. They have previously cared for Huskies and have experience with the breed.

The rescue itself wasn't easy. The pet transporter waited for over an hour at a nearby 7-Eleven until it was safe to pick Angel up. Although a payment had already been agreed upon, there were last-minute complications, so everyone waited to ensure the rescue could be completed safely. They wanted money for her unless they would not give her up, so I paid.

Today, Angel is finally safe.
She is now staying at a shelter with plenty of open space where, once she has settled in and received training, she will be able to enjoy the freedom she has been missing for so long.

Her new caregiver shared that Angel almost hurt one of the cats, so for everyone's safety she is currently being kept on a leash while she adjusts to her new surroundings. After spending years confined, it will take time for her to learn, heal, and adapt.

This Wednesday, Angel will be seeing a veterinarian. Until then, her caregiver is cleaning and treating her wounds, making sure she is fed every day, and most importantly, surrounding her with love. ❤️

Even though our non-profit just started this April, Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation have covered for the rescue mission and will be covering for Angel’s medical and all other basic and necessary needs. Majority of our rescued animals in the Philippines are sponsored by us FURever. They have already been abandoned before.. I would not do that to them 💔
